I guess you don't understand the purpose of ryzom-ring. It's not about new spells etc. it's about making your own world, placing your own creatures in it. Make huge landscapes etc. *drools*
Wow, this is some great new indeed. I played the Trial and liked the game but felt a little lost and lonely when I left noobie island so didnt continue playing. However, I will definately purchase a copy when this is out.
I went to read the info but there were so many words and hot females on the side so I got distracted. So I must admit I have no clue what you all are raving about.Anyways, whatever you all are talking about sounds pretty erm... sweet. I'll just go with the flow:
"Wow, it looks super awesome and I can't wait for this product to come out".
Now, back to the booth babes. If anything else comes up please post a link - and make sure it contains booth babes. Thanks.

Sounds good, but not really the best thing. Make my own World without players... that´s funny maybe without exp too.... we´ll see.
My idea as they talk of it like of zones is that it'll be handled like housing...everyone will be given a zone that they can do anything they want with
i hope you are right ^^^ Although hopefully exploits can be kept to a minimum. Itll be like our own land/ piece of Ryzom that we can do nearly anything we like with.
it all depends how they handle it. Consider also that the devs will be adding more planets to SoR as part of the 8 year project
I hope people have noticed that they expect you to pay to have your mods hosted. If you're really good they say they'll host for free or even pay you...but there are no details on any of these options.
I think part of the reason for the fee is also to prevent exploit and people making silly stuff. I am not too happy with the fee part also, but until they actually annouce how much it actually is, I'll reserve judgement.

Who says it's free? You have to actually play the game to get it.
Since SoR folks have a forum and seem to be hard of earring, I will repeat, again, in french, my interest and opinion toward SoR.
Non merci!
To many features I dislike. Enforcing raiding, lack of grind, PvP, is still enforcing, and I dont enjoy it in any form(I dont even recall what SoR is enforcing, but I recall it is enforcing at least 2 thingies I strongly dislike).

I think you're confused with WoW . WoW is enforcing raiding, has lack of grind, pvp. Saga of Ryzom is no raiding, has tons of things to grind, only pvp in few areas.

and you're not describing SoR when you say it enforces PvP. I dont think you should judge something until you actually know a bit more about it besides reading a synopsis of it. The review/summary on mmorpg.com is actually a bit incorrect on the mmorpg.com site.
SoR doesn't enforce *ANYTHING*. What it lacks *is* some sort of linear lead you by the hand thing and more contents, which will prbly be redeem soon. It is lacking Outposts (for now), and that age thing is prbly shelved. Only a selected few are interested in PvP, but it's only PvP for PvP sake right now. When outposts came out then mebbe it'll have more meaning, but again you don't have to PvP by avoid owning outposts altogether.

I was actually able to go to E3 this year and as I am a player of the game finding out about this expansion was my top priority. Some tidbits:
When is it due out? They are shooting for a Winter 05 release.
Will the game still be around then? I asked them this point blank. They didn't seem to like the fact I asked it, but told me that there is no doubt the game will be around then. Judging from the reaction to the question and the tone of their voice when they answered, I beleive them.

HAHA i love that you asked that! Valid question too.. So what if they didnt like it.. I'm sure it will be around for quite some time though. They have a solid team and a great game. Their only real failure has been marketing but you know players are the best marketing for the game. If players are happy with it you know it will catch on.

ooo, and this seems like a good thread to discuss modding in mmorpg.
Pros? Cons? What do you think they should watch out for, besides the obvious exploit? What other games would you like to be able to mod for?
Oh, and some initial screenshots and QA (if you can read french :P or use babelfish)
