Now i might find this game cool if you can assassinate a king that rules over you and if enough people decide they want him gone and we storm the castle and it means perm death for his max level toon and his guild is locked out of taking over rulership for say 6 months , then  yes the people could have a choice .

that would be fun like in eve and alot of newbie get together and decide to take out some big ass player.. but i feel the big pvp guilds will rule this game and destroy any rp or pve fun to be had., but i will keep watching atleast until swtor or guild wars 2 comes out...

Each continent is broken down into counties that can be lorded over,  some of the counties are designated as pvp only for lordship and some are designated as campaining for lordship.  Only Guild leaders can vie for Lord positions and his guild mates will have to work to keep him or her in office.  So yes large well organized guilds will have an easier time with the political system or many small guilds that forum an alliance will be able to compete.

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

Maybe the article writer didn't have any experience with those other MMO's or he found this system better, it's just his opinion and viewpoint. Just like that PR that said that Trion's Defiance would be the first MMOFPS game, completely ignoring that we already had that with Planetside.

People say a lot, but that doesn't make it automatically true.

By your logic anyone who played and enjoyed good FPS would never touch and enjoy mmo, which is not true :P

The logic may not be dead on, but it has some merit.  I've played Darkfall on and off for 2 years, and have a very hard time taking tab-target games seriously.  I've gone back to WoW when the most recent x-pac came out to play with some friends, and it got old quick.

And as far as Tera being the first "action mmo" or whatever they called it, Darkfall is all crosshair and aim, so the claim to being the first is a little misleading.

As far as those concerned about power hungry fanatical kids owning in PvP and throwing everyone in jail, I'm sure the Devs will have some limitations on the jailing of other players.  Unless they're not concerned about people quitting (or not subbing in the first place) because of the feature, they'll probably make it a minor feature.

    And now...off to work.

Point is combat system while important is not what makes or breaks mmorpg, most ppl who play mmos dont play mmo becouse it has tab targeting or other system. Thats not reason why I choose play RPG game XYZ.

This could be a good game but it all depends on if they charge a bunch of Micro Transaction fees for Character Customization, and things that should be free like Character Customization changes, and such the moment they start to over charge like Aion, and NC Soft did I am gone from the game, so will any friends I know playing the game.

I am not sure if the game will be any good or not but I am waiting to find out, and it will be a matter of time at least 80 sum days unti I can try the game and say for sure, but considering that they make all primary elements of the game as a Buy one time, and market the game correctly without Micro Transactions except Expansions, or Server Transfers it could be the best game since Lineage 2, and it could possibly take out all those over priced free 2 play games like Vindictus, but of course we will have to see what they do.

Sounds like a good game but I'm concerned with how Australian ping will affect the gameplay.

Loved Lineage2 so heres hoping it works

Playing: Darkfall New Dawn (and planning to play Fallout 76)
Favourite games have included: UO, Lineage2, Darkfall, Lotro, Baldur's Gate, SSX, FF7 and yes the original Wizardry on an Apple IIe

TERA is not an action MMO but really is just a WoW clone with a FPS interface. Just like WoW TERA has skill based hot keys and cut and dry auto attack. You can turn on auto attack go afk and come back to find you still killed the mob you were fighting. I played TERA CPE and found the game excedingly boring. Everyone who thinks this game is going to be good is in for major disappointment.

Well first off this is by far not the first action oriented MMO, not even close.

Secondly, the Korean servers have been reduced to a third of what they once were already.   So if you think this is the next great MMO to come along you are disallusioning yourself.

I have played both kind of combat MMOs, tab targeting and direct targeting.  There is really very little difference.  If that makes or breaks a game for you, try the old AC1, it is a much better game than TERA if you don't mind the graphics.

The distorted caricatures in this game ruin it for me.  The child like race is pornography in my view.

So while it is nice they added a political system, the game would need a big redesign effort for it to pass muster for many of us.

This sounds very cool to me. The game may be the perfect blend of sandbox and themepark mechanics that I have been waiting for. I guess only time will tell...

The political system sounds very cool, can't wait to get my hands on the game.

Koreans dont like the game because its not a Grind Fest like your typical Korean MMO. Me being a Lineage 2 player I cant believe I just said that. Whats happening to me?

FWIW, we did 10-15 hours per level in classic EQ from the mid levels upward, an amount of hours of gameplay to reach level cap that even current Asian MMO's like Aion can't even hope to equal. Yep, you know, MMO's like EQ that were very popular in the west, MMO's of which I'm starting to doubt that a lot of these current generation of modern - western - MMO gamers would have been able to persevere in.

This whole 'koreans dislike it so western MMO gamers must automatically love it' is as flawed logic as you can have it: the simpler, more obvious explanation is that if an MMO has too little content to offer for people to enjoy with not all of its features in place yet at its launch, then MMO gamers, eastern or western, will get turned away from it.

Amount and variety of content is what it's usually about.
