I love everything this game is trying to do, I love the more realistic rules (closer to old UO than todays typical MMO's). I love the rough controls and all the work.
I love it a lot, and I refuse to pay for such a half finished game. Expansions are being released before small bugs are tackled. I know this has been said a million times....but I just can't believe it.

You can tell that by the fact that he comes in and says he refuses to pay a monthly fee due to the bugs...
Thank you, maybe my UO reference is based on it being a lot closer to UO(fel) than something like wow, which is one of the games i played for a while about a year ago.
Maybe I should have said I just enjoy sandbox's.
Are you new to the game? Either you have been paying for a "half finished" game or your trial just ran out. This is nothing new, MO/SV have always been this way. What was the final straw that forced you to break your 3+ year silence here on MMORPG.com?
I win!!! LOL@U
I don't agree entirely either. The game does still need work, and it also needs more systems and content.
But I find what's there is still a heck of a lot of fun to play, so I continue to do so. Everyone's different.

I am new to the game and have only played the trial, but I have played mmo's since ultima was about one or two years old. I noticed in the trial my skills were limited on how high I could get them. I do love a lot about the game and would play it till the bitter end if I could justify paying for it.
I currently play eve and just play solo, and pay for my account with isk. I'm starting to think I'm just extremely cheap lol I also play ffxiv because at the moment its f2p.
I fully agree with this post Rohn. Does that mean its snowing in hell right now lol.
Seriously I am glad you are having fun and am sure others are as well- Hell, I have had fun in MO. Fun is subjective. I have never stated that people dont have fun there and respect anyones opinion on how they feel about the game.
I think most would agree with me- My (and many other folks problems) are with SV as a company, the speed of content, the rampant bugs, etc.
I think anyone interested should try the free trial.
Sick thing is, that half-a-game has been more fun for me than any other sandbox mmo that I've come across. I would unsub in disgust, but I just can't really justify spending my mmo-budget on a 100% complete game that bores me to death... ymmv.
I really did enjoy the trial. I'm a starving artist so its gotta be pretty insane for me to spend 15 bucks lol that could feed me for a few weeks!
If you really eat for a few weeks off $15.00 you are clearly a very clever (or very starving) individual. =P
-However, I would take a Pitcher of beer at the pub over a month of MO...Even bad beer. =D
I do, and manage to stay pretty healthy, also I would agree on the beer but survival comes first! In MO I wanted a house constructor, and just a typical warrior. Really love the idea of house construction, even in RL.
You'd also have to buy the game @ $35.00 lol
I win!!! LOL@U
Thats about $100 too much.
Shoot, doesnt look like there is much MO in my future!
If money is that tight, please hold off and stick to the free games. Frankly, the future of MO is in question.
I win!!! LOL@U
You can get it from Direct2Drive for $23.95.

Do they offer refunds? MO seems to be in dire straights at the moment, what if things change?

Fun? tell me what you have the most fun doing? is it hitting on a rock for 4 hours? or chopping wood for 4 hours? or killing wisents for 4 hours? or is it waiting for the 6 hours for the nitre queen to spawn?...
I'm really curious because I've been doing the trial in the last weeks and I am really struggling to find anything fun to do in this game.
Actually now that I think about it, the only fun thing was back in beta when thievery was working good and I would love to steal during nights and have people running everywhere screaming "guaaaaard" not knowing where I was, while I was jumping from roof to roof in Fab...
yea im the same, after MO i just cant justify a subscription to any other current mmo, i tried aoc with the f2p and fonud it way worse than i remembered it. Eve i will possibly try again and certainly looking forward to both archeage and darkfall2.0 but truth is right now there is no mmo i would rather play over MO. I reckon it will still be the case once both archeage and darkfall2.0 have released. I like the dev communication in MO, its usually everyday or at least weekly. Sure there was some dev silence for the past couple of weeks but we only complain because we are used to daily interaction. Compared to other mmos who get 1 statement per month MO does it right here.
I have fun playing MO, bugs are annoying but i would rather play mo with bugs than wow without.
there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.
i think his main point here is that he likes the game, but he will not pay for a monthly subscription to a game, he pays for eve with ingame currency and he palys a f2p game. He would likely love to play mo f2p but a game that he would pay for would have to be something special, likely little to no games currently would he pay a sub.
I think hes likely not wanting to say goodbye this early with MO afterall his trial has ran out. But doesnt want to pay a subscription and so made a thread as a last goodbye, since he is forced though his own funds and unwillingness to sub to a game to say goodbye.
but i honestly understand if you are a very fussy gamer when it comes to MMO subscriptions then a buggy game is likely not a game you would sub to regardless of how much fun you have had with it.

Who are you replying to? Thats not even remotely what the OP said...
"and I refuse to pay for such a half finished game."
He doesn't think MO is worth paying $$$ to play, put enjoyed his trial. Hell, even I liked the game for longer than 2 weeks.
Keep spinning
I win!!! LOL@U
was a reply to funkmastd's post sorry forgt the quote.

I just watched the video for this game, and it got my attention. Then I started reading posts. Seems to me Eve started out the same way, I have played that game since beta 2, and this is a new title, go play something else for awhile....something free then come back in about 6 months to a year. Most MMO's are never code complete. or yyou can hang in there and send your bug reports and help out.
Which video? I ask because the teaser/trailers are complete BS and arent representative of the actual game.
New title? It was released 15+ months ago and they bought the Unreal Engine in 2007. The old wait 6 months story is going on its third round.
I win!!! LOL@U
I am still waiting on the "town life" that was supposed to come (if I rember correctly) with the first epic patch. SV can make some awesome teaser videos , no doubt. The problem is you will want to play the game in the trailer and wonder why they made something else.
This type of reasoning is used a lot in the MO fanbase.
Problem is, the game is not made great by the fact that the CEO likes to do some advertising himself once in a while. I don't care how often the devs post in the forums, I care about what they say and how they say it. Imo it would be better if Henrik (or preferably someone like Mats or Sebastian, who actually know what they're talking about and are also fluent in English) had followed a regular, per-month update schedule - instead of going all bipolar and flood the forums with unfocused and hyped-up posts and promises during one period, and then turn absolutley mute during another.
That way, we'd have a sense of planning and progression. Instead we have a lot of random promises and vague responses hidden among the players' forum posts. We have no dates, no ETAs, no roadmaps, no nothing. Just the usual "we're working on this, we're working on that".
