SWTOR is dropping on the hot list

Why, can that be ?

Personally, I am afraid that the game will lose interest after a short period and leave the game's survival to the fan database, I really hope that this is plenty for the game, but doubt it.

Eh? I'm lost, what hot list?

Interest for a game before it is out ebbs and flows, I wouldn't put any stock in whatever list you're looking at. GW2 and SW:TOR are still the two most talked about upcoming MMO's on the net.

Yes this one, a a feeling that i get from random sites + my personal fear.

    All theese predictions :P

Only time will tell. I have seen the rise and fall of many games and I have learned not to jump on any bandwagon or hype before the game is realeased and been out for at least 3 months.

In the first weeks of a new game its going to be praised no matter what.. What really counts is what is the state to the game a year after.

That list is rubbish mate, I mean Champions online was 1st on that list at one point. Crap.

Oh yes, the hype meter on this site is such a marvel of statistical analysis, if a game drops on it, it's Doooomed...

Ps.: if you look at actually valuable numbers such as google analytics, you'll see the sw:tor official site is spiking ever higher, to the point where it's getting near to even Blizzard's homepages.

It also has more registered members than this site now.

Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!

lol, Champions Online was fun!  The best game for creating the perfect character.  I still like it and support it.  I just wish there was a bit more to it though....

Likely 1 million plus preorders in 3-4 weeks says different.  Imagine how many once beta weekends are underway and release date is given.

The hype for SWTOR hasnt even started yet.

You do realise there are millions of people who has never even heard of mmorpg.com who are mmorpg players. There are a lot of people who don't use mmorpg frequently either but only use it to get keys and stuff.

I was one of those people who only came here for the keys but now i post and check up on articles.

MMORPG hotlist doesn't matter at all. If a game isn't on the hotlist here it doesn't mean it's doomed. Look how popular Darkfall is on the hotlist, that gamedoesn't even havea  lot of subscribers yet it's very popular on mmorpg it seems.

SW:TOR was never a game I was looking to buy, but I was still interested in it. However the more and more I see from gameplay videos I loose more and more interest in this game. It looks terrible to me. This is just my opinion so no reason to bash me for it. You can have your own.

Meh, its likely not very reliable but you should probably ask yourself if people should really "give a shit" about another WOW clone? Sure its star wars but is that enough to carry it? I predict dissapointment.

SWTOR is still on my top hot-list of Single-Player, Heavily Instanced, Story-Rich RPG's.

Not surprised, the more EA shows the more people are finding out that it ain't going to be that great.

No problem if people dislike a game and negative comments are based on facts. But it really bothers me when people try to spread wrong information and the same goes for GW2. A single player heavily instaced really? they say repeat a lie long enough it begins to sound true.

You found your reason OP. Everyone that rates on the "hot list" has no clue about the game.

On most other sites however, SW:TOR is the most hyped game exclusive to PC.

Sure... no matter how wrong you gotto give thumbs up to all the in correct information floating on the internet. But then again you have been wrong about every single thing you have said about SWTOR and after so many video links, interviews, direct quotes from Bioware being shoved into your face, you haven't learned a thing or you just willingly ignore it on purpose. Gotto keep the negative train keep going.

I was just reading this and a thought came streaking across my mind like it does.  For some reason I was very pleased that star wars the old republic is PC only game cause Iv played consoles all my life but for god sakes there is no love in the PC genre right now, is this wrong thinking or what.

    Second!

Bioware is pushing their strengths is all.  They are known for story over gameplay.  Did anyone expect them to automaticly change company direction and become a company known for mechanics or PVP for that matter?!

I really think the people that havent played beta are going to be crushed on how bad this game is when they get to try it.  Just my opinion tho.

Actually they did. Don't speak for the rest of us please because not all of us just believe what a random guy tells us on the internet. The game is huge with 17 explorable planets on launch. People keep repeating 'heavly instanced single player' but have no facts or information to back it up. Whom should i believe? some random guy with biased attitude on forums or information coming from testers and Bioware itself? not a tough decision eh?

The game is probably going to get 4 million pre-orders before launch. That's hot enough.

I wouldn't put too much stock into what is on some typical gaming site where the biggest ad wins.

Wait until you see EA start spending some money here on the big page ads, then the game will mysteriously get "hot". It's been that way since Warhammer Online when everyone knew that game was garbage.

Look one month and 6 months out for a better perspective. MMORPG games are still topping the list.

  • ArzhAngelArzhAngel Member Posts: 427

I have only 1 prediction, and that is that SWTOR will die out to a minimum after the first 6 mounth, and then there will only be a small player database left.

    - Keep this post in your mail, return to it in 6 mounth after release and you will say, he was right ( I may add, again as before on other games )
