Just so you all know, on the official Hero's Journey website (www.play.net/hj), they are conducting a little survey of sorts about other MMORPGs, most likely so they can avoid their mistakes and use their good ideas. In any case, if you complete that survey and give Simutronics your e-mail address, you will get a beta invite.
Therefore, GO FILL IT OUT!

I wonder what their timeline is now... and what stage of beta they're guaranteeing us entrance to.
I wish they'd get new forums, I want to get involved in the pre-beta community.. but man, I'm having a hell of a time making any sense of their forum system's formatting.
(ugh. i keep hitting the report button to reply lol)
Anyway, I took that survey yesterday.
I really hope for a position in beta. I'm not saying I'm going to love the game or even like it, but if they could turn out Gemstone III then maybe they can turn out another game like it.

lol yeah. There have been a few people who have complained about this. I've read that they're aware that their forums are a little behind the times, but they're priorities at the moment are in the game itself. Still, browse their forums long enough and you'll get used to it and be able to surf through them with ease. It was a bit strange for me at first, but it took a few days and I got used to it.

What's the deal, though? From what I see there's no actual listing of discussion threads... it's all one big thread of posts in chronological order, completely unorganized. It seems like I'm just missing something obvious.
Probably the collapse button. That helps somewhat.
Well, I'll see if I can clear some things up. Might end up confusing myself in the process though.
If you click on one of the Forums for a game, then Forum Categories will be listed. You click on a Forum Category and Forum Topics will be listed. Click on a Forum Topic and - well, that's your basic thread. You got a thread of posts on the same Forum Topic organized by date I think. If there are multiple pages to a thread then the page numbers will display at the top. On the HJ Council Forum, there is an option to show old (read) threads/topics because by default they do not show up I think. So you have:
I. Game Forum
A. Forum Category
1. Forum Topic
a. General Post
What I dislike about their forum system is that by default all the old threads/topics you've clicked on don't show up so you have to choose to display them each time you want to go back over them. Still seems practical but isn't my taste. I like this style best on this site.

Great news! Ive been waiting for this game since it was announced, it sounds and looks very promising!
Hehe already seen that survey before.
I wont spam them with another time my vision of what the perfect MMORPG is, hehe. Prolly wont be invited to beta, but not such a big deal, I never participate in stuff for rewards, just to freely give my opiniated ideas.

We don't wanna spam everyone so we're only sending out emails in response to this survey twice: FIrst for a follow up survey, and then some months from now for the Beta invite.

Did the survey & I'm still waiting patiently for some kind of reply.
I do scour the HJ forum everyday. I haven't posted a thing yet but it helps to read what the devs & hardcore supporters are saying... when I can figure out the topic thread, that is. It really can be quite confusing, even for an oldtime gamer like myself!
Ah well, cheers. If the game itself can live up to the dedicated dev & fanbase they're already gathering at their site, this could be just what we hardcore rpg'ers have been searching for.

This game is still in early alpha probably... dont even expect closed beta for at least 3-4 months.
All I can say is "More Fun. Less Tedium." sounds promising
[edit] Just found it. Wah.
First, the Simu forums are the worst part of Simu in my opinion. I've been in GS for three years now and I still have issues following them. I'm one of the ones that's complained about them repeatedly. I'm hoping they realize that when HJ goes live, players of non-Simu games will expect better.
Second, I can't find this survey you all speak of. But, I was recently accepted into Hero's Council..will those members get an auto-invite to beta? (I havent been given my access to the council section of the site yet.)
