So TB finally delivers. Glad to see he liked it.
I can't wait for his PvP-video.
Same here. I really like how you can see his play style progress from playing it like a typical MMO (be stationary, select the target, etc) to actually playing it as intended when he grasps how combat works.
This is my first time seeing a TB video and i got to enjoyed his comments about the game in general.
I only wished he had choosen a gaurdian class to play around with.
Total Biscuit does give a fair point of view on games he does first impressions of. Showing as if we were to play the game for the first time.

Quote: The combat is fast, it's responsive, it's visceral. There's a lot of variety available right here in terms of weapon types as well as skills. I like the way the skill system works. I like the way the "questing" works. I just like the game in general! I can't find anything whatsoever that I could poke a hole in at this point-- as much as I would like to. You know I like to do that. I can't, it is at this stage of the game probably the most promising MMO I've ever seen, and without question one to keep your eyes on under all possible circumstances. You would be very, very foolish to ignore Guild Wars 2.
This says it all....
To the OP, please add Cynicalbrit/Totalbiscuit to the topic titel, as that is what we are actually discussing here, his vallued opinion about this game.
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
this.
I haven't actually followed too much of TB's stuff, but I think he is a pretty good judge of quality based on the videos I have seen. I do have to say that the charr being called a cow bothers me a LOT less than it did last year...mostly because some of those horn options are pretty bovine in nature.
As for the warriors themselves, I know I am going to main a warrior especially after seeing this video. They just seem so tough and powerful.
I used to TL;DR, but then I took a bullet point to the footnote.
His outro comments were very telling of the quality of the game thus far. After watching multiple videos of GW2 from gamescom this year, vs. videos of other games (like SWTOR), GW2 is quite obviously going to be my next game. ANet has made things famililar enough where folks can pick up and play out the gate, but also deviated from the typical mmo model as of late to make the game feel fresh.
I just wish they'd take my money already.
I kinda like how he goes into it not really knoing much, I think it makes it easier to understand for people new to the game. But I would have liked it if he was a bit more fmiliar with the game.. like re-equipting his shield and what not.. maybe they should put that as a pop up tip.. "no secondary equiped" or somethin... Other than that.. good video.. just would have liked if he did a bit more research about it before playing.. they are not cows lmao
I think he knew more about the game then he pretended, but its his style to do these games reviews/handsons like being totally neutral.
I even suspect him of not equiping that shield again on purpose...

Makes me think he also did the cow thing on purpose. He likes poking fun at the people that get irritated by only the littlest of things.

I'll admit I havent seen amny of his videos so I'm not too familiar with how he does them. They we're still entertaining and I guess I've been trolled lol. I do agree have a neutral sorta noobish look on the game when presenting it does help new people understand it.
Cows, really? Sigh. TotalBiscuit, how typically oblivious and clueless an Englishman you are, how very typically so. Almost traditionally so in fact. And before anyone goes worrying about xenophobia on my part, you may where to check where I'm from. :P Mr. Biscuit is far from the first completely oblivious and clueless Englishman I've met, far from, he's a typical Southerner, really.
They just aren't very observant. Being observant isn't their thing. So I doubt that they would notice the difference between a herd animal and an apex predator. Why, even if an apex predator appeared in his backyard, he'd likely excitedly squeal "Ah, a moocow!" before attempting to milk it. That... would be his last act. Very, very typically English. Try not to be annoyed at him too much for it.

Reading back a bit, you people are greatly underestimating how clueless and oblivious an English person can be. If you'd met as many of them in person you'd realise that Totalbiscuit is actually like that, he isn't faking any of it. Cows? Yes, that's a common lack of observation. Not equipping the shield? That's a common lack of focus. If you watch his other videos you'll see he''s just like that. Trust me, you're giving our Englishfolk WAY too much credit. :P
You've been trolled by Mr Biscuit, Sir!
Hahah I knew that DC was going to take issue with the cow comment the moment I heard it .
Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob?
@Isasis
You didn't read my post, did you? You really didn't.
But believe me when I say that I'm more innately acquainted with British idiocy than you are. That wasn't trolling, that was just the cluelessness of an average Enlgish person. Believe me, you're giving him way too much credit. I can't even put it down to trolling because I've met too many people who are actually like that.
If you ever met some of the people that I have you'd be wanting to hide yourself from the world after actually believing that that was a trolling attempt. Seriously. He is like that. That's not trolling. That's just English.
@Creslin
Does it seem like I'm taking issue, though? I'm just pointing out how incredibly dopey English people can be as a British person. That people are taking this as trolling is making me sigh. It's not trolling, it's cluelessness, and you're giving it way too much credit. That means that every clueless English person I've met is a troll, and no, I can assure you that that is not the case. They're just clueless.
Good grief. You must think of the not too bright of our ranks as gods if you take every oblivious word as trolling, rather than simply not knowing. :P And that's all I'm pointing out.
(It's actually really embarrassing for me, as a British person, that you're buying into this as trolling. No. He's really like that.)
When he was playing with the sword and shield, I kept wanting him to put up his shield to block incoming blows. LOL! Sorry, Mount & Blade combat tends to cause you to wish for more control of every aspect of combat in these types of games. I just kept thinking though...OMG you have this huge shield and you aren't using it you noob! To bad games like this are not more dynamic in not only striking with a weapon, but also the ability to manually block incoming blows.
Otherwise, game looks OK. Nothing stood out that really grabbed me or made me want to write home about. Looked and played a lot like any other themepark/quest hub MMO from what I can tell. LOL even had a kill rats quest in that last area he encountered...nice.
Well yes it definitely seems like your taking issue with it. I didn't say that was a bad thing of anything. I just know that you like Charr a lot and you tend to take issue with things, so when I heard the cow comment, I knew you would have something to say about it .
Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob?
Yes, and people actually think that him not putting the shield back on was trolling rather than just how oblivious Mr. Biscuit tends to be. I like TB, but good grief, waching a number of his reviiews he can tend to be clueless. Not even insultingly so, and I feel like I'm from bizarro world at seeing people thinking that a relatively clueless British guy forgetting to put a shield back on is trolling.
It's... what? Seriously. I need to round up the clueless, oblivious people over here and make a television show out of them and sell it to the rest of the world, apparently.
I couldn't stop laughing after "battle cow".
I'll just point out that there actually is a skill for putting your shield up and physically blocking attacks/projectiles, it's just that it would be tied to skill usage and not, say, the shift key or rmb as in non-hotkey games.
TB does awesome vids and i am more than happy to hear him saying gw2 will be his main mmo now :> Means more awesome vids.
And here's his roundup vlog..
