I think there should be more school chats. If possible, a chat room for each branch of school -- beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
The customer service is also horrible; emails are frequently delayed, riddled with error messages, and sent back. When a response is given it's usually generic and not helpful. A suggestion would be in game GMs, or in game petitions.
I see regarding school chat I have put in a request for this that players who are in bazaar status in school chat should be dropped within a certain period of time. due to the number of alternate charters being used as vendors
this has been one complaint of the players since CBT and I do agree on your suggestion. for one I can no longer enter school chat to since my level no longer permits me to enter it automatically and find it difficult to assist the new players
I will also give them the feed back on your post about their customer support it would be possible for me to give them a direct link to this thread.
we also have requested for announcements of the GA system most players don't even know of our existence. From time to time we would like them to announce that there is a GA online prepared to give assistance for any questions a player may have
while we too are ordinary players we have volunteered to assist the community feel free to PM me anytime I will try to help you with the best of my capabilities

Hey, this is great. I've really promoted this game, but had to give very low points on customer service in the ratings section. This is great initiative by yourself, and I'm glad you started this thread. I'm enjoying the social aspect to this game, and have even gotten into the habit of buying low level ships to give freely to new players. (Now that I started a company I'm giving them to new members who have just recently started the game.) My character name is Merriwether, and if i can be of help let me know. I agree on making the school chat more accessible to new players, perhaps by opening up additional chats so that everyone can participate and not just the first 100 to get in. Also I think GMs should always be able to join regardless of level and not be counted as part of the total, so that they are more accessible to beginning players.

I'm glad you mentioned that, it's something that we GA'a have already taken up with Netmarble.
In fact extra national / global chat channels is top of our priority list which we believe Koei are planning to introduce later this year.
hi, just started playing UWO great game but only one problem....keeps crashing (random intervals)!!!!
gameguard error:230 is apparantly the reason why i cant play smoothly
keeps coming up and ruining the game experience and not sure how to fix it either..
if any1 kno plz advice thanks ^^
Here's a good game play suggestion . . . liners. They are expensive but don't really add that much benefit to traveling. They should make trips much faster for the price, and even more expensive for really fast travel.
this is usually caused by running 3rd party applications in the backgroud it also commonly happens to players who use AVG try to close your background applications that are unused and see what happens now if you are uning AVG just add uwo to the allow list
Ok, here are some huge suggestions regarding playing poker in the game. Today for instance, we had huge game all day with different players joining up at different times. We had rank 1 then rank 2 card deck for higher stakes. It was fun, but one thing lacking is fame/exp. for the effort. I think having poker player as a viable trade or adventure type of job would be awesome. Favoured skills could be sociability, frugality, ect. Even if the experience and fame rewards were small, that would get more games more frequently, and certainly add to the overall world immersion. I also think having higher ranked card decks are a great idea, but would love the higher rankings to allow more to the maximum players allowed in, capping out at 9 or 10 max. Anyone else have an opinion on this? (and i do realize texas holdem would be tough to have in this type of game. So i won't even suggest it.)

adventurers collect cards depending on each discovery they make and use them to battle each other s
there are a lot of other mini games like Dueling on land too
you can also do ship mock battles but you really lose sailors and durability one freature that I suggest to have them fix
I am really glad to see that the game launcher now lets people know who the GMs are as the game launches!
Now makes it easier for people to contact you guys ingame! Was surprised to see the list of GMs so much shorter than it was at launch, but on the other hand it sounds like a smaller group that is much more dedicated to helping new players is probably for the best!
One of my reservations last fall was that it seemed the only direct contact GMs had, was by players who already knew them (or at least how to contact them via email or ingame /tell). I think being so much more accessible to the general player base is a very pleasant improvement from last fall!
Now they just need to fix it so GMs can permanently autojoin the school chat, I am puzzled why it isn't like that by default.
I know Aika, Wolfe, Joao & Willbonney -- are hanshin & Davincio recent additions, or rerolled names of some of the beta players? (Or am I just getting old & forgetful?) Going to add you all to my friends list if thats ok ^_^

Oh one suggestion/complaint. Usage of hieroglyphs is allowed as we see from names of players around us, but usage of our own european special characters like ä ö ü õ isn't allowed(most nations in Europe have them).
I don't mean, that it should be allowed to use them in names, but chatting in company channel in native language is a pain, when you have to think replacements for your characters all the time.
I'm not a big fan of the debate system yet. I enjoy playing poker but think the game needs major improvements to that aspect. Some experience and fame would be nice for starters.
Actually I think they no longer allow new characters with asian or special characters. I was kind of against allowing those in beta since you'd never be able to block a spammer if you could not type their name, and it would be hard to report someone whose name you couldn't write.
Anyway at least now it is consistent, no one can use them any more, though apparently older characters are grandfathered in.
I can sympathize with having a hard time chatting in private with others using non-english language, I think they should be allowed in private chat channels (such as fleet/company) just not in names or public chats like local or school. I guess though as long as english is the official supported language, they just found it easier to remove all special characters rather than have to think of all the possible impacts of allowing them in some situations but not others.

the special character names are no longer allowed and NM is giving them the free option to have it changed but this service is voluntary, so it depends on the player if they want to avail for the service
I agree, that character names should be free from special characters. But I don't think there is any questions about chat itself. Try to remove 3-4 characters from your keyboard and try to chat, then you know how we, who have special characters in our alphabet, feel. it is a pain, when you write, press a key and no letter appear, it is like trying to write with broken keyboard.
That I understand, that when someone could use special characters in the names, it would cause a lot of trouble. But that's why in other MMOs you can't use special characters in names(you can't use even numbers in names). But when special characters are disabled in names, that doesn't necessarily mean, that they are disabled in chat.
I see what sort of special characters do you use in the game? can you give a a few examples
I'm really interested in this game, but....do I have to use my ship for fighting or can I simply travel for trading and such? I guess what I'm really asking is....
What sorts of characters can I portray? Say I don't want to be a criminal or pirate....what are my other options?
I'm on the verge of downloading the game. I'm very intrigued, but still have some simple questions like the above.
EDIT: Nevermind my stupid questions. LOL I just went to the site and read about the classes. I still have more stupid questions, but they're not QUITE as dumb, I hope. lol Most of the time I find if I just browse around and read I can answer them myself anyway.
I'm downloading the game now and looking forward to seeing you all there. I can't quite figure out where to add the game as an exception in AVG though, so I'm a bit worried about disconnects being a potential problem. Maybe one of you can help me with that? While I was downloading the game it showed up as malware....I just allowed it anyway, and although that makes me uncomfortable, I have had problems with other Asian made games and that before and it was never an issue.
Suggestions?

I believe they fixed it to work with AVG, at the same time knocked out AVast anti-virus.
Using symantec norton, never had an issue.
