Think I am going to buy it...

I know that as of right now Earthrise is not ready for release.

But I see the potential this game has and the Devs seem to really care about making it work.

I hope that they get enough people to jump in and play on Feb 4th and help fund what could be a fantastic game.

I do agree that the price is high, but I am going to take the bull by the horns and help give this game a kick in the butt.

It really does have the ability to be a FANTASTIC game.

I've tried the game and i'm not going to pay, i find it buggy and incomplete, but you can do what you want and spend the money where you want, nobody will blame you for this, is your choice and your freedom.

    Have fun.

well if you have money to waste on such a bad product and support yet another MMO company whos willing to make a quick buck on a bad product go for it.  The more we support bad games the more of them they will make.

Its a small company that is running out of funding to make the game better.

I do have the money to spend, it would be a waste if it wasn't fun. Despite the subpar client performance, I am having fun testing it. But that's just me - I wouldnt recommend it to people who are put off by a rocky start. I've paid for betas before and I get the argument that we shouldn't encourage poor production, but I've only personally been let down by a developer with more money than they know what to do with. I paid for beta of Mortal Online too, but I only ever felt my money was wasted by FFXIV. Despite having fair warning from posters here about the defects, its hard to predict fun. I just didn't have fun in FFXIV. I'm having fun testing Earthrise.

So long as people go in knowing that, with their eyes wide open and the possability that it may fail I think it's a good decision.

If there weren't too many games that need aplaying right now I'd be there too it looks to have promise, maybe a month or 2 from now.

I just can't bring myself to give them money for something that is so far from release quality. It just sends the wrong message, really the only thing you have to vote with is your cash. I also hear that they are not that small a team (haven't managed to verify this but 70 is a number that is bandied around). Presumably they are releasing for financial reasons and that does not bode well I wonder if they will be able to afford to keep on who they need to get the job done.

When they launch a trial I might take a look though if the game play is such that a newcomer can never catch up to a vet (and it sounds to be just that) then I will probably pass.

I agree.  I am buying it as well.  I actually had a great time in the beta last night.  This is a good sign for things to come, because I do believe it is only going to get better.

Well if you think you know the facts, then it's up to you if you want to boycott a game because of its apparent failure, but it's quite another thing to show support for a game that is coming along, but just hasn't gotten there yet.  It's true that release is coming too soon for Earthrise, but that's no reason to abandon it if its a game that interests you.  If we did, developers that want to take chances and build unique/innovative games will not bother taking the chance.

I also want to play it, but for $68 I think I'll wait a month when it drops to $30.

Where is everyone coming up with these prices, 50-60 dollars is the common prices for a game and an MMO..

I paid 50 for this game last night , I like to know where people are seeing 68 dolalrs for this game, make sure its the site for earthrise and not a scam, because you should be only be paying 50 bucks. The think the box version may be a few bucks more , unless they lowered that but I know the download  is 50.

I alreafy preordered this and I did because the game will do well, WOW had a rocky start at the beginning look how good they did, many games do, and look WOW expansion was bug city and yet people buy it, if you want a nice sand box then Earthrise will be it, I bet some people will regret not buying it as it will be a great game, I was in the beta for 6 months and the changes I seen was just awesome the devs love there game.

Alot of smaller companys go through a rocky start and end up doing well, even Mortal is doing better, if your sick of the same crap point and click, hack and slash , games then I suggest you play Earthrise because you  will miss out on some fun.

I have tested many, many games, and I have yet to see a game not do better after beta, most games are night and day, any of you doubting , hey its your choice but if you beta tested any smaller company you should know by now, the game will only do better .

Anyhow I hope to see you in the future in the game and for those that did preorder if you need help or a guild feel free to PM me, we have forums up and ready to go.

Have fun in Earthrise I know I plan to:)

yea 70+ employees is small alright.  Face of Mankind was pretty much made from scratch by one guy and its way better than this.

no one is boycotting the game, its a matter of supporting a 30%- finished product or not, which is a simple decision since you dont pay full price for 30%. Now those who are buying it also realize that game is far from done, but hope that all the rosy promises of total freedom will come true. good lux
