Ive played for 5days not actual game time just over 5days and got to lv15. I dunno Im finding the questing boring as hell. Rifts and invasions are ok. Maybe I'll be happier when I get to the first instance. So far its like hmmm its okish.
Not sure how many hours, but my bard is 16 now. I'd guess somewhere around 7-8. It's been a lot of waiting for my friends. The events do a pretty good job of breaking up the tedium of quests.
One of the concerns I had in the beta was leveling may be too fast . Am planning to play this in a couple of months and I hope I'm wrong . I guess its ok if the endgame contents there but with two start zones and going through the same areas and quests again might get boring after your second or third alt . Its not exactly a deal breaker for me and wont stop me playing the game but it could effect the amount of time I play . I would proberbly return when expansions and new contents out but I'm not not sure if this would lead me to leaving within the initial few months of play for a break .
Feel free to check your played-hours status with using the /played command ingame in the chatbox whenever you get the chance, and then post your level and number of hours played here
The more concrete data that is available, the better an average can be determined.
As a trivia, WoW vanilla and AOC seemed to take 200-250 hours to level cap, WoW in later years only half that time, LotrO also seems to take about 250 hours to level cap.
The fastest speed leveler needed 320 hours to reach level cap in Aion and 200 hours in TERA. To reach level cap in early Everquest was said to take around 1500 hours.
Games like GW, DCUO and CO of course only needed a fraction of that time, I think they all clocked easily under 100 hours to reach level cap.

I've been playing since March 4th. I've reached 15-18 on multiple toons but I keep deleting them and re-rolling trying to find something I like. Right now I am down to one cleric that just hit 16 this morning after 5 hours of play.

Just curious but why bother deleting them?
Surely you just need 4 different characters to cover all the classes available, and with roles I don't understand why you feel the need to delete a char before starting again.
My initial guess would be because of the name. Other than that, I think some people haven't gotten that once you are a warrior you can be any warrior.
For instance, I prefer to play tougher tankey type of warriors. However, I hate tanking for groups. So I beefed up my champion spec and also added paragon just to see what that was like.
Other than aesthetics one only needs 4 characters max.

5 hours to 16? What were you doing? I rammed through quests as fast as possible and only rifted once and IT once and got to level 19 in 14 hours. 5 hours to 16 seems awfully fast, I must be doing something wrong. heh
I have been playing very VERY casually. Stopping in town to chat, trade skills, rifting my butt off. and I am only lv 27 >_< . Told myself it was time to focus on getting some levels.
Don't forget that Beta for Rift were very packed - So quite a few people already had a grasp on a lot. I did open beta but didn't play past lv 10. So I was still new to a lot.
People are level 50 already? Ah yeah, thats right, beta gave them the opportunity to learn the game inside and out, giving them the ability to power-game through all the levels, reach end game, power-game through it, then complain there isn't enough content.
Makes sense to me.

Name/appearance mostly, and once because I decided I liked the Defiant side better.

5 hours, 26 minutes and 19 seconds to be exact. I have just 58 planarite and 2 corrupted soulshards so most of it was from questing.
I've been at it since headstart... got my rouge to lvl 17 then realized i enjoyed my cleric more. So my cleric is level 19. Also have a lvl 10 warrior on a different shard that I play when Feablight is backjammed with people trying to log in.
Some people are missing the question, how many hours played to get to your most recent level. Just type /played in game, that's the info you want to get when you ding.
So, last two levels averaged 5 hours play time. I admit, a little faster than I would prefer. However, my build is extremely efficient and allows safe AoE combat, so I'm sure those levels came quicker than they would for some builds.
Played since the open beta, pre-ordered the game and been playing casually since the head start.
I'm lvl 32 with about 3days played.
Playing a Ranger/Bard/Bladedancer as my main and while squishy I find this a nice balance between my style and what I like to do with my character.
My off-spec is riftstalker, bladedancer, bard and it can tank very well, by lvl 25 it had really started to shine imho.
I personally find the game to themepark and wish it had more sandbox stuff to do.
Why can't you level from crafting? Why can't we have player housing or fishing? will they add an appearance tab?
Will they give a guildhall?
I want a better crafting system forsure and want more stuff to do endgame than fighting rifts, raiding or running dungeons.
It's time mmo's started getting the social element right with stuff to do that does not involve fighting all the time.
edit: the zones are giving me a boxed in feeling since Freemarch and I hope the next zone opens up and has more options... I'm in Scarlet Gorge right now.
