Hey guys.
I have a friend and he plays rift he says it's awesome so I am thinking about buying it too.
I already played wow before but wow had bad graphics and I stopped playing it.
Is rift worth playing and paying 50 euro's for it?
Are there also people who have bad experience with this?
I like lvling but in some reviews i saw that there is some overpowered stuff, I don't like overpowered stuff because if you spended really much time on a character and you discover it's underpowered you feel kinda fu****
Do the classes get boring and are there many dungeons you can do or kill any other players?
Thanks.

if you like wow then you will like this, when you get bored to this then you will like wow again.
Generation P
It's a great game, simple as that.
Levelling is fun and classes have real flavour thanks to the sub classes you can choose. Additionally, if you get bored, you can rebuild your class for fun and giggles while keeping your tried and tested main spec in tact.
Dungeons, lots, players to kill, lots.
Rift could be described as WoW 2.0, it's better graphics, better sound, better atmospherics, same basic UI and game structure. Obviously it's a diffrent game with different races, lore etc, but at the very basic level, it draws it's core from WoW, WAR, EQ2, Aion and a multitude of other themepark mmo's. Trick is, Rift does everything these other games do equally well or better.
Simply put, it's one of those rare games that is fun right out of the box. More fun if you have friends to play with.
Expresso gave me a Hearthstone beta key.....I'm so happy
Look, if you don't have expectations of playing it for months (even years) why not buy it?
From my expoerience this game has 2-3 months appeal.
So if you are not going to be upset investing your time in developing a character you will never play again, then of course it is worth buying it.
I would buy Dragon Age 2 instead, but if you don't mind buying a MMORPG with th longevity of a single player game why not?
It's worth buying because you can't name me one MMORPG that is worth buying right now other than this one.
Unless you want to wait ( key word wait ) for another MMORPG to be developed , this is as good as it gets.
WoW is a bit old now , time to move on.
You won't have to worry about choosing a lame class, as once you reach level 13, if I remember right, you can start Soul quests to recieve all the other souls in a Role (you can unlock the Souls under Mage catagory). You use 3 Souls at a time to mix and match which skills/abilities you want to use at any given character set up. I've played just about every Soul and the only one I didn't like was a Mage that didn't have a pet. There are several pet souls, so it's easy to find one you'll like, if you play a mage. Clerics are rather slow going although while soloing you almost never die. Rogues kill the fastest, except for Bard (Champion on Warrior kills pretty fast too.) Warriors are a half and half of Rogues and Clerics. Some Souls can do more damage than others, but sacrifice survivability. About half the warriors are tanks and half are dps.
Anyways, one of the best things about Rift is how the Rift system and invasions work. I haven't paid much attention to the time frame, but it seems like every 1-2 hours there will be a Zone-wide Invasion quest that automatically pops up, depending on the zone you're in. You don't have to participate if you don't want to, but having a 100man raid (highest I've seen was around 120, 6 20man raid groups.) bringing down some ungodly beast is just plain fun. Grouping works easy during Rifts and Invasions. A button will appear and you just click on it and you're in (there's also private groups, but not as fun unless you're with friends). There's also plenty of dungeons to explore and fight baddies in. Gear doesn't seem to be that much of a problem, as crafting is very easy (no crafting 1000 of an item to level, more like 10-15 max.).
Overall, I plan on sticking around for a long time. Trion seems to be doing good behind the scenes as well. One of my biggest erks about MMOs is the delay in fixes and content (and they never seem to get the server down time right). Trion has already had 6 fix updates (mainly just minor stuff), and 1 big update. Everytime the server was up earlier than the time posted.
Rifts are not time based but that IS a factor. More importantly, population size dictates a part of the challenge. For example, you may have a MAJOR invasion that is the Hand or something silly. Kill x Rifts, stop x Invasions, Kill Hand. But the MASSIVE ones like Jakob (spawning about 20 Rifts over the land, kill 4 arch-bosses (bosses from the smaller invasions mind you), destroy x wards, kill uber-boss). And they have them for each of the planes (earth, air, fire, water, death, life) but you only see a type or two in a particular region (atleast the starter regions)
It's like WOW on Vitamins ( not steroids ). It's alot of grinding and quests. Graphics are good and the raids wont over tax most CPU built within the past 3 years. But it does get boring fast. from what I've seen it needs more content and more humor in the game. If you can I would wait a year for the price to go down. it currently is not a very good bargain. Good luck and happy gaming.
thanks for all your reactions.
I think ill wait a while till it prices off because i bought my wow for 5 euro lol.
I fortunalty have been an MMORPG fan for years, since the days of the Gold Box series on the C64. I filter through the writings of forum patrons, website authors, and any publication of new games released or upcoming. I try them all if I can and few grab my attention and keep me playing for very long. This game is different, it allows you more than just questing and grinding to level. The battleground is constantly changing as Rifts open and you can decide to join in conquering the foes that surge from them or continue on your questing way. Gone are the days of standing in the middle of the road to take a bio-break or grab a soda thinking you are safe. Without warning, a Rift or an assault from another faction can open up and you will find yourself dead where you stood.
Anyway, I would recommend this not only for the "playing field" but for the unique Soul building it offers. You will never be short os spells or melee moves in this game, at times it is overwhelming trying to figure out the best placement of icons on your aciton bars but its well worth it.
The Warfronts (battlegrounds) are nothing new. They offer the same adrenaline paced excitement as say WoW or Warhammer. The only difference is due to the diversity of each class, you don't know what say a mage actually does. In WoW you could somewhat figure out what a mage would do on his next move but here it is very unpredictable due to the combinations of builds the robed foe may have.
I'm not a fanboy of Rift but I do recommend it above many other titles out there. I hope this helps in your decision making.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
If you want a game like Wow but with better graphics Rift is an excellent buy.
If you got tired of Wows(or EQs) gameplay you should stay away, it is rather similar.
That some things aren't really well balanced yet is nothing to worry about, they will balance up the game as they go, there will always be a few unbalanced things missed in a beta, but Trions seems good on fixing up stuff fast.
That there just is 4 classes but with a lot of combinations are actually pretty good. You can do a lot with them even if I hope they add a class with the expansion, if they make an expansion of course.
There are some dungeons to do and I guess more will be added with time. The content isn't massive yet but few game have massive content at launch and there is enough to do.
The 2 negative things I can say about the game is that the rifts gets boring fast and that the quests could be better, they are pretty basic most of them.
This game is deffinatly worth trying, the Rift invasions are awesome, the PVP is not bad at all, and it's 100x better than wow in my opinion and the graphics are way better

