SWTOR and Release Date

Seems that SWTOR  follows the marking tricks other games did with overfloated hype and expectations. Novelty Release Dates aswell.

A Year ago they "promised" the game will be available in Spring 2011. Wel Spring came and no coucou was heard.

Seems to me its only a wishful thinking to keep hopes up for a release this season. If i were to take a bet i would say comming Autumn or even the period prio Christmas.

What say you?

    Spring isnt even over yet......

but that being said I thought i saw something posted a day or two ago saying it was pushed to sept. Hopefully they are working every bug out they can and taking input from all over to change few things to make it as good as it is being hyped

Over?! hell spring hasnt even started yet

Personally i can wait if its going to make the game better. Id hate to see them rush it and have a bad product then drag it our and it be great. KOTOR 2 was rushed and even though the game was good you can tell at the end they rushed it.

Well i don't know when spring is in other countries but in the US spring don't start till March 20th which is 15 days away from now.

That is just the start of it. it goes all the way in i think mid june before it flips over to summer.

As for swtor? yeah i'd prefer well done over sooner, but i don't see anything saying it's going to be pushed back.  The window has been widened to mimic what Ea is saying (cause two people from the same game saying two different things is not good, causes confusion) but it's still entirely possible to release in spring.

Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.

Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.

Spring has not come and gone...that said, look for a Winter release date...and for this game to live up to all of the hype (I've beta tested it, fyi)

I strongly suggest you go over to the SWTOR official forums and have a read of their forums about release dates, you'd be surprised how wrong your post is.

Also as many here have pointed out, Spring has not Sprung yet, you've still a few more weeks before we enter Spring and then its on for a few months.

Not to mention they didn't 'promise' anything of the sort. All they have ever said is that Spring is their target for release. There's a big difference between a target date and an actual official release date, something we have never had and still don't.

Hopefully we'll hear something official during PAX East, but I'm beginning to doubt it. If they planned such an announcement at the very least they'd be hinting at some sort of special announcement.

I bet they'll release the game when they run out of money...

Let's go make a heist on Bioware...:-)

  • gambe1gambe1 Member UncommonPosts: 123

Imo they should release it when it's ready, even if they will push realease for 6 months or more.

I think everyone on this thread is missing the point of the original post.

    What the heck is 'coucou'?

We will know one way or another next weekend at Pax East. Earther they anounce a May/June release date or if not it's Sept or later.

  • chopgrchopgr Member Posts: 179

While there is still hope for a Spring release, this info would have been released allready.

Such announcements are made somewhere like 3 months prio release and this period has passed and gone imo.

Coucou is not a baboon in any case.

Another pointless post ; I think we should turn this into a post regarding the four seasons that are globally recognised and the concept of what a year is:

The four seasons start and end when

    • the earth is facing towards the sun

    • away from the sun

    • half way near the sun

Spring starts on the 21st of March and ends on the 21st of June.

Winter starts on the 23rd of December and ends on the 21st of February.

Summer starts on June 21st and ends on September 23 rd.

Fall /autumn starts on September 23rd and it ends on 23rd of December.

they've actually put a bracket on this one so a more defined sense of dissappointment will happen if its after 2011

the release date is anyone's guess. I been hearing that it got pushed back to October 2011 but my personal feeling is that we will not see it until first quarter 2012....not that it's a bad thing either.
  • harvest151harvest151 Member UncommonPosts: 217

A: Wait for PAX. We might get a CONFIRMED release date and not some bullshit you whipped out of your ass like a streetfighter pulling a switchblad in a bad 80's movie.

B: Learn to read a calendar. There are 15 days left until spring even begins.

C: There are way more constructive things to whine like a spoiled ass brat about in SWTOR. Release date is just about #64,233 on the list of important shit at this point.

Is a coucou like a groundhog, but for game release dates rather than seasonal weather?  I would say if no coucou was heard....this could be the sign of a release date that is further away.....
