1st off, why does MxO have New Ownership? Because it sucked, it flopped, and besides the straight up fan boys they couldn't get people to play (and I quit after participating in the form and the closed beta since they both began because restrictive PvP is a freaking joke in a game like the Matrix...its the fing Matrix wth are you guys thinking?).
2nd EVEN IF sony were to develope this game well, you think its going to happen this week? If you really have trust in sony's ability to dev this game right, then you should be coming back in ATLEAST 3 months and not right away.
3rd Sony does not like to impliment PvP. It occurs, but its always very very restrictive. Why do you think they would want to make MxO any different? Though, if they do change MxO to atleast have one Hardcore PvP server I will applaud them and start thinking Sony is a good development company.

Lets face it the facts speak for themselves, if MxO was so good loads of people would be playing it. If loads of people played it, it would be profitable, if it was profitable they wouldnt be selling it. I am impressed some have judged the game and it is no more than a license. Comment all you like on SOE, but you cannot at all accurately anticipate what they will do based off history. Just look at their three major games now, all are radically different with SWG the more UO-esque title, EQ I & II the traditional class based titles, and then PlanetSide the MMOFPS.
From the standpoint of bredth, MxO and DC Comics compliment their lineup perfectly. They now have a solid fantasy game, a solid space sci-fi, another sci-fi but radically different game, a superhero franchise and an FPS. It seems like a solid move on their part. Smart move on their part.

I dont plan to resubscribe. Im just happy that MxO is under new management because there is a chance, however small it might be, that the game will get better. Id be happier if almost anyone other than Sony had bought them out though.

3 The pvp in mxo is in place already. Despite how flawed (in my opinion its flawed) it already is they wouldn't put all those man hours to remove it and replace it with nothing as you mentioned earlier.

See, the thing all of you guys are missing, besides the fact this is a good game, is that SOE is hiring back the old DEV team. Therefore, they cant f*** with the game, cuz they arent workin on it. Also, SOE has bigger servers, therefore eliminating all of the lag. The only bad thing that could come from this would be all of the noobs joining.
They said they were going to OFFER the guys their same jobs. Not everybody is going to want to move from Kirkland to Austin. Plus, SOE is way overmanned on SWG right now post-expansion, and they'd love to have a place to put some of those people rather than just lay them off.
Will the game change radically? You bet it will. It has to, because it was already losing money before the transition, and the transition itself is going to cost a bundle, and not everybody will make the jump to SOE (you have to re-register etc), so MxO/SOE is going to start out as a massive hull breach in the treasure dome. They will patch the breach by throwing cuteness and E-Z modes at the game, they'll probably "revamp" the complex skill trees down to a basic grind, and if all that doesn't work and the numbers don't rise in a reasonable time, they'll shut MxO down without a backward glance.

I can tell by this post that you know NOTHING about the game at all.
There is NOTHING restrictive about PvP in MxO. On hostile servers (the "hardcore PvP servers" you speak of), it's an open gank-fest, and on non-hostile servers it's an opt-in system with a bit of TEF ruling as well.
And it's a good thing, because the only friggin' thing to DO is PvP.
I've said it elsewhere, but Sony can only help this game....there's nothing they can do to make it worse than it already is. Yes, they buggered SWG...but not with the CU....they buggered it when they built it. It was fundamentally flawed from the start, adding jedi sure as hell didn't help, and don't even get me started on comp clones and buffs.
But just because they screwed up one game does not mean that their products are all crap. EQ2 is a freakin' MASTERPIECE of a game, and if they could get a little bit of the fun and quality of EQ2 into MxO, it would do wonders for the game.
I loved MxO for the first couple months I played, and I honestly see this whole thing as a ray of hope for what COULD have been a great game. It can't get any worse.
Well I think it can be safely said that SOE cant make the game any more repetitive then it already is...at least thats safe. A possible good thing about this is that if it goes onto the All Access thing, then its worth having installed.

In case you havent noticed, the combat system isnt that unique, there are few fun things in the game that dont get old fast, and there already is a major grind (missions over and over).

I think almost everyone is missing the point of whats happening here. This isn't about SOE or MxO. This is about Money! Plain and simple. Face it, capatilism DOES NOT work, unless you are the 1% at the top. The world is being bought out by the big guys and soon your only choices will be Sony or Microsoft. Think WoW is safe? How long till Microsoft wants a good MMORPG? What would you do if someone threw more money than you have ever seen at you? It's time to start thinking of ways to change the system, and stop worying about games being screwed up. If you don't like them don't play. If you do, then do. Just stop whining about them!

1. SOE damn sucky customer service. All you hear from the GMs is "sorry i cant do that"
