i preordered this game so damn hard, my credit card company called me and asked me if everything was ok and if it was actually me that had made the purchase. I bitch slapped that CS agent and said, foo dont you know this is the SWTOR preorder. You better recognize mother f$cker and then hung up the phone on their bitch ass.
Sounds to me like you'll be playing a Sith Sorcerer at launch?
Dont make me go Mace Windu on yo punk ass.
And we all know what happened the last time he was sent to kick some Sith sorcerer butt don't we
Mace Windu has interference from another player. He was actually winning the battle until the other player character got invovled and distracted him and gave time for the losing side to get off a push attack that threw him out of the window.
In a stand up fight 1 on 1 i think Mace would have won.
There's that and I heard him telling Yoda afterwards how it was a bad map and he got some terribad server lag .... right
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. 1. All the story lines and quests ect are 100% voice acted.

how is guild wars an mmo? =p
it doesnt have a sub so no one subs it, even with the free to play after purchase almost no one plays it for more then 3-6 months other then maybe for a couple hours every few months after that.
you dont even have to level in 1, you can just select maxed out character and go duel people in the gimp crap pvp.
sorry but i fail to see how a game i cant call an mmo can change the mmo market sir.

ok to follow your process, since its 2 instead of original:
all 2 sequel mmos have sucked hard compared to the original, eq2 compared to eq, ascherons call 2 compared to ac, just to name a couple of epic fails
so you really want to have guild wars 2 be an mmo now do ya?

You do now that this type of generalization is a fallacy and not an argument?
Bioware game so lots of RPG. Softcore porn at the end of the game after you woo over a bland and generic Bastila or Carth wannabe from leveling 1-100. Hopefully can kill Carth just like they did in Mass Effect. And spit in Bastila's face for being a cunt.
Beyond the story which most will skip since most people can read faster then the people read the lines to them. Plus choices which are broken down like this:
A. good
B. middle
C. evil
D. tell me more crap on this subject
Cover system will be just like Mass Effects. So enjoy coming out of cover and getting raped because their is no dodge or roll system implemented to change from cover to cover.
Rest of the game will be the same old traditional MMO stuff. Healers and DPS spamming in town "LF SI(Sith Inquisiter) for Star Forge run! PST". Expect lots of lightsabers and Revan wannabe's and grinding through a story line no one will understand or care for after the next 50 levels.
End game will be gear grind and idiots spamming in major cities. Expansions will just add more gear grind.
Welcome to the world of MMO's. You were expecting something new? Cause it sure as hell wont be anything you haven't played before.
You know there's a reason TOR and other Bioware games have so much emphasis on story. Otherwise they'd just be mindless loot hording games like your typcial Arpg. Mindless loot hording games are fine if that's your thing. Other people like to see some form of plot being told, some context about why they're in the world, as well as a purpose to serve within it. Not to mention characters brought to life rather than spoon feeding you fetch or kill quests over and over through text or crude VO.
You can thumb your nose at questing and story focus all you want, however, it serves a purpose people like you just don't seem to understand. You can have your massively multi-player Diablo, I'll opt out though, that's not my thing.

If you pre-order you get early access and can play the game a week or longer before it's out.
However they said that you get access earlier than others depending on when you pre-order. So i wouldn't recommend pre-ordering now when it's been a while since pre-orders opened
For those who are scared it will be a WoW clone. It's hardly possible considering it's a Story telling game which WoW is not that one reason alone makes it not WoW. The gameplay is point and click we all know that but WoW did not invent point and click.

I agree neo, the guy didn't read the thread right. He was using GW instead of GW2 for a weak argument and switched over to the childish phallic statement when he found you were correct. Also, you can't base everything on a name, I would have generally liked a new name given to GW2 but the GW name was and is still very popular even though the new game is entirely different than the first.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
Ok so the fact that i mixed up armor types makes me a troll, I have played this game and it plays like wow. Fans may hate me for saying it but it is true. Yes they added voice acting and it is starwars but the gameplay and mechanics are nothing new. I have alot of friends who will be playing and I will buy the game to continue playing with the same people but I am not nearly as excited about this game as I was originally. Stealth and backstabbing with the counselor is rogue all the way no matter what you want to hear.

Isn't it great to have different opinions as long as you don't try to force it down other peoples throat? i too played SWTOR on several ocassions and it plays nothing like WOW and looks nothing like WOW. Infact, combat is more close to COX and graphics, art style has more similarities with KOTOR than any other MMO.

I agree with you, but then again, some people will say that CoX plays exactly like WoW, while others will say that as good as all MMO's are exactly like EQ in feel when it comes to classes and combat, so it's all very subjective. In fact, a few days ago there was someone who pulled pictures from a singleplayer SW game and claimed that it looked exactly like WoW

lol I am not here to shove it down anyone throat and I am sorry if my comments came off that way. I did not say it was a bad game in any way and I did not even mention the graphics which i personally like. I just simply said that it does indeed play like wow (like it or not) and after doing testing (not playing the game on several occasions) I am not as excited as I was and I was really expecting to see some new combat mechanics from a company with this kind of background in producing amazing games.
edit-----maybe when I compared this game to wow it just made people mad in general maybe I should have just said the melee subclass of the counselor feels like every steallthy backstabbing class from all previous MMO's I have been played

What does "Plays like wow" mean to you? Because it doesn't play like WoW to me. Just because you have a stealth class doesn't mean it plays like WoW. The skills are mapped differently than WoW too, so actually playing it has a different feel to it. Mobility is much different than WoW too. There are quite a few classes that utilize positioning, which is important, whereas its really not in WoW.
I edited my previous statement, in general you have the 2 subclasses for each classes and then three trees for that particular subclass. The class I played (counselor) with the melee subclass ( I chose because the dual bladed lightsaber looks badass) gets stealth and has a "backstab" skill that it just seems to me that they picked the normal run of the mill subclasses from all previous MMO's and put jedi skin on it. With that said people will play the game for themselves and create thier own opinion of it (which is the smartest thing). I am simply saing that with the amount of work that went into producing the story and all of the voice acting I would have liked to see them try something new with classes rather than the traditional mmo formula. again I am not saying this game sucks and that nobody should buy it and all that anti starwars mumbo jumbo, I am simply saying that I expected more.

I think it really depends on the class you play. Smugglers play much differently depending on your spec, while knights play somewhat standard. Troopers have some neat little nuances that are different from the norm, but bounty hunters have specs that are very mediocre in the sense of what is "new" to the genre.
Also, the class is a consular not a counselor. That being said, I really hope we don't have too many counselors running around backstabbing people. That would be unfortunate.
if you do not preorder you will most likely loose the chance to be part of the launch of the first true Massive Multiplayer Game ever build giving a true meaning to the Massive term in terms of data and media included.
The launch can go smooth or rough, but either way will be a point in the gaming industry history to remember..
I may still get the game but probs wont pre order then
If you're not one hundred percent sure about a game then that will always be the best choice. I myself am looking forward to this game, but I'm still waiting until release. It's not like they are going to run out of boxes and I could care less about being the first to play a game. Let the first timers deal with all the lag and long loading times
Don't pre-order because you'll never get in the beta because I pre-ordered and I never got in.
You were never EVER guaranteed to get into beta because you pre-ordered. In fact they were very clear that you would get "Early Game Access" which means a few days prior to the official launch, but not be guaranteed beta access.
