Nowadays it seems that there is nothing happening in the MMO-Market. Everyone is waiting for real good games to come out and it seems that it lasts forever!

"Real good" is extremely subjective, but as far as companies bringing the new games out, the above is a partial list of just some of the releases in the past year alone, which doesn't include the MMOFPS stuff like Genesis AD, MicroVolts, etc.

Actually, its not that subjective and none of the titles above can be considered "real good" MMORPG's.
We've been in the MMORPG Dark Ages since Nov 2004 and not sure there's a lot of light on the horizon.

The drought will end when companies make quality mmo's and release them when the game is ready to be released. Calling out the companies to release the game early is exactly what doesn't need to happen. Why do game companies keep making steaming piles of crap and releasing them early? Because many of us enable them to do just that.

Well we get item shops left and right and seem that there are plenty of people who are happy to spend alot of dollars to buy some pixels. Pfft

This is only for close-minded sandbox fans. Other MMO gamers have had quite a blast with the MMO's that were there in the meantime fixed
(Im a sandbox fan and have been enjoying the hell out of all types of mmos since 2001)

I'm looking at the release of SWTOR and GW2.
if both of those suck, it doesn't seem like anything good will be on the horizon anytime soon.

The fact that world of cars is in this list shows how bad the year has been....
I wasn't around through all of this, but the way I see it...
The first few games were really new and fresh.
The next generation of games built off of what was and added in their own themes and ideas, still fun.
The next generation was a rehash of the second generation, but were acceptable.
The next generation... a rehash of a rehash and things started to get boring.
With so many generations and so many games, I guess it's getting harder and harder to find a game that doesn't feel like "been there, done that".

Actually, its not that subjective and none of the titles above can be considered "real good" MMORPG's.
We've been in the MMORPG Dark Ages since Nov 2004 and not sure there's a lot of light on the horizon.
Since a sane and rational person can disagree with your unilateral declaration, it's indeed entirely subjective.
Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
I think the reason MMOs seem to be in the dark ages is that we have many single player games that shine well such as Fallout and the upcoming Skyrim. These games have excellent graphics, roleplay, and in the case of Fallout even a bit of humor. Everyone has different tastes when it comes to MMOs so I'm not sure you'd ever satisfy everyone. However, I think storyline and interesting NPCs are essential regardless of whether the game is like World of Warcraft, SWTOR, Everquest II, or Guild Wars. I think overall people like to be surprised by NPCs such as by being betrayed, promoted, or introduced to a new secret society. NPCs have been regulated in MMOs to mere icons with exclamation points over their heads. If NPCs were more than bread crumbs and bulletin boards for quests then I think at least one aspect of MMOs would improve.
It takes a lot of commitment to go into a mmog. Problem is, in such a current market, it is hard to find funding for such a big endeavor. On average, investors want a success story in this area as a prerequisite before any money is transfered. To be honest, more money can be generated in shorter time with single player games, and over the long run a mmog (when done right) will yield a return every year. This dry spell is from the lack of company funding, not every studio will make multiple mmogs just to fill the gaps in dry spells for the seasons.
I struggle not with life, money, emotions, and world, but against old mindsets and selves to be proven obsolete in a age and time of rapid changes. Go create fun, so you can have fun.
Funding is definitely a big factor and sometimes you have to be careful of certain companies that initially put out a good MMO but then do not support it and worse some companies will strangle their MMO creations to get every drop of money they can. Thats when you see all the advertisements spring up on the MMOs main webpage and when the mass amount of microtransactions appear. I find it harder and harder to find a MMO supported by a company with good integrity.
I just said screw it and started playing Tera in Korea.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
MMO have never evolved. When they try, and I use "try" very very loosely, they fail. Turning an MMO into a death match game doesn't work (Fury, APB, somewhat crimecraft, etc). Right now, companies are more interested in making money rather than making their dream MMOs because there are greedy old bussiness mean leading them rahter than gamers/real game developers. Thats why you have old farts like the creator of Zwinky, IMVU, farmville etc etc making hundreds of millions each on garbage "games" bcause they know most people are stupid and will buy (put money into) their garbage.
The video game industry is going through what the music and movie industry has gone through. So it will never end because it will always make the top CEOs money. So there will always hundreds of shitty games for every 1 decent game. And only 1 good game will come out for every thousand or so of shitty games.
Well, mainly for MMOs, but non-mmo games aren't far behind at all. Just have to hope that all these people dumping thir money into horrible crap like zynga games get bored and go back to watching day time TV
The non-mmo games are even worst I think. Yeah you have some good projects, but they making games come out with a new sequel every year is just disapointing. Take assassins creed, AC1 and 2 had a few years between both, and now they gonna start spewing one every other year, AC2-AC Brotherhood and next AC3.
Call of Duty games there is absolutely no reason to launch one every year. Take Counter Strike1.6, an awesome game for its time, still played by thousands 13-14 years after launch, from CS1.6-CSS there was what, 6 years apart?
Its clear that some companies only want to keep producing games very lacking in quality or improvement from their last sequel instead of making games that last for years and years, and allow to build a community.
I haven't bought a COD game since MW1(after that it all went to the dogs), and I bought that because it was a rather big change from COD2, which was a brialliant game back then. But the actual difference from MW1 and COD BC ins't all that much, only forcing the community to move forward and leave older games empty to force more sales on the newer sequel.
Gaming companies are all going to the dogs, with just a few companies that produce a very good quality game every 4-6 years (like witcher1 and 2 for eg)

Gaming in general have improved dramatically over the past few years. If you only look at the 'mainstream' ones then yeah, what you say might be true for you. I thought ME2/DA:O was excellent.
But the indie scene is bigger than ever and more unique games are coming out. Minecraft? Recetear? Osmos? AudioSurf?
Bastion? the list goes on and on and on.
Broaden your horizon and you'll be surprised.

Really ?
Personally I am still waiting for the ultimate classic fantasy game.
But its only in my head and the closest there is in reality is Vanguard.
I'm playing Spiral Knights, which launched earlier this year, and I think it's pretty good.
You can always say there's nothing to do, if you exclude everything that actually is available.
For what it's worth, the longest period of nothing really ought to include the 16th century BC.
