Your right it did send a message to Kim, build up a real arsenal of WMDs and you have a better barganing chip. Which he is doing. He knows the US military will win a straight up fight with his country, all he has to do is look at his father for this. during the 1970s Kim il-sung was summoned to a UN conference, he called in sick. In reality the USs seal team walked into his palace and kidnapped him and told him to be a good lil boy.
the Saudi royal family is under CIA protection, we dont need to send them a message, which is why they were part of the famous "Axis of evil". Iran is a country ruled by people who cant wait to get to god and hate us very much.
Saddam was an easy target because we already controlled 2/3 of his country before we even started planing the invasion.

And if you truely believe saddams military, if you can call whatever that was I fought threw in iraq, was a threat to the his neighors you need a serious reality check.

It was a threat before the first gulf war it continued to be a threat to the iraqis after and it would have been again towards his neigbours if he had been given the chance judging by his past actions.

But thanks to servicemen and women such as yourself we wont be hearing about yet another atrocity commited by Saddam.

They are not POWs they wear no uniform nor follow the Geneva Convention and I would rather the CIA had the power to extract whatever information they have without having to worry about these animals human rights, but I really dont care what happens to them at all.

when every anyone brings up this topic I alwas have to respond with this... if you live in a neighborhood and a childmensing petifile moves in with a shotgun, I dont think you are going to be happy and jump for joy... you might think its wrong to do anything to the petafile like tell to get out, but when you have kids and they start living in the neighboorhood it becomes diffrent... its all a matter of prospective. ANd if you say suddam doesnt pose a threat you are sadly mistaken, the size of an army makes no diffrence in this day and age, the technology is all that matters... now everyone knew Suddam had chemical weapons(Gulf Wars) and what would have stopped him from getting more weapons... he used them on his own people... Plus a person who has no regard for anyone elses opnion is a dangerous person because they dont care what they blow up... its really kinda sad most everyone can make a nuclear bomb in their basement now, the only hard thing to get is the platuimum, which is aviable from poor contries that misuse their own equipment, like Russia(I am Russian, now in the USA)its something like 50 nuclear weapons are not accounted for in their arsenals... dumbasses... eh...

chemical weapons are not classified as WMDS... also there this funny story every time the UN tried to check out a suspected weapons facility it took 2 weeks to get tehre... and nothing was there everytime... you know during world war 2 they tried to hide chemical gas used by the germans underneath a chicken coop and it wasnt found for 20-30 soome odd years... Also the idea still stands he had them once, he used them, so why not again. I dont want to wait till the petifile gets raunchy again and starts touching little kids again...

Terrorism is a description used by those in power and control of the media to describe those not.

Nelson Mandela was widely regarded as a terrorist, as was Che Guevara, Xana Gusmao, Malcolm X, Robin Hood, etc etc etc

So basically the media decides via the instructions they get from their Governments.

Then the public swallow it because 99% couldnt be bothered to think for themselves.

I think you have the write idea. Terrorist is an ill defined, and largely subjective term. Anytime the government feels threatened by a ememy, America label's them communist( Look up Soth American 1970s, 1980s) or today calls them terriorists. We always need a booge man. Another time that America labels groups is when they introduce a fighting style we just cannot win againist in a foreign land. Before people go on a rant talking about how the Iraq insurgents are cowards and something new in the history of warfare, think twice. It is the guerilla-like tatics that have been used threw out history by the weaker force. Whether it be the guerillas of the middle ages, groups like the Scots againist the English, the American guerilla's against the Brits in the 1700s and 1800s or modern day, groups like Vietcong vs. America. It's the same concept. The only way the weaker force can fight, is using what the modern rules of war call "cheap".

it wasnt a threat in fact it proved somethings we had been suggesting for a while.

which is we need to move away from the direction of 60 ton land based armor vehicles.

because we could only ship one abram on one plane at a time.

it just showed us how useless some of the most powerful toys in teh world are and it is much better to develop stuff you can actually play with.

but it showed us how outdated most militaries are.

most arab militaries with the exception of Saudi Arabia who Bought a lot of our non M1 abrams from us.

they have some of the worst armor ever and you only need a infactry division to fight them with air support.

we now have a lot better anti armor in the hands of our infantry.

and we are probably not gonna be making any more tanks in the future at all at least not traditional ones like the abrams who cost more then god knows to ship.

We alone could have destroyed iraqs military pre gulf war. this is an easy task.

the Coalition just made the attack legitimate in the eyes of the world.

It's one thing to call someone a terrorist for standing up for what they believe it. People die in wars, but it's military personnel. Even many taking part guerilla warfare stick to that. They attack barracks, supply depots.

It's another thing to call someone a terrorist for killing thousands of civilians.

I think that its important to remember that more people die in america from crime then they did on september 11th.

Its also important to note that in america tv corporations don't have any laws stating that the news they broadcast has to be the truth.

In any case the events over the last 5 years have made me never really want to go there, it conjures up nightmares of airport security throwing me in a cell for no reason then getting shot by their legalised hand guns while at disney world or something.

First of all war is hell, you do what you got to do in war. Also war is natural and so is violence everything oon earth attacks other people or animals we all attack each other in some way just look at this post instead of shooting someone the dude posted this to verbally assault the United States. The only reason people aren't killing each other and robbing each other for stuff out in the streets is because of law, order, education, and BestBuy. The few crimes and terrorist acts is because they are not strong enough to have what they want. That's why america has nukes and a large military so we can peacfully talk to other country's but we can do that without the UN there just ass holes there the one's that spread war. In the Congo right now there are French UN troops and the UN orders them to only fire if fired at and people die right outside there armoured vehicle's letting the killing go on. In Somalia UN tropps are the one's that got the people there to freak out and kill american's because some UN troops had molested and killed some kids. The people didn't know the difference between the UN troops and American troops.

I'm pretty sure the OP meant weekly bombings that have killed an estimated 500,000 Iraqi children over the years. Check out amnesty international, theres your proof. If your too lazy to check that you shouldn't have dick to say about it. And whover was saying Sadaam was one of the worst dictators in the world, ugh. Research jsut about any middle eastern countries leaders and you'll see some wild stuff. I just think it's weired we go after Sadaam for human rights crimes while supporting dictators that do the same.
