Petition : SWG Fresh Start Server [Mod Edit]

Many of us have fond and not so fond memories from Star Wars Galaxies. Though I'm looking forward to SWTOR, I would love to go back and enjoy some time in Galaxies on a new server that does not allow the transfer of items, money, or characters.
Would you have interest in playing on a server where everyone starts on a level playing field? Where the world is fresh and uncluttered with homes and cities of players long gone? Where you could be the first to master your profession be it combat, crafting, or social? Where the economy is fresh and simple items do not cost millions of credits...
I would think this would be a complete win for Sony with little investment. How many of you would go back for a little SWG restart from scratch?

If they made the game f2p like they did EQ, on a fresh server, I would certainly play.
I would try it out for sure, currently looking for a game with a "new" server. Doesn't really matter which game, just want a fresh start

Please let it go... it will never happen, and even if it did, your memories are far more perfect then the game would be.

Hell Yes!! Playing on a new server that doesnt have the messed up economy, no cluttered landscape, not to mention so much to do starting from scratch!! I would totally reup my account for this!!

I'd go back and play on a Fresh Start server. Sure I hated NGE back in 2005, but having gone back to SWG several times over the years I have to say NGE isn't all that bad. Plus SOE has added a lot to the game since then. It's actually not too bad these days. Put all that together with a fresh server and it might be fun. Worst case senario I'd hav something to occupy my time for several months at least.

dont pretty much all the glaring bugs still in the game from when the clucked it up?
I'd not touch SWG unless it went Free 2 Play and got a serious set of Devs working on it to put out content for the game that has nothing to do with a Customizable Card Game.

What do you mean by fresh start????
The only way SWG could be reborn and start over is if this so called "Fresh Server" was starting over as how SWG was in the first two months of it's original release. I'm not talking about the spaceship expansion I said original release. That is when the game was at it's best. Granted commando still needed fixing and some bounty hunter issues but in a nutshell that is only when SWG was great after the 4th month it went to hell in a hand basket.
So if that were ever to happen I would definitely sign up on that.
I mean we are looking for people who are interested in playing the game in its current condition, but on a new server which does not allow character, item, credit transfers, etc.
Everyone has opionions on when the game was at its best, but I don't want to discuss that in this thread. I really want to focus on who would re-sub in the current game with a clean slate or fresh start server.

Eh? It takes like two days to get to level cap for a combat prof and all the items you need for combat are more easily obtainable than in any other mmo I have ever played.
If anything the game needs a server on which it is actually hard to progress.

I'm not sure how long it's been since you played, but progression from start to end game is a pretty long road these days. I do remember the time period when that was possible but it hasn't been for several years now as far as I'm aware. The exception to this may be the entertainer profession.
You used to be able to level (years ago) in two days. Now it takes weeks even months to level to max in SWG (unless you are leveling entertainer of course). There have been too many changes in the game over time, and another great reason to start a fresh server so everyone is on a level playing field.
Are you really serous, I am not going to use the word that fits this thread. We been asking for those servers for 4 years now and then some. Do you really think that SWG is going anywhere? SOE just cut 200 folks out of the loop, There are only a few devs working on this. Not to mention the fact that they said they lost the code, and the code they did have was way to buggy.
I would go for it, but there is no way that SOE is going to do it, It would cost to much money to get it up and going, and in this economy after they fired 200 folks, and cut 3 production studios out, oh and one of those was where SWG was based. Yea right. I'm sorry but it is not happening.
Once again, thank you for your thoughts but this thread is not about a "classic" server. Its about a new server not allowing transfers of characters, items, credits, etc with the current version of the game. A clean start.
Oh I got the clasic server part, that would be great. So if SOE is not going to do it who is. The EMU stuff you almost had to be a systems engenier to run it. Im just saying if your waiting for SOE to do it, they don't have the money, and yes we been asking for clasic servers for a long time. I would roll new toons on them for sure. After all how would you go back getting NGE toons and revert them, I could not see that happening. It might take me a long time to holo grind back up but I would do it. I just dont think that anybody has the cash to stick into a project like that, that has already failed once.
Wow. Just wow. This is NOT about a classic server. This is about a new NGE server with no transfers. I have to ask...did you even read the original post, or any of the thread?

Why do people keep bringing up classic servers? This thread is not about classic servers.
Are so so brain dead that you cannot tell he isnt talking about a 'Classic Server' But a fresh start NGE server? The pure stupidy some people show on this forum is just unfathomable.
I support the idea of a fresh server. NOT A CLASSIC!
However, I also support keeping those that were banned from the game to remain banned. The haxerz, griefers, coin dup, forums bashers. Contributors in helping the game fall apart in the first place.
to be quite honest anybody who wants a fresh start nge server has to be brain dead. I cant imagine anybody who would really want to do that.
