As with my other SWTOR thread, simply put, please answer the questions below on how these features work. Please use as much detail as possible and do not post any links. Use your own words to describe how these features actually work.
How do Dynamic Events work?
What is Crafting like?
What is GW2s end game like?
How does combat work in GW2?
How does PvP work in GW2?
How much of GW2 is instanced and/or how does GW2 handle instancing?

Cool link, thanks.
Don't link, want to hear from peoples own perspective if you read OP...
That was pretty hilarious. Great analogy too.
If I wouldn't know better I'd think you were a GW2 critic. ... But I DO know you better: stereotyping is just another shape of humor, the force of nature which musn't spare anything or anyone in Meowhead's world
My brand new bloggity blog.
Thank you for the laugh, I needed it.

Are you writing a thesis on game features?
I know that you already know of the features of each game, so I'm wondering what purpose does this serve?
Incoming wall of text from Cali59?

Probably trying to figure out how many / what % of people actually know anything about the topics they write about on these forums.
It's amazing how much misinformation and blatant lies are spread throughout these forums like a plague every.single.day.
It's not about researching the answers, not this thread, it's about the perceptions/perspectives/opinion of the users here.
Haha, no I don't have the energy today. I've written entire pages about just dynamic events before and I find myself never able to explain all the aspects as well as I'd like. I mostly just point people to the designing dynamic events video these days.
If I tried to answer all the questions, I'd be here all afternoon.
Sorry to disappoint you.
"Gamers will no longer buy the argument that every MMO requires a subscription fee to offset server and bandwidth costs. It's not true you know it, and they know it." -Jeff Strain, co-founder of ArenaNet, 2007
Fair enough. Although I find it interesting that someone would care enough to make mutliple threads about this.
For myself, these are just games. For those misinformed, I'll just point them to some links and be done with it. What I have found is that people, for the most part, once they have an opinion they won't change it even if it's based on ignorance.
Theres a number of reasons why I created the thread the way I did.
Firstly, I asked for no links, because its not just what the Developers say the features are, its the reading comprehension of the people interested in those features, coupled with their perception on how these features work.
Posting the link in the first place was a sleight against reading comprehension.
While I know the feature list, how many people do we have here that are excited, or not excited about a game, yet, when they tell you what that game "offers" they just happen to misrepresent quite a bit of the features, or botch the basic idea in the first place.
This thread wasn't meant to be a "lrn 2 google, lol" How much do people really know about the games they are psyched for, or the games they dislike? They say they've been following these games for months -- years -- yet the basic explanation of the most common features can't be voiced properly, and in the case of the two above... not at all?
Another reason is, it lets us see where the hype spawns from by the way people answer the questions. In truth, there is only one answer on how this works, yet in the other thread, we already have a number of alternate explanations. Sometimes likened to something they feel is "similar" other times, oversimplified, and sometimes direct and concise on the exact feature list. This speaks volumes on the kinds of people following the game and what their stance is.
You just made my day.....
If i was the OP i would bet my best money on that external link for correct information
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
There was no sleight against reading comprehension by my posting a link. I'm not a sheep. I don't generally just "do as I'm told," but rather I do what seems prudent and logical to ME. So you saying "no links"....meant nothing to me when I knew that my own perceptions and the facts are represented in the first post of that thread. Pure. Simple. Sorry you don't agree with me. Actually....I'm not sorry, you simply don't agree with me. Doesn't matter a bit. I posted my thoughts with a link that represents them well. You posted your opinion as well. Seems we have both done what we thought was needful.

It creates posts that the OP can argue wth. After all....isn't that what we're here for on this forum site? /end sarcasm

You didn't even post the link, you quoted someone posting the link... you also failed to understand my "opinion" (didn't know a series of questions could be an opinion, but .. )
I didn't agree or disagree with you either as you didn't have a stance one way or another. (what do I have to agree with or against you on, you didn't post any answers, you quoted a link).
This is ultimately what I was talking about though, people want to rave or complain about a game, but can't or choose not to try to put the feature lists in their own words. Its like paraphrasing a story, if you read 300 words of a story and are asked to paraphrase it, do you just hand them the book and say: "There it is, right there. All you need to know." ?
Its not uncommon to see people just miss the point of something entirely -- like an MMORPG.COM article, a developer commentary, or a video displaying features of an upcoming game. My questions are asking, who is actually capable of explaining it.
While I know that Meowhead and Cali could and chose not to, I'm starting to get the feeling that not too many others actually can.
Maybe they....and specifically I....don't want to waste their day arguing with you. I have posted regarding GW2 a LOT, and have posted that link (not quoted it) twenty or more times. I don't need your great approval to validate me. And I certainly don't need to be typing for two hours on such a re-hashed topic. This has been done repeatedly.
You're just pissed because no one WANTS to carry your thread on and expound on it so you can argue with them. I think it's rather funny.

My paper about GW2 in my own words.
Yeah so it has all these like events going on. And you can hit stuff in them and also mobs. Mobs hit back also. Then you can like do things there too with other people. Those people need to be good right. Like really good. Im just saying. Otherwise you fail. And if you fail, you do the different event. I mean you do it different. Like way different. So people are like Whoah! that is different! So you need to pay attention right. So you wont lose the event. Because it can be everywhere. Stuff happens everywhere in GW2! When you think it is there, its not and like over there! You see? There! You looked! Haha I trick you. But you know, those events are very dynamic. Dyyynaaamicc. There you go.
heh, Maskedweasel steps into the lion's den. Ive stopped asking questions that are important to me about GW2. I just end up getting yelled at. Just stopping by to wish you luck on your quest. Luckily, the corpse run is short.
I'm not arguing anything, I just asked a series of questions. I didn't ask for you to post on the topic, you chose to. Don't get mad at me because my explanation of the inanity and laze of others struck a cord with you.
Funny that out of all the post you simply responds to this one.
People looking for internet fights...sigh...
About the questions...why should anyone spend their time giving a truthfull answer when it's so blatantly obvious that you just want some fuel to start a flamefest?
If you really wanted answers or opinions, you'd either read the thread that was posted or you'd ask for opinions and not answers...
