They are adding RAID Rifts to this equasion. Theese are rifts beyond the ordinary ones of fire, water, life, earth, and death rifts! Imagine what these coding gods of Trion could come up with for this game after launch. This game has the potential to add just about anything the commuity can come up with as well and Trion so far has done an excellent job of trying to implement gameplay to what the players want.
And please guys ..this is a new game that is and will be in a development stage for some time after release. Don't try to max lvl and power lvl to the end right now ... Enjoy the journey, explore, mingle, socialize(They will chat if you bug em enough), craft, gather materials, learn the economy via Auction House and chat trade, join a guild ... Play some alts cause in BETA everychar I made and experimented with was totally different than the previous one. The soul tree is amazing as far as creating alts go. Excellent replay idea! Take your time and that way by the time you do reach endgame the guys over at Trion will have had some time to really make this game shine. I feel it in my bones that the end game here is gonna be awesome fun shit! Don't fail us Trion!
I tried this in open beta (though only for the last couple of days), I could see it was something differant to play, it may get a few players over but wont keep them interested above 6mths, they will tend to drift away from it back to their old home again. However, right now i would say this one is pretty much one of the better ones but will jut be classed as somewhere to go for something differant for a month or two.
Sigh...... did you people even read my post? It seems over 70% of the people responding to my post don't even get the fact that I'm not talking about RIFT the game as a whole, I'm talking about the rifts IN the game. You know those big things that come down from the sky and spew out monsters? THOSE are what I'm saying looks like it will get old real quick. Hell, after 2 nights I've already seen the exact same rift like 10 times each and I'm NOT exaggerating. The zone wide events are pretty cool, but they are still the same thing, just a BUNCH of rifts or invasions, all of which are the same thing...........
Yes rift will keep you busy for about one or two months. Then you'll stay subbed because of your efforts. Maybe buy some dlc. Anyway, well, the beta's & head-start where/are full of rmt already, you could always jump on the bandwagon and start a company as well. What a waste of my money.
Tried rift in beta , thought it was ok nothing close to special certainly not good enough to shell out 50 and then 15 every month, tired of spending hard earned money on mediocre content
I like the game, it fun. But I don't think it will have any replayability. I have a character on the good and evil side. Once they go through the game, I don't think I want to invest the time in another toon to go through the whole thing again.
I don't know this for sure, because I'm still a low level, but if the linear progression mechanic continues like its doing at the low levels, the above statement will probably be true.
