So when will we able to find out about the end game?

Quite clever of Riot to have an NDA for the endgame but it also raises the suspicion that the endgame is quite lackluster, otherwise why have an NDA for it?

In any case, how many beta events are there left and will the end game finally be revealed, and tested, then?

I think you mean Riot = Rift, no?

Very strange that you say NDA = crap endgame.

Please explain how you come to this conclusion?

Beta 7 ends on the 22nd, head start starts on the 24th.

If you think that 42 out of max 50 levels are not enough to know whether you like the game or not, you must be special.

Edit: (You as in the reader, not just the OP)

Open Beta (the last beta event) begins this Tuesday and lasts 6 days. Allows you up to lvl 42 of 50. After that the game is down for 3 days and then Early Start begins for those that pre-ordered.

The end game probably won't be revealed as you can only get to lvl 42 of 50.

Trion has delievered a polished product on all accounts so far (and one I personally find fun) that I have more reason to believe that they will deliever a polished (fun) end game. Their factual product  certainly carries more weight than your assumption that because there is an NDA, *queue scary music* something must be wrong!

Course, you may not have been following them as long as I have and you may not have gotten to experience the game as much as I have. Add that to what the industry "standard" of recent years has been and I can see why you'd make such an assumption.

It has been said they are more focused on end game, and have called the leveling and stuff getting you there fluff, that is what their main focus has been for a while now, and from the way they seem to listen and work on things, if I have to give someone the benefit of the doubt, I guess I would them.

It's not my dream game, as I like stuff with more sandbox, less quests ect...But for what it is, its a good game, and they seem to deliver on what they say they will.

We will see, but I imagine you will be able to find out about end game around either head start, or official launch day, they are probably going to be busy working on it, up until that point...So small things could change....Then I imagine they will be mainly focused on adding more end game (since that is their focus, and the rest was to get you use to the game).

How do you equate "suspicion that the endgame is quite lackluster".

To me saying it is crap?

What I am saying is why have an NDA if you dont have anything to hide? If they do have something to hide, i.e. the endgame, then why are they hiding it so close to launch?

For me that raises suspicion, I will not buy the game unless I get some more solid info about it.

  • XasapisXasapis Member RarePosts: 6,337

    ok.

Don't see how more solid info you can get than playing the game up to 42. Believing other people telling you how the game plays? Sure thing, I'll let you know a couple week after the game launches. Do you trust my opinion though? Or anybody else's besides yours for that matter?

  • AldersAlders Member RarePosts: 2,207

Did no one listen to the podcast where all of this was explained?

Unless people want exact specifics as to exact loot pools, mobs, encounters themselves, and guides to beating them, i don't understand what you're looking for.

Its just a figure of speech, not necesary to get anal about it.

If you are so unthrustworthy, even after the credibility these devs have been able to gather, you probably should wait on buying the game. Wise choice.

For me still having the nda up, means they are still testing things or maybe just don't want to spoil the surprise completely. A lot of valid reasons are possible tbh, not necessary a plot of the devs to hide a failing end-game.

There is a strong endgame in rift and it has been tested extensively. Just not by the mass sheep. Heaven forbid a game would try to keep part of the game as a surprise to give you a reason to explore it. I can't fathom why anyone would want to know everything about a game before they play it. What the hell is the point in playing it then? Your have nothing left to discover at that point. Its just a time sink and nothing more.

I think many of the engame questions are due to some mmo's tendancy to 'fund' content with box sales.  Some wonder if it's developed yet.

Riot is the developer for League of Legends and has nothing to do with Rift.

Also, Endgame has been tested by alpha testers for along time now. In beta, we get to play more and more content each event.

While us beta testers have not seen the endgame yet, I am pretty sure they will have enough to satisfy us at launch. This game is one of the most polished, complete games  at launch we have seen in the MMORPG industry ever.

You know reviews exists for a reason. If you should believe whatever the devs say about the game then all of them, including STO, would be awesome.

I need a critique to tell me what the end game is like and if it is good/bad or mediocre.

    Bingo!

    Hence my suspicion...

And yes I incorrectly said Riot instead of Rift. I am sure there is some Freudion slip in there but not sure where...

If you're talking about Rift, the head start begins February 23rd and the official launch is March 1st.

    * edit *
What we know is there will be "Heroic" versions of the ten 5 man dungeons. There will be 5 Man Rifts (at least six, one for each Plane), 10 man Rifts (at least six, one for each Plane) and two 20 man raids. The Rifts will be dynamic content. Exactly how they are dynamic was not explained, but I assume it's that you can find a tear, open it up wherever it is and hop in there to get your planar lootz. There may be different bosses or different stages to go through so you get more than the six different planar encounters.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

So mostly PvE endgame I gather from this?

PvE with an option to 'screw with' (Scott Hartsmans words) the enemy faction for any open world Event, Rift Raid, Over land Boss, etc...

There is at least 1 zone currently in game (beta) with a boss that spawns only as a result of PvP actions.

    According to PodCast #30  http://www.riftpodcast.com/

Elite Dungeons (L50) are now 20(? what he said but meant 5 man?) man only, no 10 man mode currently.

Raid Rifts are targeted at 10 man.

    Raid Instances are 20 man.

Later 10 man Elites and Raids, as well as Hard mode raids may be added.

Elite dungeons and Raids will be tiered, and will balanced to expect a gearing level of that tier.

    5 - Tier 1 Elite Dungeons (expects good L50 quest/crafted gear) [release]

5 - Tier 2 Elite Dungeons (expects T1 dungeon gear) [release]

    2 - Tier 1 Raid instances (expects T2 dungeon gear) 1 raid with 5 bosses, 1 with only 1. [5 boss - release. 1 boss 60 days]

1 - Tier 2 Raid instance (expects T1 Raid gear) with "double digits of bosses" [60 days]

6 - Raid Rifts (same rank as Tier 1 raids) no info as to lockout (summoning items already in Beta but faction and level limited)

    Lockout Timers:

    Dungeons - none

    Elite Dungeons - 1 day

    T1 Raids - 3 days

    T2 Raids - 1 week

You can reenter the instances, bosses on timers will still be dead, allowing you to proceed further at a later time.

    Stat Reqs:

Melee Hit - To-Hit bonus, none needed L1-50 and normal dungeons, scaling amounts in Elites and beyond.

Spell Focus - To-Hit bonus, none needed L1-50 and normal dungeons, scaling amounts in Elites and beyond.

Valor - PvP only. No function in Raids and Elite dungeons.

Toughness - Ability to resist the bonus damage from Crit Hits, none needed L1-50 and normal dungeons, scaling amounts in Elites and beyond.

nb: probably more I failed to note...

Where do you guys keep getting level 50 as the level cap for release? If you look at factional gear, top end crafted gear list, top end mounts, top skill levels  for raiding souls they all say level required level 70..

Not to mention there are alpha testers way past level 50..

OMG  for once a company wants us to have some new content at release that isnt posted in every game guide on ever game site, for once we have a company that wants us to actually have presents under the tree come christmas morning, and all you greedy self-centered, selfish, exploit seekers can think of is how unfair it is to you because you wont have an advantage over everyone else.

Shame on you and shame on all of you