If graphics are your main issue with WoW, then I have to ask what your graphics card is? You can play Rift on some older tech machines but to get the best out of its graphics you need a solid card.
I'm having a blast playing Rift, I think you should buy it.
It's like WoW only more "grown up", faster, and dynamic.
The class customization is it's strongest point that I can see. You'll get to fiddle around with all kinds of specs and try alot of different combinations. The obvious problem being that there will be all kinds of balance issues in the endgame that raiders will get their panties in a bunch over.
The graphics are stylistically and technically better than WoW...its like a mixture of Guild Wars 1 and WoW.

I agree with morg2625...The game gets boring quick!...and it does need more humor.
Amjoco...The game is neither new nor different.
Loke666...Trion is the quickest I've ever seen at fixing things! By far!
XforsakerX...I don't trust anyone who has an "X" on each side of their name...but u r right about the graphics!
Chieftan...The graphics r much better than Wow. Perhaps u should try improving your graphics card or actually try optimizing your gameplay.
Played Wow, D and L, AOC, GW, Eve, Rift and many more insignificant games.
I agree with this statement. Also, the class system is amazing.. i got bored yesterday with my class.. so i made a completely new one
Remember Old School Ultima Online
Played Wow, D and L, AOC, GW, Eve, Rift and many more insignificant games.
Actually that is the reason I'm playign rift over qame like WoW. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy humor.
but It's too easily abused in some games out there and not really done well.

Name one game Sovrath that the humor offended you? Your posting makes no sense.
Played Wow, D and L, AOC, GW, Eve, Rift and many more insignificant games.
i loled to the yellow highlighted part.... none of rift sounds are as epic as wows sounds.... anyone can agree with me here very easy..... tho rifts sounds fit very well with that game, just like wows sound fit perfectly with wow only. other than this, i agree with the rest of your post (except for the fun leveling part....) i get so mad bored with that part i want to kill lol
Buy it.
Rojo6934... the only thing Rift has over Wow is graphics... other than that Rift fails at everything. The biggest failing I've seen is that many players have already reached level 50 in Rift and the game is brand new! Level 50 is the cap for Rift which means that within the next month everyone who is playing Rift right now will be level 50...except for the most casual players. And they won't be far behind.
Played Wow, D and L, AOC, GW, Eve, Rift and many more insignificant games.
Buy it.
Rift has my money.
My money is not easily parted with. I have very particular tastes and a need for triple AAA polish.
Rifts delivers on all my expectations.
1. graphics.
Rift has graphics that scale very well and on ultra with things turned beyond ultra defaults it just shines above many other games. Is is the BEST...no...but it's right up there with the greats.
2. Gameplay.
It is fun. There is a very paplable feeling of being part of a fun community with this game.
3. Content
The game world is large, but not too large. The questing is great and as you level up past 20 you will find the areas to explore really opening up. The world PvP is extremely fun and the PvP warfronts are great as well. The Rift system is well done and gives players another reason to rallye into groups to fend off the invasions and kill zone-wide events. The rewards for completing dungeons, rifts, pvp and quests are all well worth the efforts. The crafting is good and will get better as you gain currencies in it and factions.
4. End Game.
There is definately a huge endgame here filled with challenges and great rewards. the PvP, expert dungeons, Rift raids, and dungeon raids will keep me busy for years.
5. replayablity.
This game has 4 callings and I know I will want to roll some alts that are in the other callings for fun...or maybe roll an opposite faction character to spy on the other side and allow my guild intel for world pvp needs.
6. Cost
at $10 a month payed up front 6 months at a time it's a no brainer. Best deal around.
7. GUI
the graphic user interface is very well done. It has almost everything built into it that some other games didn't have for several years and add-ons later. It's a winner in my book and highly adjustable.
8. Ease of use.
If you have ever played World of Warcraft or most any other classic styled mmorpg you will find the controls easy and the learning curve generous. It is almost to easy for a long time mmo player for the first 6 levels. After that the hand holding stops and you jump from tutorial into the main world, but you are equipped with most of the basics you need to know and there are pop-ups when you encounter something new that will help you better understand things.
