Have to say they need at least another 2 months of beta testing.
If it releases how it is now...
For those that aren't in the beta right now, here's what's going on.
* Horrible lag. You can move, you can attack, but sometimes there's as much as a second or two between what you tell the system to do and what your avatar actually does.
* You can PK in the starter area. Which is a lot more fun than trying to kill the training robots because there are like 100 people in the training field and 4 robots. You have to kill 5 of them. So of course, people are starting to run around and kill each other. Which would be a lot more fun if you could really see anything. I've had to jump and run behind a wall, then check my combat log to see who's been shooting me.
* I killed two or three of the training robots and didn't get credit for them. There could have been someone else there that I couldn't see..some people seemed to blip out suddenly and I don't know if they disconnected or became invisible to me.
This game is filled with the "P" word - Potential. I do hope they get it. If they could just fix the lag, everything else would probably be just fine.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
I got say this, I managed to make it for awhile before the server crashed again or somthing.
Between DC, Rift, Wow and some high end games. I can't explain the long loads to barely filled area.
The NPC robots look all the same, no much info at the start. For some reason you have to shuffle through 5 teleports to different station and jump over some stupid platforms for no reason.
The lag, lack of character generation, no real sense or depth to the game.
Can't handle the beta tester load.
2 days it comes out, sale lost. I won't even give this a chance in six months. You can't fix this.

I afraid that the game has moved to my "wait and see" category. I crashed / got kicked at least 5 times last night in about 5 minutes.
AND I HATE SIGNING THE EULA EVERY TIME I ATTEMPT TO LOG IN!
As much as I generally dislike instancing, with a tutorial set-up like theirs, instancing was the way to go.
People would be through the tutorial in a few minutes, no muss, no fuss, and it would ease the server load for everyone else.
I don't know why they didn't do this. I logged out because there were 40 people in the tutorial area and the spawns on the tutorial armadillos were ridiculously slow. Hopefully I'll finish the tutorial at a quieter time and get to see the gameworld itself.
For now I'll go see how to edit this infamous lua file so I can map my keys ...

And for me it's been moved to the "screw this, maybe in a year or two" category. I had very low hopes after they announced the release date, after trying the beta those hopes went down through to China.
I'll give the game a last chance tomorrow, if nothing is fixed it's not something I'm going to bother with anymore for a long time.

It is a pretty big mess. Right out the gate of the first town I got attacked by another player, which really isnt a big deal to me except for the fact that the animations and effects are so bad you really have no idea where the fire is coming from, all you can do is run around panning your camera and then you die. Basically all you have to do to pk someone is stand on a rock or wall and shoot down at them, by the time they figure out where you are they are dead.
The quests are pretty generic, and the overall look and feel of it is just completely sub par.
Its a shame really, I remember signing up for this beta 2 years ago with high hopes of a solid non fantasy style MMO will a skill system that did something other than class/level based system.

I gave it a try today. Well... SERIOUS lag and performance issues are two things that made me leave after 5 minutes. I'll give it a chance in a few days, and see if they fixed those issues

Aside from the 12 hour download, I have to say, the graphics are good. But the controls are HORRIBLE at least. Then the music... hard techno for a game? OMFG! After 5 minutes or playing (1000 logon tries further though) I was so sick of that music, I logged off and uninstalled it completely...
The controls and movement is like a monkey humping a football. I hate them. Nobody comments on this.
Bugs and crashes can be fixed. Gameplay cannot.
But 12 hours dude? lol mine was an 1 hour, had 1.3MBps
Whats wrong with the controls? Its just a combinatino of shooter controls and MMO.
That's exactly it... The controls are non-standard MMO controls. And not being able to change a bit in them annoys me like hell.
Aside from that, shooter controls are even worse for me. I'm considered "old" for a MMO-player, and shooter controls require fast reflexes, which is not one of my masteries...
I got in, the starter zones kept crashing, trying to get through the tutorial, hate the controls...
It seems about every time I want to get in the game, it is down, if it is this unstable and it didn't even have the number of people it does now in it. Maybe they fixed things, but their was only like 7-10 people in the starter area when I had all my problems.
Disappointing, I was very seriously mulling the idea of buying it, gonna mess with it some more, but it seems its going to be a pay for beta deal.
