Damn when is this game coming out allready? No release date their killing me! Rift was meh, wow is horrible quit that grind fest kiddie land in 2006. Went back to the original Guild Wars and having some fun with a new character. This game looks amazing.
Yeah, you need to select target. You must in most MMOs, AoC and TERA excluded.
You will also need to use fast keys or click on icons. But the only ways to not have that is either Diablo styled click combat, Daggerfall styled draw the mouse combat or using some kind of camera like kinect. There are interfaces that you can steer by thought in the work but they are far from commercial yet. So what did you have in mind?
But I wouldn't call it same old, you have stuff like active dodge and combat while you move together with some twitched based aspects on the thief. That is pretty different from most games at least.
I like how the Dynamic Events scale to the number of people present; I loved the Public Quests in WAR, but I only found one starting P.Q. in that game that could be soloed the entire way through (in the Dark Elf area, if I remember correctly; killing the dryad/treant thingy). It will be a boon for those who play at off times.

He must be looking for a FPS-like, or Oblivion-esque combat.
While I like the fact that the game play quests didn't feel like quests, I believe a lot of this was covered in videos from the game last year. Still, a first hand experience is nice to hear.
This game gets an article like this from doing just 2 lvl's???? RLY?
The nOOb area is always nice and full of storytelling......make a review when your lvl 20 or so ok.
Just stop hyping this game, lots of people already think this game will be perfect.....boy are you guys in for a surprise.......NO game is perfect
Oh and from what i read about the "dynamic" content......euh.....just a series of also programmed (EUH....STATIC) events that go around in circles on your map.....nothing more.
To end on a possitive note here.....i will be playing it too.......AND i will love it because i dont follow the hypetrain
One of my biggest concerns is that like any demo they always show you polished and interesting quests. But a huge number of MMO's have a handful of these quests and the rest are carbon copies of each other. I hope they can break that trend and make all your quests unique. I'm not saying they all have to be huge over the top events, but have something in each one that sets them apart from the others.
The dynamic events sound like they are right up my alley. Sometimes I would love to take a break from running quests and just jump into some random event to break up the pace. I don't get near enough of this from "cosmics or boss battles" in other MMO's.

stop being a buzz kill. The people NEED something to look forward to. Theres nothing else and the current MMOs are all crap right now. People havent to settle for whats out there. So let people have hope.
PAX was effing awesome, and the Anet area was easily the best thing there, which is saying a lot because there were some pretty impressive games being displayed (Dragon's Nest ~totally~ got my attention, I'll be keeping track of that one).
I didn't get to play very long. I popped on and made a Guardian mostly just to see what their skills were like with a Staff, and I loved it. I felt like a warrior mage, protecting people with my plate mail while still wielding spells and barriers. FRIGGIN AWESOME. Another Guardian came with me on an event, and his sword swings were actually creating phantom swords that hit enemies at a distance. Amazing experience. God I want this game so bad >_< I gave up the rest of my turn to someone standing beside me, I experienced enough in that 15 or so minutes, and contented myself with chatting with Anet while the next guy played. Nicest people evar ;_; really seemed to enjoy what they were doing, and totally geeked out with us too. I didn't feel like I was chatting with an employee, I felt like I was talking to another gamer.
Totally tried to get him to spill the beans on Mesmers but he couldnt v_v he seemed like he really wanted to, though. He kept pausing and trying to think about what he could say that wouldn't get him in trouble, lol. Had a blast, can't wait for this thing to be live. Honestly it shouldn't be far off now. That demo was so bloody polished, it was more like they were showing off an existing game than one that's still in development.

I got a chance to play this at the Meet and Greet at PAX East. I went with a Norn Elementalist. I really liked that fact that you can move and cast at the same time. Nothing better then circle kiting while tossing fireballs. Having no quest givers will take some getting used too. Note I said no quest givers NOT no quests. When you hit a dynamic spot which seemed like every ten feet you get another quest. I go near one guy and he needs help fighting some creatures. I go help him while there the enemies have seige towers so now I have a quest to take down the towers. I take down the towers now I have a quest to stop the builders from making new ones. As other players walk (more like run) by they also get the quest and it scales up. After about 4 or 5 people it gets pretty insane. At least I got to experience what happens when you die

Here is somebodies write up of their experiences in the level 20 area at PAX east.
If you actually look you might find more write ups of people's experiences in the level 20 area at PAX east, and if you look harder you might find write ups of other people's experiences in the level 40 area at PAX Prime and Gamescon from last year.
A Norn Thief? Really? Who'd want to steal a Norn? Thats absurd.
If she's cute enough....

I just have to say that the thief was a very exciting addition to the GW2 lineup. At the moment the thief may end up being my main (I usually main heavy armor toons, namely warriors, so this time I promised myself I would main something a bit more exciting). Who knows what the next two classes maybe, and I may end up with any of them as my first toon.
One hope I have though is that this makes ANET huge and they finally leave NCSOFT to travel out and become there own entity in a way that will rival the worlds top MMO companies today (not that they aren't a competitor, I basically just want them to split from NC)
A sultry blonde? Not a raven haired temptress like any Irishman should have close to his heart?
Anyway stop playing girls it gives my Irish cousins a bad name.
Did I mention I let a woman guide me in character creation?
I thought it was: "Flaming red hair like the setting sun had caught the evening sky on fire,"?
This write-up confirmed the Norn will be a really evocative race to play for story I reckon. The Thief looks swish and wonder if the next prof will be another "more challenging" prof also (likely).

Good God man! What does that mean? I know you can write better than that. Why not let someone else read it over before you post your article?
So many people are hyping this up way too much:

If there is no open world pvp, I will pass.
Character limits suck!
Open world PvP rarely creates a good game or community.
Why?

Pretty decent article but come on now guys. A Norn Thief? Really? Who'd want to steal a Norn? Thats absurd. Might as well have had a Hamburglar class.
