Cities need fleshing out

Agricola1Agricola1 Member UncommonPosts: 4,977

From what I've seen the bare bones are there, graphics are awesome, sound is decent, combat is good, world is looking good but there isn't that much in terms of activities aside from crafting/killing/questing. What I'm saying is cities such as SV need things like bars, player apartments, bazaars with player vendors. Factions could do with fleshing out and having more depth, maybe special faction gear, ranks and privileges and so forth.

I think they've got the bare bones of a great game nailed down, the question is can they build on it. I just hope atleast one of the senior developers played SWG pre cu for a while and enjoyed it because I'd probably shoot my load if they implemented a similar bounty system!!!!!!!!!!

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"

Was on their feature list at some point if I recall correctly. Wish there were more Conti quests and stations dotted around, I couldn't move for tripping over Noir areas with BR343 guards one/two shotting me but not much sign of the blue faction quest givers, teleports or vendors. Agreed the cities are bland with masses of wasted space. Hopefully they'll improve things in that area and add more stuff to do. PVP has no real point, PVE is just bp grinding with a few quests as pretty much your main source of income. Crafting looks like something a guild needs to get behind to get anywhere... Needs more 'stuff to do' apart from ironing out the basic gameplay issues plaguing things at the moment like desyncing, stuttering, invisi mobs, invisi loot on death, being unable to draw your weapon occasionally (can be fixed by dieing, yay!), being unable to put your weapon away occasionally... watch your loot disappear before your eyes...

The game is running better than it was, but still has some beefy issues to sort out. Fleshing stuff out is the 'easy' part, but this other stuff is a game killer.

So within the next day they'll be adding a reason to pvp, more verisatile quests, more buildings/NPCs littered around each city, streamline crafting, fix movement desynch, stuttering, inivisble mobs, invisible loot on death, being unable to draw you're weapon, being unable to put you're weapon away, and not being able to loot stuff you killed? Oh yeah, while also adding meaningful territory wars? Not to mention they scrapped the bounty system..

Masthead has already proven they arn't miracle workers.. I doubt they'll get it ironed out within the next few days (isn't it set to release today or the 4th or something?) This baby is gonna take some time and a lot of funding to get it up to speed.. Ill prolly check it out in a few months after the initial players funded some new content thru their subs.
