Not game-breaking for me, but since ANet is being so innovative with everything else, I'm wondering if their loot system is also innovative.
Thanks!
Their loot system is very innovative.... it will be quite easy to get maxed stats when you are max level. The top gear from hard to defeat places and things will be all about the looks...

Loot drops that I've seen have been pretty basic, just a combination of Power/Precision/Tenacity/Toughness and additionally armor for, well, armor.
Class balance feels solid. I've played four (Thief, Ranger, Elementalist, Warrior) and they feel right.... I know in some of the PvP matches as well, the fan team could pick the comp for the dev team, and the devs wiped the floor with them despite wacky comps. I've heard engineers are bait undertuned, but I've also heard they're amazing. Same with the thief, and I think that's just because they both have a fairly high skill cap.

Thanks, but I wasn't really referring to max level gear. I was referring to loot drops throughout the game; gear that can drop from a regular mob. Will it be vanilla "greens" from a set loot table or will it be more random?
Like in Diablo 2, any loot that dropped had random stats. Is it like that or is it like all of the other MMOs?

I saw a few videos on the net and at the charr starting zone, from a random mob, i saw two rare "blue" drop one after another...

I actually replied to Lord.Bachus' post before I read yours. Great info.
Anyway, I'm going to bed and I can't guarantee that I'll get a chance to update this tomorrow. I do promise to have a full write up posted by Monday afternoon, and I'll be totally willing to do an indepth Q&A with you guys then as well. I'll try to check this a few times tomorrow to catch up on any last minute questions.
And yah, like Alot said, most loot has slots that you can stick upgrades into. The high level stuff (58 in the demo) had 3 slots for the major armor pieces.
On my way home from the con now. I'm afraid I didn't manage to do much today (going in costume got me stopped a lot for photos @_@) except play in the PvP tournament and attend the lore and writing panel. So I wasn't able to do any crafting (>_<) or ask about server structure.

-Will there be local (english) servers in europe... or will be all servers placed in the US, even the german and french servers?
-If there are localised servers in europe, would i still be able to join my friends on the US servers..
I hope you got a chance to read these before your last day at PAX,
Enjoy your last day.... and make sure to have some necro fun......
i know its not an answer, but im goign to reply with logic, rather then with valid information so take what i say with a grain of salt, think it ove rmaybe and wait for real information
there will only be 3 worlds, and as such ech one needs to be able to hold every player in 1 area, so each worls should have its own server cluster, maybe one server per map, a few server bacups and maybe a server runing logistics and such.
knowing that we know that each world has to run on its own server structure.
since you can change worlds we can already asume you can play with any of your friends.
and finnally, we can guess that world 1 may be NA, world 2 may be Euro and 3 can be wherever the hell they wish but im going to assume they may go with the usual eastren NA and West NA.
The lore panel was really good (Ree!) and I know a few of you had questions regarding returning characters. The cryptic answers we got were along the lines of 'some of them are, but you'll have to wait and see'

No, there won't be only 3 worlds. There will be lots of worlds, but their number must be a multiple of 3.

I think that's a pretty big leap of logic there. There aren't only three worlds. They haven't settled on final server capacities, but they've said it will be on par with other major MMOs.
World vs. World vs. World PvP pits three servers against each other, but not because there are only three worlds total, it's just the number matched against each other. I had assumed that the matchups would be static, the way other games split servers into "battlegroups", but I've heard talk that the matchups may change with each cycle, which would be cool if they can do so technically.
I don't think they have announced anything about where the servers will be located, or if players will be seperated by region.

After each two week matchup, the servers will be then matched up against new servers based on W/L record and active playerbase. This keeps the matchups fresh and balanced. This is why they need to keep the total number of servers as a multiple of three.
I'm speculating, but I would imagine they would have to keep the servers separate multiples of three for North America, Europe and Asia due to potential latency issues. Though because the servers cannot speak to one another during the match, I don't know of any gameplay reason why it couldn't matchup servers from different regions against one another. That would be pretty interesting to see how they compare.

Did you happen to notice if gear is customizable after it drops? Like, can you buy/loot augments for it (or made by a crafter)?
Yes, you can.
Sweet, thanks.

Herpy derpy, here you go!
Great, thanks all. Looking forward to your write-up on Monday, star.
Thanks for the info, looking forward to your report
No guild halls That is a shame but I do see the benefit of not having whole guilds staying away from city hubs all the time.

Great job OP.
Yep they paint on the PC.
I believe they are digital artists, as in their work is made with the use of PC, not pencil:>
