there, that wasent really all that hard to say. And have you spent any time playing 3.5?? or do you just make off the cuff remarks on systems you havent played, or are you just opposed to newer and better things.
There really aren't that many differences between 3rd edition and 3.5 revised. Key word here is REVISED. The only major difference is how a few things are worded differently. I prefer the new stuff, actually. Don't know about the rest of you...

So what you're saying is you like playing the Drow so you don't have to pay attention to your DM running a story, plot or trying to do anything, because you can just be evil? Right.
I played a Drow once and only once...and that was in an original 2nd Ed AD&D game...he was a mercenary and a bloodthirsty bastard, so he got sucked into Ravenloft. THAT was interesting.
One of my favorite characters one of my players has ever made was a Gnoll that was raised by humans...that was great fun. He was good since he was raised that way.
I assume they will eventually add an expension called Planescape, they will add lot of nice things there, but no Drow.
Then, later, they will prolly add a more conventional world of D&D(althought maybe a never heard region of the world, or another continent) and you will then be likely to see drow.
So...If D&D online is very successfull, in the next 2 years you have a ''good'' chance to see Drow in an expension...but with Planescape or whatever else they have in mind, there is a lot of other nice options out there.
Will you be able to bring toons in the expensions is a topic on itself alone, not everyone is able to travel accross the planes of existence. In fact it would be a better idea to make new servers with the new expensions and limit it there, and maybe create a unique central place(Planescape) for grind fest lovers to stick and enjoy the worst grind ever in needing a toon in every world setting in order to get the right benefit...hmmm Definitely not catering the majority and not something you will see at start...and not something that will be done at the expense of the majority(ruling in Planescape in this exemple would give you no help in any other world, while every world achievement will help Planescape setting, so casuals would just stay clear of Planescape and enjoy the differents worlds they prefer...while grind fest lovers would farm a LOT...hehe). Maybe the central toon in Planescape could allow your others toons to travel between worlds, yet it would need carefull thinking to not be implemented rudely at the expense of the casuals(so you could actually move your toon in eberron to Greyhawk for exemple, but there must be something also to make sure you dont shaft the casuals who play on Greyhawk or Eberron when doing so)...
Anyway, those are merely ideas...

Well, I just bought the Eberron Campaign Settings and on page 24 it says that Drow are not intended for Eberron settings and after reading the book I have to agree that drow are not really fit to this settings:)
People are sofa king retarded that it doesnt matter that there wont be any dark elves. You will still see the Drizzt clone names. Sadley, It is inevitable.
Also, I may be "old-school" but, unless I am mistaken, the term Drow, is Abeir-Toril. only. Everywhere else they are just Dark Elves, or perhaps a different name.
The Drow are a secluded and shunned society. They backstab each other, and flatout kill outsiders. How the heck would you form a party? They'd all be trying to rob each other, and kill one another to get the rewards. Not to mention you just can't do your own thing. You must follow your Matron's orders. If you stray from Lloth she will kill you. The storyline of the Drow just doesn't enable them to be played with a free sense of adventure. Their code is far too strict. I hope they are never playable. Else you'd have to open up giants to be played.

Well Quite simply actually.
3.5 is an upgrade

3.5 was a cheesy way for WotC to get more money. The real killer money stealers are the badly-edited "Complete" ripoff books.
As for the Drow, if they are to be a playable race they need to be KoS by all guards and shopkeepers.

There are Drow, especially on Xen'drik. But the Drow are not a playable race in Eberron.
If the game is successfull enought...

they are as playable as any other race on Eberron. Heck, they might not even be as powerful as they are in the Realms.
BUt yeah, whoever made this thread is pretty rediculous...I mean seriously...
do it to it
no way if they give you drow then i wanna be a kobold!
all i have to say is good riddance to wanna be drizzt and zaknafeins
Drow are cool, but I wouldn't want my sister to marry one.
