Personally ive been playing eve since 2003 though but i never participate in hulkageddon's , simply not worth my time, and boasting with how many kills people have etc. and when you look through their killboard you see 75% of the kills they have is from attending hulkageddon 2-3 times a year.
pathetic tbh.
The real fight is in low sec as a -10 pirate or big scale pvp in 0.0 where i also live.
Griefing miners and collecting tears is fine, but i do that when someone is stupid enough to move a freighter through a low sec area me and my online buddies control

If the payout is worth more than the potencial loss then it's worth the risk.

Yeah okaaaay...
Read my post again. You see the bit where it says, "Why would you post on MMORPG about a game you obviously play."
To play it, he's obviously subbing. The whole post is clearly related to people who actually play a game and post here.
There's nothing worse than trying to post a smart comment but making yourself look ridiculous
I love to Mine and Haul. I don't need an unscheduled event (gank) or the fear of it to make it interesting.... but then I am a freak. I actually miss the old days before we got barges.
I am on a trial right now in EvE (I got the New Eden itch again) and to tell you all the truth only once in two days did I see/hear anything relating to Hulkageddon.
Seriously tell the gals and guys to step it up a notch because I couldn't even tell it was going on in Gal and Min High Sec and as the biggest Carebear ever to log into EvE you would think I would have been shaking in my boots. I felt completely at ease these last two days, even when a couple of hotshots followed me into a belt in a Gal starter system yesterday.
12 more days on a trial to see just how many bots/macros there are in EvE and I can assure you I have already seen plenty. Not good. I know CCP is making alot of money with all the bot/macro accounts but seriously... sometimes in the last two days I swear I was in an automated factory while playing the game... all the neat ships going to and fro so regular like.....no one but me and the machines/programs....
Get busy Hulkageddon. Forget going after the real players, get the damn bots already.
I never thought I would ever say that.

Hulkageddon isn't about killing macros, it's about killing real players and this is proven by the fact that they have prizes for the best miner tears. Macros don't cry about dying, they can't because they're macros and the person is probably afk.
Ah cute, new quests! Kill ten pitifull boars kill one defenseless hulk, get a reward.
Player made content. Participation is completely optional.
And given this is EvE i would be concenred about metagaming and extraction tears from your own alt. They need to double check with the miner the grief was real, questioning him meticulously about the experience and paying close attention to his emotional responses.
One of the features of the current hulkageddon is prizes for the best ganked miner tears. They're enticing players to not only grief random people by blowing them up but also verbally grief them further in hopes of getting "tears" from them. These are CCP's paying players being treated as garbage.
They've pushed things a bit too far this time, with this. Wouldn't you think CCP would do something about the organised griefing attempt? Seems they don't care to uphold the eula.
I think i found miner tears here
Currently Playing: Rift + Starcraft II + Gears Of War 3 Beta
this is why hulkageddon was made....just for this. Bears don't lose ships, except for a few reasons...thus they don't deal with it very well. Listen to that guy...he is that angry over a Hulk? Imagine if he lost an Anshar full of loot...or a Aeon? He might throw his monitor out a window.
"You don't play this game with my people", "I'm taking this to you personally", "you are going to end up with a big stick up your ass", "you don't understand this at all"...blah blah blah...
I wish that all players had to use VOIP or EvE Voice and if they were engaged in PvP, it auto-recorded...and was included in the killmail. Listening to those could occupy hours of time.
EDIT: I let this run til the end...and it gets even better. I really enjoyed the i'm going to get a real life lawyer to sue you and tie up your life for years...I have several lawyers on retainer....I am a server owner and b/c I have your IP, I'll get you banned for harrassment. He went all out...thanks for posting this..I miss these.

CCP has from day 1 promoted and encouraged griefing. That is why I stay well clear of the game, because even though I prefer sandbox FFA PvP games, I dont support griefing.
It is a shame really because it gives FFA PvP MMOGs a bad game, like it is only about griefing.

For one thing, I post here quite often when prospective players ask about the game.
Interestingly, others seem to make it their mission to stop these prospective players from even trying EVE.

Join a corp just to blow up the corp Hulk. That is class for you, pretty much sums up the playerbase of Eve.
It's a game. More importantly, the angry guy is threatening him with RL litigation, server IP attacks, years of angry retaliation over what? A hulk? If you listen to it..the guy that made the recording wasn't properly vetted, he and one of his friends were recruited, given access, and no one seemed to care. The poster even stated that he was hoping that they left one of their Orca's out so he could steal it.
To be honest, the poster wasted a valuable opportunity to do some real damage. You don't realize that he could have gotten more of his friends in, completely cleaned them out, offlined their POS's, etc etc..what did he do? Popped a hulk....b/c he was just fooling around.
All the poster has to do is, send these chatlogs to CCP and the player that threatened him could face a RL ban b/c he threatened him OOG. Over a hulk. You crybabies should see what happens when someone collapses an alliance from within, or a dev gets caught helping an ingame alliance..or the other hundreds of scandals.
The OP sent in a link of VOIP chat infiltrating an obvious newb corp, and he taught them a valuable lesson. Him not docking up, which keeps the parent corp from kicking him is just funny. Just ignore him, have everyone put him in their friends list, and everyone set him to red. Easily solved.
Thanks again OP...that is why I love this game.

So what if it is a game? You cannot show class in a game? For example, in tennis there is nothing preventing you to smash right on your opponent, yet most people dont do it because they have class.
Just because you can do something, does not mean you should. But like I said, Eves playerbase is as bad as it gets and this shows both sides really. The jerk that was just "fooling around" and the crazy nut who overreacts when he should not be playing in a game that obviously encourages this kind of behaviour.

How does that show a lack of class? Granted its more effort than I'd want to put into blowing up a hulk but it still seems given the context of the game (corporations at war with each other) like a pretty slick move.
Also, assuming for the sake of argument that it is a classless move, how does that person's actions sum up the entire playerbase? Is the playerbase of each game to be judged by the actions of one player? What about me? I didn't join a corp to blow up a hulk, isn't that classy? Why doesn't that sum up the playerbase?
Hulkageddon isn't about killing macros, it's about killing real players and this is proven by the fact that they have prizes for the best miner tears. Macros don't cry about dying, they can't because they're macros and the person is probably afk.
Part of the game is players fighting. What is the problem?

First, if you dont see how joining a corp just to blow up a Hulk shows a lack of class (no mention of being in war or anything) then there is no point of me explaining it to you.
As for the second one, I played Eve for quite a while and this kind of behaviour is not uncommon, it happens all the time. Scamming and griefing is just rampant in this game and the main reason I left. It is a game after all and I dont feel playing a game with a bunch of jerks.

Tears, followed by morality, followed by psychology of said players involved....it never ends. You are paying to be one ONE single server universe. YOU are paying CCP b/c you want that.
I disagree with EvE having the worst playerbase..DF was pretty bad, but tolerable. Any game that allows you to attack other players in an Open PvP enviroment is always going to illicit this response.
Perspective is everything, I guess. I witness people in my field get maimed, killed, horrible things. I come on these forums and listen to a recording of a guy that is threatening years of retaliation over a video game...really?

Besides, have you seen eveo? The mmorpg.com swg bitter vet subforum is more pleasant than this.
