Here we have masthead studios,an unknown company to the masses and guess what. They release the game in 4th of feb with a closed beta and some keys that are as rare as gold to find.
My point is how this company is going to get the trust of the people if they want to sell.
They may think that some people who didnt get into the beta they will end up to to buy the game in order to see it live.
Ok im here to tell you that blind buys are over for me and for the most of the people that play mmos outthere.
Mmorpg just send masthead noobs a message and wake them up cause i think they are still deep dreaming that they are going to earn money like that.Hands down.
Want to buy your game then give us beta access and we will judge if your game is a buy or not.
Masthead seems to be afraid that their product is of low value.

"I wish I got a key" would have been just fine, dude, no sense in writing all of that.
You're not missing anything anyways. And those of us who are in beta have been posting pretty fair about it. Even the fans are disappointed and being honest.
I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and guess that someone didn't get a beta key? UMADBRO?
Being serious you're going into melt down because you missed out on the give aways, yeah it sux but there weren't many keys so you're not alone. There's a begging thread for keys in this forum and you'd do alot better by asking nicely rather than using verbal abuse and slating a game you haven't even tested ... although you want to? If that makes any sense?
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"

Well, OP has a point about paying $50 for a game where there is some reason to doubt it is ready for release (see other comments on this forum after the NDA was lifted).
But then again, many games come out with a free trial offer not too long after launch. Or one could simply wait a few weeks and read the reviews that will doubtlessly appear on the net. Both of which have the advantage that you actually get an idea of the post-launch state of the game.
So there is usually no need to buy completely blind..
Well yes but.
Playing a game by your self it's a unique experience and cant be compared to another players review
I dont trust reviews and i dont take their point of view as a fact cause what i like it's very special.
I played dcuo beta and i liked it a lot so i bought the game even if it needs a lot of time to stand on it's feet i bought it because it had potential. If i had read the reviews i may not have bought this game.
Anyways i finally managed to get my earthrise key through facebook.
Let's see how this game goes and if it's worth 50 euro
After giving the beta a go, I won't droppinig money on it which is disappointing since I had been looking forward to this game for a long time. Good concept, poor execution. There isn't enough there to the game to make me want to drop $50 on it plus the monthly fee. Technically it needs a lot more work, game needs to be worked on for a few more months at least before it's released.
Its an indi company making a sandbox. If you like sandbox games then you'll likely enjoy ER despite is bugs. The only issue I have had with the game is preformance, which as improved since the last patch from what I can tell.
Games:
Currently playing:Nothing
Will play: Darkfall: Unholy Wars
Past games:
Guild Wars 2 - Xpiher Duminous
Xpiher's GW2
GW 1 - Xpiher Duminous
Darkfall - Xpiher Duminous (NA) retired
AoC - Xpiher (Tyranny) retired
Warhammer - Xpiher
should be even better when we actully get the performance patch before release
AO went through a crap ton of problems when it launched and it took a bit to get it straigtened out. But now it is quite possbily one of the greatest games ever made for those that stuck it out and played it.
It seems like a lot wont play this because of the state it is in. That is fine its your choice. I am a bit iffy myself atm. But I think we can all agree that the game has potential to be really good. So just give it time go play a different game for a few months and give them time to fix everything.
Best to give them our support and keep giving them support because at the end of the day we do really want this game to do good.
