Backlit Gaming Keyboard are another thing.

The Razer one that I thought I wanted has a lot of neg. reviews. It also has a lot of good ones.

Could you possibly be a little more descriptive about what you want to get out of posting in the mmorpg(dot)com forums? Just a little. We're almost psychic, but not 100%.

Razer has good products, bad reviews or not. Personally, I think they feel funny. Too soft & buttons aren't raised very high.

I have a G15 because it has more of a standard keyboard feel and is backlit. I don't really use the LCD screen or macros at all. They are fairly cheap now, I think I got mine at BestBuy for around $60.

Do you want to buy one? Stay away from Razer, keyboards wise. I had one. Had to send it back twice because keys just failed. It was the Razer Lycosa. Then I bought the Roccat Valo. Even worse.

Now I have the Logitech G19, and what a holy keyboard.

On the other hand I've had a Lycosa for 2+ yrs with 0 problems.  I also use a lachesis and n52te made by Razer and have not had any problems with those products either.

I use the Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard and have had it for several years, you can't go wrong with it!

I used several keyboards throughout the years. Had the Razer Lycose, quite a good keyboard but you have to like it. Has a strange touch. Also it locked from time to time. Had the Logitech g110 but I did not like it much. Did not like the touch of the keys. Now I have the steelseries g6v2 mechanical keyboard. Quite a good thing. Has no backlit nor even extra keys like the g110 has, but is damn good. I connect it thru ps2, which gives some advantages over usb.

Played: Guild Wars, AoC, Lotro, CoH, Warhammer, Tabula Ras, Spellborn, Second Life, Rift, Aion, Tera.
    Playing: Guild Wars 2, WoT

Backlit Gaming Keyboard, less than $100.00, preferably.

Don't care about the brand, Logitech or Razer, as long it works. Well.

Still have my G15 I got when they first came out. Tough as hell and can take a beating! I've smashed the crap out of it and only broke one of the feet on it. It has two backlight settings low and high. I would highly recommend one.

The Lycosa had some manufacturing issues, which have apparently been fixed. It is a good 'base' keyboard but the numbers/letters can be difficult to see.

You almost can't go wrong with the Logitech keyboards. The latest batch of gaming keyboards (with and without a digital display) have built in usb sound cards, which is very useful for headsets. You can plug your headset into your keyboard instead of running the cable to your PC.

I have a Saitek Cyborg keyboard and I've been very happy with it. It doesn't have any extra macro buttons, but I haven't needed them. The keyboard has worked flawlessly through standard gaming and through bouts of nerdrage.

I will throw my hat in with the Logitech G15. I've had mine for years now and it's never failed me. Pretty standard layout, the back lighting has stayed strong, the programmable keys are useful and the LCD screen is nice. You can get them really cheap now if you can find them. The spiritual successor to the G15 is the Logitech G510. It looks very similar, and I've heard good things about it. If you look you can find them for just under $100. I'm sorry though, if you want quality, you have to pay for it, otherwise you're in for a crapshoot as to how long it will last... Like I said, I had my G15 for years and it's never broken, so it pays for itself...

A buddy of mine has had a Lycosa since it came out. Whenever that was, I'm pretty sure he's had it since at least 2006.

I can't speak to the G510 but if it's anything like the G15 then it's a really rugged keyboard with the possible exception of the wrist support.

I will add support for the G15. . it works great has good features (That I never use).  The reason I got it was it was actually the cheapest backlit keyboard I could find.  I think I paid $50-$60 Canadian. . . when our currency was worth a lot less that is.

EDIT:  I do use the slider that disables the windows key.  Love that.

EDIT 2:  Oh I also use the USB slots. . one for my wireless mouse adaptor so it is right beside the mouse and the other for memory sticks.

Unfortunately I have dropped mine many times. .  no cracks. . no issues. . I also found out my cat has been sleeping on it. . still going after about 2 years.

I've owned one of these for the past couple years: http://www.cyborggaming.com/prod/v7keyboard.htm

Haven't had any issues. Really happy with it. Customizable color layouts, 12 programmable buttons, media control (the volume controls are awesome). Really nice keyboard.

That looks awesome.   Reminds me of a C64 for some reason. . very 80s BattleStar Galactica.   I have only had one Cyborg product (EVO flight stick)  I loved that as well.

I have a G15, it's fine but there's a couple things I don't like too much with it. I don't care for the 6 macro keys on the left side, they're more in the way than anything (sometimes hit a macro key when I reach for Esc). They'd be better if they weren't the same shape and design as normal keys I think - like buttons instead of keys.

Also the buttons for media control by the LCD screen feel plastic and cheap and don't depress well, they kinda click down instead of press in.

Lastly I was expecting a gaming keyboard to not have an issue with multiple key presses locking each other out like cheap keyboards do, but if I hold 3 certain keys together one of them won't work (my push to talk key, run forward key and my bag key I think - bag key won't work)

They're minor things but when I'm spending that much money on a keyboard I'd expect perfection :)

I don't think any keyboard will be perfect though so just think about the layout and pick which one you think is going to be most convenient to use.

G15 is better for the LCD screen and Gkeys, if you don't plan on using those.

Then the MERC Stealth 2 is pretty ba, seperate WASD keys and num keys and commonly used keys for fps and mmos to the left, still with normal keypad and numpad on the right..

    i have both.

The Logitech G15 is a really nice keyboard, I certainly won't lie there. Other than a few select mechanical keyboards (which are, of course, in a whole different price range typically), they're about as nice as you're going to get.

On the other hand, you can expect to pay well over $100 for one, new, and close to that much used. On a budget, I've found the Microsoft Sidewinder keyboards to be rather nice, from the nice backlighting to the easily accessible macros. The X4 can be had for about $40, and the X6 for about $50.

I like the Saitek keyboards.  Gaming keyboard would be the Saitek Cyborg.  What impresses me about these keyboards is the robustness of the keypresses.  It has a nice feel to it compared to the Logitechs I have had in the past.

Personally, I don't recommend most logitech keyboards.  I love their mouses, but alot of their devices just die on me.  Ontop of it their additional software sometimes has problems working with anti-viruses and mmos.

I use the Saitek Cyborg V7 Keyboard had it a while now , the only reason to use backlighting on a keyboard is if your going to be sitting in the dark...... and i have to admit i dont sit in the dark very often...

    Saitek Cyborg V7

I've ordered a new keyboard it should be here on saturday it might look plane but its amazing.
