I found the pets lifeless and inanimate. That was one of the main reasons I couldn't continue the game, because my hunter felt like he had a plastic toy boar for a pet.
Do melee pet classes get different kinds of pets? That could be interesting.
OK, I am really confused on how the class system works. I understand there is a calling you pick and I am assuming that the majority of your abilities come from your calling. So if I pick warrior I can do melee damage as well as tank. Then I can pick beastmaster too and have a pet then some shaman for debuffs/heals or whatever they do in this game? I would have access to all that while playing?
You just had to go there didn't you? Sigh. Now everytime I play Rift I'm going to be thinking my toon is just the guy from "If You Could See What I hear" in tiny leather shorts. YOU HEARTLESS BASTARD!!
My main spec is Beastmaster, padded out with a bit of Champion and Rfitblade, to me it actually feels more like this:
"Gypsies, tramps, and thieves, we were called by the Admin of the site . . . "

Not quite...
Hmm, probably a self portrait then. Very nice.
