I am a girl...I play girl characters...enough said.
Just remember you can play anything you want to play in a RPG. That's the glory of imagination and Roleplaying. If a guy wants to play a girl character for whatever reason (or girl playing a guy character) they are more than happy to. But, I think its just stupid to play a girl for the handouts...that's WRONG!

Magic has always seemed pretty girly to me, but occasionally Ill create a spellcaster in a game just to see what its like. Its usually just an alt and I'll make it a girl for fun. It's entirely a "how does the other side live?" type of thing.
For the longest time I never understood why so many guys played Female Char. Then I read how a lot of guys did not like looking at a male but all the time as they played. LOL
Sometimes I act like a female sometimes a male on my female characters, it depends on my mood. And no, I never accept free items, well maybe from those sick geeks who hit on girls so much (that makes anyone disgusted), just to piss them off and teach them a lesson.
I usually play male for warriors and female for spellcasters, but it can vary.
I didn't have time to read this whole thread but I wanted to say (like others have) that as a male I like watching a female avatar better. I play both male and female pretty balanced but when I play male characters I find myself going into first person mode most of the time.
The question of this post assumes that the human culture... more specifically, the "American culture"... only has 2 genders. Yes, this may be what you see portrayed most often around you and in the media, but that doesn't mean that's all there are. The Native American / First Nations people, for example, have always recognized and venerated the "Two-Spirited" people. These were folks who were born with the outward expression of male or female but wanted to live as the other, or were born with ambiguous genitalia (this can fall along a variety of spectrum). Within the First Nations culture, these Two Spirited people were revered for being able to have more than one perspective (i.e. either male or female only). There are other gender identities within the White culture in the U.S., as well -- transgender, transsexual, etc. All this without going outside the U.S.!
Just because one can only choose "M" or "F" in a video game, an application for school, or a driver's license, doesn't mean that's all there is to choose. Limited vision offers limited choices.

I'm a guy and I play mostly guys, except every now and then when a certain class just seems more feminine.

More Females need to act like men
I have a good share of both...

I'm a male, btw.
Just a side note...
Whenever I play a female character I dont do free handouts and If someone asks if Im a guy I'm always up front with them
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
dude you might as well take handouts
