Whatever you say. I wasn't expecting for you to understand that you're projecting your insecurities. The sad part is that you feel entitled to dictate how others view the world around them based on those insecurities of yours.

I'll try another example and I hope you understand. When I walk down the beach during summer, it's possible to see a child without clothes running around. There is nothing sexual or sensual or sinful or whatever in that picture, at least there isn't for me. It's just a child running around, it could be a dog or a cat and it would get the same mental reaction from me. Now we come back to an animated character in a computer game that is clothed and has a remote resemblance to a child. What makes you think that this character will suddenly turn sexual or sensual or whatever, keeping into consideration my previous state of mind?

At first I was like - "Oh look, something about TERA"
Then I read it and thought - it's not a release date, wtf cares.

I'll worry about changes/differences if and when the game ships. I'll make any evaluation of the game based on what they deliver to us, not so much on how it differs from the original Eastern version. From all I can tell, it can stand a bit of improvement over that, as from all I keep hearing it hasn't done that well - and I'm terribly anxious and cautiously excited to see it finally ship here in the States.

Is the game even out in Korea yet?

Idk about this game, at first I thought it might be cool with action based combat, but after playing DCUO, action combat isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Well, the word is that while the action combat part is great, the Korean version suffered from lack of endgame. Sort of like an AoC deza vu, Korean style. I believe the "westernisation" really revolves around adding extra five levels and actual endgame gameplay for both regions.

The thing is, I might choose Blade and Soul over Tera if the launch dates are close by.

I'm one of those that really don't see the big deal about the models.

What I do have a problem with is every game company having to appease people deciding what I like and don't like. If I'm fine with TERA as is why should I have to play some kid friendly version?

It's purely a matter of perspective. For you perhaps Elin are chlidren. For me the are just overgrown faeries. Or to put it in another context, if that race had scale like or crocodile like skin, would you still feel the same? Or if they made the rase as small in size as the faerie race from Everquest 2?

I have no problem with bikini armour and sexy avatars in games (I thoroughly approve in fact because these are not historical recreations of real armour, they are fantasy and sexy has been a part of fantasy since I can remember looking at things past LotR). Adults being shown in sexy clothing is good.

But...

Those children like Elin in knickers and suspernders are disturbing to me, let alone that video where they are all dressed like show tarts and are dancing being watched by a crowd of men.

I can't say I've ever tried or played an erotic MMO or online game

but I do think its a bit prudish to limit a game already known for that type of thing.

I agree with most others. I have zero interest in running around with a 12 yr old avatar with panties. The armour examples were really no big deal. Everything essential was covered. There should be sexy options for people, if they choose to wear such. Hopefully that is not the ONLY style available though. I'd like to be able to look at some men in skimpy outfits too :P

This sexually repressed society we live in is pretty sad. Running around mass-murdering in these games is fine, but when presented with something that equates to lingerie, it's a big deal? Get over it. Also, it's pixels.

I just played the free trial of Age of Conan a week or so ago and that game had giant boobies flopping all over the place. I even made my character's breasts as large as possible just to see what they would look like... unhinged. Not only that, but they added a feature to the game where you can actually wear all of your armor, but only actually show your naked body to the world.

So if that game has frontal nudity and people generally accept it for what it is, why do people have such an issue with TERA?

I guess I can see it from a developer point of view. They may want to have it hit under a mature rating and therefor fly under the radar of a lot of conscientious parents. Or something like that anyway. Certainly the bent over devil-like chick they have running around raises an eyebrow to those types of parents.

Keep in mind that the majority of MMO players are adults though. The latest surveys put the average in the 25+.
