Because it's a pay to win asian themed game which will probably have close to no lore/story.
Agreed and lets take it one further. What does a tab-target type system allow?
BOTS! start telling yourself now that there wont be a bot/hacking problem....maybe you can fool yourself before release.
if history is any type of lesson....this game gonna suck cause lipstick on a pig (allbeit shitty lipstick in this game) is still a ugly pig...
so...

ITS A TARP!

Link me the info on the lore please,
Assumption, the mother of all f**k ups.
For your information, the lore is being written by some hot shot korean fantasy author, and the payment model is yet to be finalize, or has simply not been released to the public.
To be completely honest, I wish every game was like EVE in that way. Having everyone able to be on one gigantic server is freaking amazing. I don't see it being very possible in fantasy style games though. At least in the near future. Unless it's setup like GW but then it's not a seemless world.
Why do you not see that is possible, and what do you base that on?
There is no real difference between a space and fantasy game in terms of technology, other than that space game tends to spread players more in x y z while fantasy would spread mostly x and z while y (up direction) would be similar values.
But as I said, that difference does not really affect the technology to run single world MMO's.
Because Korean-made games have a bad rep for being grindfests and they still haven't proven this wrong.
Who knows, they may just redeem their entire country's MMO industry with this one and actually release a fun game. But chances are it's going to be a boring grindfest. I'll just wait and see what other people say about it after it releases before making a decision.
There are a million things that could go wrong with a game with a million features. Only time will tell.
I won't go near this game because the characters all look like 10 year old girls, regardless of the actual gender of the character. I frankly cannot stand to look at it, because it's disgustingly vomit-inducing. Let's not forget that it's been done TO DEATH anyway, so even if I WAS into sexualized children, I still wouldn't like it. The asian video-game art design talent pool is totally devoid of any imagination, or innovation.

tab targeting auto attack combat, cant really find anything else I dislike but combat is a pretty big deal since combat is the core of all pve and pvp.

I can understand most people does not like this kind of art (including myself, I do not like the idea of 10 years old girls acting as fighters in a serious game).
However, I beleive the creators of the game created this race for their female player base, rather then pedos.
Well one thing is for certain, judging for by this thread alone, there seems to be a A LOT of interest for this game. The main complaints seems to be:
1. Fear of Pay to Win model
2. Fear of endless grind.
3. Girly character models
I think all of these aspects could easily be addressed for a 'western' version of the game. I hope that the developers are paying attention. There is a big potential for this game in the west. There is a huge niche that this game could fill.
Korean developer means that we'll know about patches, but won't get them until significantly later. There's something inherently irritating in having a developer outside your timezone. Adds to a sense of persuction by circumstance, especially when patches identify that something is busted, and then the playerbase actively runs away with it until it gets localized.
So I've taken a look at some gameplay videos on youtube and I know why I will not play this game.
First, it is an Asian MMO, which I usually find incredibly boring because there is too little content and you're forced to grind on mobs or do various repetetive activites to level up. Most KMMOs force you to grind for hours to level up.
Second, the combat looks very boring. I watched a player stand there fighting a mob. I'm tired of stationary combat in MMOs.
Third, I'm not sure how farming or building houses will work if you can build them anywhere in the open world. Will entire zones be covered in player built houses? This doesn't interest me very much, especially if other players could destroy the house you worked hard to build.
Lastly, I'll be playing GW2, so I likely won't have time to touch this game unless it's free. If I really wanted to play a sandbox game I'd just keep playing Minecraft.
The graphics do look nice though, I'll give them that. But honestly, I couldn't care less about graphics as long as the game is fun.
It will be interesting to see how they market AA in the West. XLGames knows that their native location is enough to get their game steryotyped and compared to low budget, F2P clone games. With Korean release almost a year out Im looking forward to seeing how they fine tune the details of the game so we can see what the finished product will look like....then wait another 6 months for release here
Honestly I don't know much about it, but if I had to guess at a reason, I'd say the koreanness would keep me away. Never played an azn game that I liked.
I've seen the hype about the hybrid sandbox features and whatnot, but don't forget what types of games that nation is known for putting out.
Like other folks said previously. I already have a fantasy mmo, no need to play a clone of a clone of a clone. and one that I have heard nothing about.

I am on this boat here. After playing tab-target games for years it becomes boring but manually having to aim is always engaging (which is a bad thing for my main game but I do it in side-games sometimes and have fun).

Hell is other people, so if it's one of those games that forces socializing (especially joining a guild) to enjoy the majority of the content, I won't want to play and won't be playing.
I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.

In the last trailer the guy talked about how this is a 3rd generation MMO with a focus on story.
I'm not sure where you got that will have no story.

You confused ArcheAge with TERA, my friend.

Tera Elin race really looks to be made for pedos.

because it is the 595191529512951th fantasy clone out there ?
S!
because the first thing i look for in an mmo is good and responsive combat. The combat in Arch Age looks realy bad.
I would not want to play this game because i am not buying into the hype.
