No update today. Since I haven't really got to stay logged in much since the first day I am going to take a break from this journal. Maybe if they get some semblance of server stability back before the trial expires I will continue, but at this point I don't have any ambition to even try and login.

I've read that the Torque engine is built in a way to make network stability much easier. So I'm guessing the Unreal Engine is harder to turn into a MMO and SV is haven't a really hard time making it happen hince why they often have to goto Epic to get help.
Funny how every other developer using UE doesn't have MO's problems.
Bottom line is that SV are not very good programmers. Their prior experience was in simple modding and any developer will tell you that is chalk and cheese to MMO development.
To be fair, there aren't that many other Unreal Engine MMOs out there. Mainly because It's too much of a resource hog to develop on a large scale.
If they were real programmers with any sort of skill they would have known that, and if they had any sort of skill they wouldn't be tied down to Unreal because that was the only language they knew. Real programmers can pick up any language and master it within a short period of time.

If you have a problem with a post, report it to a moderator instead of attempting to derail valid discussions. I don't want to do that, and mods don't want to have to deal with your nonsense, so just stop it.
On topic, you have to resort to APB as the game using UE that failed? That is the best you can do? Heh. APB's failures are well documented and had nothing to do with the UE engine.
Do you really think Epic could sell UE on the scale it has, in the variety of implementations it has, if the problem was UE? Absolute rubbish and an excuse for the lack of talent at MO.

The patcher is ok, I never had problem with it. The only one that had problem with it seems to be those who don't use it, like you.

The point is you never know how you can be sure of your customers' technical knowledge.

In fact you need quite a lot knowledge to find why it did not work. Since It the launch works just fine for me, some one has to convince me that he really has a problem. remote assistens for example could be used to get help.

Im really interested in this game, i know its struggling a bit, well sv are anyway, but i really want to see it as it is now, from the start, cant play it until end of next week building a pc and waiting for parts, but a videa would be nice keep us posted.

Sorry to hear that. I know some people have problems but no one seems to know what exact is the root of the problem. SV had confirmed once that the service provider had capacity problems but that was corrected.
Maybe you should check your internet connection etc also and at the same time write a support request on MOFO?
By the way, you may test your intenet speed using this site http://www.speedtest.net/. Try to find a server near Stockholm, Sweden, because it is the place game servers are located, I believe.
