Review of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith (No Spoilers)

Review of Star Wars : Revenge of the Sith

with NO SPOILERS at all!

This review is for non-star wars fans, and star wars fans.

 1. Is this movie worth paying 10 bucks (USA) for? YES.

 2. Is this movie worth spending 2 hours of your life viewing it? YES.

 3. Violence factor....... If you have kids age 8 or younger, you might want to see the movie first without them before deciding if they can handle watching... kids the same age as them getting... killed. Shoot there were grown adults crying when they watched the scenes of the little kids getting killed!

 4. Revenge of the Sith blows away The Phantem Menace, and Attack of the Clones. IMHO A New Hope is still the best. With maybe a 2 way tie between Empire Strikes Back and Revenge of the Sith. OR RotS 3rd after ESB.

 5. Storyline and Plot - FLAWLESS. Sets, and costumes - FLAWLESS. F/X - FLAWLESS. Casting - Done good. There's only 2 good actors in the entire movie... Christopher Lee (Count Dooku), and Ian (Palpatine/Emperor). Ian steals the entire movie! Sam L (Mace) and Natalie P. (Padame) at least do try. Everyone else cannot act LOL! The main reason is everyone else talks in the same monotone voices throughout the entire movie!!! R2D2 did showed more emotional range in his chirps and beeps than everyone else!!! Ewan M (Obi Wan) does the worse acting in his entire movie career in RotS. But the movie is still enjoyable. image

Non-Star Wars fans will still LIKE this movie. The action is at a nice pace. Star Wars fans will LIKE this movie!! The most lightsaber battles out of every single Star Wars movie! Possibly more than all the other SW movies combined!!! The movie is roughly 2 hours and 30 minutes long. I saw it.... 7 times............ so far LOL! imageimageimageimageimageimage

  •  I want to add that the current NICE movies out are:

     1. "Million Dollar Baby"

     2. "Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy" (You'll like it best if you read the books first and liked the books.) Though people who never read the books will enjoy some of the scenes.

     3. "Crash". This movie is some of the most hardcore drama ever!

     4. "Sin City". One of the most violent movies ever made. If you don't mind extreem violence, then NICE movie!

     5. "Layerd Cake" This is a NICE NICE NICE movie! From the guy who made "Snatch" (with Brad Pitt) and "Lock, Stock, and Smoking Barrels". Nice hardcore drama about living in the super fast lane of life.

     6. "Star Wars Revenge of the Sith" . Lots and lots of action! Flawless storlyine and plot. Ian (the guy who plays Palpatine/Emperor) should get an Oscar nomination! LOL!

     7. "Unleashed". Nice little different take on the martial arts theme. It has many elements of "Snatch", and "Layerd Cake". British bad guys are hardcore and popular I guess.

     8. "Kung Fu Hustle". Satire about martial arts in current past 5 years of movies. Including the Matrix movies. Has many funny parts.

     9. "Robots". The most kid friendly movie out right now. And to come out in past 4 years LOL! Adults will enjoy it too without falling asleep. image

     10. Hmmm... any other super nice movies currently out IMHO? Hmmm.... I cannot think of anymore LOL!

Without sploilers, Best of 3 better than 6 on par with 4 and as emotional as 5.....

How I sum that up .

Note: Not as violent as what I heard thank heavens but you get the idea without seeing. VERY SAD. Empire Strikes Back sad X3.

ROTS is really great!  The best to the prequels and it is as good as the Empire Strikes Back. A good  redeeming movie for Lucas, after the very disappointing Attack of the Clones...i will watch it again this weekend :)

I think it's the 3rd best (Behind ESB and RotJ), but that's still damned good.

ROTS, one of the awesome starwars movie that ive seen, great  scenes and sounds.Me and my friends are planning to watch them again aside from my family who will be coming this watch evening.

In my field of paper flowers, candy clouds of lullaby. I lay inside myself for hours, and watch my purple sky fly over me. ~*Evanescence*~

  •  Cool.

I have watched 7 times soo far. I plan to watch it more times next week. I have to say, part of the fun is watching it over and over with audiances watching it for the FIRST time, and experiencing their first time re-actions! I couldn't stop smiling the 2nd time I saw it, and it was obvious the majority of that audiance were Sith fans LOL! It was intresting hearing the audiance cheering for parts of the movie only Sith lovers would like. The first time I saw it the majority of the audiance were Jedi fans.

LOL whoa !!! have you left the theatre yet ? hehe, but seriously, thats awesome. I for sure want to see it again, I had such a great time going on opening night, the crowd was something I had never experienced before and it was so much fun.

