Anarchy online was my first MMO. This game reminds me of it in alot of ways. Corporate governent controlling resurection. Guns. Rebels vs corporates. Mutants. I'm really hoping that after all these years that this will be a worthy successor.

good old AO whenever i get sick of waiting for er fire that game up and i am happy for a few months before i go damn earthrise needs to hurry the hell up

AO was hands down the greatest game ever made. Long before WoW was even a thought. Back when times were simple haha.
Earthrise will never be AO unfortunatly. They need to add implants into the game and I would be happy though.
Most of us AO players gave up on the new "engine" 5 years ago when they said it was coming out. Funny to see people saying AO is gonna be great when the "new engine" comes out. When the engine is out we will have caught up to rubi-ka's time frame with a real life date.
I agree with OP, AO was great but had his time now it just simply isnt good enough and Funcom is to blame 100%. Hopefully Earthrise will have some features that reminds us of old AO and other features that reminds us how AO should be at the moment.
Since trying to play Earthrise this morning, unfortunately I am noticing MANY similarities between the two.

As AO vet myself I love when I read posts about how a these new games are too much of a grind...
levels from 200-220 plus ai 30 = max level in about 10 mmos out there now lol
splash some new graphics on AO and more balance to the pvp, do something about emo players being in charge of bots and you have yourself a game blizzard couldnt compete with.
I'm starving for a Sci-Fi MMO's. AO was DA BOMB, i just hope this could turned out to be as good.
True, AO is old, but I still love it. I have a froob account and a paid account with all the xpacs. I go back and forth between them from time to time but I havnt played steady since around 05.
"fingers crossed" that Earthrise will fill the scifi mmo void that I have now!!!