On the movie side, I would recomend it to anyone, I'm not a huge SW fan but it was so worth it. I actually found that yes the movie was violent but there was very little gore, alot of it was mind play, you know something bad happened but you don't always see it. I like that kind of stuff.

Anyways, if anyone hasn't soon, go asap, sooooo worth whatever you have to pay to get in.

    Have fun,

    Shae

PS: Xplororor: go home and get some sleep will yah :-P image

  •  I am going to definatly go again next Thursday. I do not know how many times I will see it again LOL!

Its better then phantom menace and attack of the clones but nowhere near the originals.

First due to them dragging the last 2 movies they had to rush a lot of the story.

Unlike the rest star wars movies where we had a nice long intresting battles here there was so many numerous battles and not focued.

When i had the wookies where going to fight i said wow a nice long abttle where we see chewbacca and friends fight.

    Wrong!

It is the darkest movie of all but luckily the acting was so bad by anakin and padwe(spelling i hope is right) that i felt nothing but relief to see it end.

I would have expected some degree of acting from such a blockbuster but no i seen 10 year olds in a school play give a much better performance.

I buy the DVD to add to my collection but doubt you see me watch it more then once a year(have attack of clones for nearly 3 years watched it once).

Its worth watching but it AREN'T LOTR nor is it a classic like the oringals.

saw it last night, and it was pretty good. still a jedi fan though, the best parts are the special effects and computer generated graphics. they were perfect.

I haven't had a chance to see it yet, but a friend of mine called me and told me that he really wanted to like it, but was bored for the first 90 minutes.  He also said that Hayden Christiansen was pathetic as Mannequin Skywalker.  I never thought he was the most interesting character anyway.  I always liked Han Solo.  One of the coolest things about the first movie was the swashbuckling adventure style.  I didn't see any of that in TPM or AOTC, and from what I hear, there's none of it in ROTS.

I LIKE that! "mannequin Skywalker" ! Perfect way to put it! LOL! Hayden doesn't have the voice power to command a scene. Especially when it's just him. Or just him and 1 other person in a scene. You'll see when you see the movie.

About 1-2 years ago, on the official SWG forums, there was a BIG debate on what's missing in the newest 2 (3) Star Wars movies. Guess what all the SWG and SW fans concluded? Han Solo is missing.

Even I noticed back then. Han made fun of both the good guys, and bad guys. Almost every line Han said became an instant classic. He was the anti-cheese. "Yes your worshipfullness!" he says, making fun of Leia and mocking her. Showing his mockery for any one high ranked, anyone royal... rebels and imperials. (Mon Montha, etc...). Han makes fun of Obi-Wan. A Jedi Master! LOL!

Luke "More than you can imagine!"

Han "I don't know... I can imagine.... quite a lot."

How would you in your opinion define swashbucking?

  • stav1stav1 Member Posts: 282

Was not expecting much before i went to see ROTS. After all, both PM and AoC were very very disappointing.

But ROTS was really star wars at its best. Amazing battle scenes, emotional, dark and stirring. Really one of the best. I would rank it second, very slightly below Empire strikes back. Pretty damn awesome.

RoTS is a very good movie I saw it.

I agree with saying that Han Solo is one of the best characters in Star Wars! My favorite part is in a New Hope when he chases after the stormtroopers yelling and then he sees a ton of them then runs back the other way yelling.

Anyone who got bored for the first 90 minutes is not a real Star Wars fan. After 90 minutes, it's basically the really good fighting scenes.

It was really an excellent Star wars movie. I watched it all in order this weekend, first I watched episode 1 and 2 before I went to see 3. I got home and watched 4, 5, and 6(I've seen all of them before, btw). I have to say, here is my list of the movies ranked 1 to 6:

    1. Return of the Jedi
    2. Revenge of the Sith
    3. Empire Strikes back
    4. Attack of the Clones
    4. A New hope
    5. The Phantom Menace

I put two 4's because I can't decide between those 2. It's all just my opinion though, don't go all crazy and flame me just because you disagree.

I have to say i was extremly dissapointed in this film.  It was so cheesey and the acting was utterly diabolical, the only people that could actualy act where Christopher Lee and Samuel L Jackson.

I myself are a Star Wars fan and i just couldn't believe how bad it was.  Ok the fight scenes where done great but there was to much computer crap most of the time the actors wheren't even there it was all computers.

Its just the cheesyness of the whole thing that killed it for me......maybe i expected to much!

I have to agree, this episode had to be the worst of all 6 of them to me. It was horrible, I can't even begin to go into the points on why because it was bad on so many different fronts.

All I have to say was it was the last and the worst, so what George Lucas left me with for Star Wars was pretty bottom of the barrel. Maybe the new Clone Wars cartoons will hold more promise for me ::::04::.
