I dunno, their stock is at a three month high of about 4.75 U.S. cents. It's up from apparently 0 about a week or two ago. Maybe they did sign up more people than they lost in the last couple of weeks.
Let's get real here... there is a VERY good reason that Henrik uses the FORUM MEMBERS as an advertisement for the game, because the forum members *never* go down. The game population on the other hand, continues to go down because the proof is in the pudding -- the financial results.
Now if you choose to believe the population is on the rise, that's great -- but it has zero basis in reality, and as SV themselves have shown you, they are not willing to advertise the number because it's absymally low. With their history of deception and mistruths, I'm surprised that some people run and get excited about what they say, when most of the time they exaggerate and flat out lie about what the reality is. I'm having a good feeling that "Territory Control" will be one of these things as well, and I know that the subscription numbers are for sure.
The question here is, does Talwin really have access to the subscription numbers for the game?
If you believe he does, then the pop could be rising. I say "could be" because Talwin is in a position where getting more people into the game would benefit him and he is probably not allowed to say anything negative about the game such as, the population is going down. Seriously, do you see someone in his position telling everyone in IRC that the pop is going down?
If you believe he doesnt have access to actual sub numbers, there is no way to prove it unless you can get a high ranking member of MO like Henrik to confirm that Talwin does not have access to that information. I highly doubt Henrik is going to help confirm a declining population.
The point is, in all reality, neither side can say with any definition of certainity which direction the population is moving in. The only factual piece of information we have is the annual report which continues to show SV losing money which would indicate they are losing subs.
"Sean (Murray) saying MP will be in the game is not remotely close to evidence that at the point of purchase people thought there was MP in the game." - SEANMCAD
The truth is plain and simple everytime the bots have run in here and said "the pop is surging!!!" they have been proven wrong with every financial report. EVERYTIME!

The amount of gullibilty in this thread is amusing. I recall some other mod, namely pendragon claiming MO had hundreds (direct quote) new users daily. Yeah right.
And yes, it is in Talwins interests to promote the game he puts so much time into, volunteer or not, so I would take everything he says with a galloon of salt, considering how much of a fanboi he is.

Goober! Goober! Goober! Now you're just messing with me! Stop It!
That's what U.S. Cents are. Dang it. Now I've said it so much it doesn't sound like a word anymore and I have to go look it up on the internet.
A cent is 1/100th of many national currencies (including the U.S. Dollar, Canadian Dollar, British Pound and the Irish Pound) and is often called a penny. The word cent derives from the Latin word "centum" meaning 'hundred'. Cent also refers to a coin which is worth 1 cent. The coin is also referred to as a penny.
StarVault's stock topped out at about 4.75 U.S. cents/pennies, or 3.7 British cents/pennies. I don't know what it's worth in Ireland. Probably nothing since they probably don't play the game in Ireland.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
Seems rather odd that an account that was created in 2007 and never posted once in 5 years (07,08,09,10,11) suddenly springs to life and posts 13 times singing the praises of MO all in the same day. Rather odd indeed...
I recently started subbing to the game and while browsing around the internet, I come across MMORPG and decide to check out their page and forum for Mortal, and what do I see? A lot of troll post on the game that are baseless, and are just spite, all form 3-4 accounts that are created around the same time and have similar number of post.
So I dusted off my old account and decided to reply. When I replied to a post, I got more spit and baseless anger, so I decided to put some positive post here, instead of just a bunch of baseless hate and spite that has no real reason to be there. It's just there because someone got angry at the game and now wants to hurt it.
Please do enlighten us then on the troll posts or baseless claims. Make sure you have facts and not opinions or conjecture.
20:56 [AQ]Darran its less populated than 4 months ago
20:57 [LM]Talwin That's not true. There may be less groups of armored players in vocal guilds running around, but the population has grown since Dawn.
The population of the game is going up, more guilds are popping up, and more players from more places are coming to the game. In my own guild, which I recently joined, there has been a massive increase in trial players (all have subbed, as well) in the past few weeks. The game is gaining more and more popularity as it is becoming more polished and gaining new content!
Are you claiming that a blurb from a volunteer moderator who runs the main MO fansite has some sort of validity?
Honestly.. I can spend 5 minutes and dig up similar claims (by different people who also have only a handful of posts) which span back to release. Yet each time the financial reports come out we have proof that the subs are small and the game is hemmoraging money...
Are you honestly trying to claim that the Lead Moderator and one of the most well-informed person who isn't on SV's payroll is pulling something out of his anus? Because he's not and never has. He has direct contact with the people who have access to such information. Please, have something to actually base your argument on other than that you are angry about something.
I seriously doubt that a Volunteer Moderator has access to sensitive company business like account numbers or trends of population.
henrik won't tell his investors how many subs he has but he tells Talwin?? comical.

Exactly. We have invited Black Opal the community manager to join us here and point out what he calls "the grey areas". We know he visits this forum frequently, but for some reason just does not want to engage in an open (uncensored) debate). Still. I stand by my previous statement that we have heard similar stories before. Folks pop in, claim "Population is booming!!!". They then disappear... and we get the next financial report which shows the company hemorrhaged money... AGAIN. That is the only proven FACT....

LOLOLOL, and Talwin, most dishonest and power abusing nazi claiming BS randomly and you believe him ! trollololol
Also if the population was going up, SV would be bragging about it, unfortunatly, all SV ever gave in terms of numbers to give an indication of the population was usually the numbers of forum accounts.
I read the MO forums and see threads about guilds disbanding due to low pop, people leaving due to lack of stuff to do...

I will translate.
AQ Darran =lots of vets have quit
Talwin= Many vets have quit. There are new people trying the game.
Let me translate since I am in Darran's guild. He is one of a few members to be out scouting for pvp every day.
He says he gets very little activity on a regular basis, and sometimes the entire world seems empty. Darren is an EU-time player and maybe thats a reflection of his timezone. I haven't noticed a lot of activity prime US times, either, but you can usually find a fight if you try hard enough.
There is no possible way the ACTIVE population has grown since dawn - I played at dawn and it was semi-packed with people. It is nowhere near that now. Many people who have stopped playing are still subscribed, but I seriously doubt the overall sub numbers have gone up. In my own guild the number of unsubs was very high.
There is no way MO's population has been going up. If anything it has dropped significantly.
In fact, once my sub runs out im done, which should be next month. I'm pretty sure most of my guild will be done with MO as well.
The game is dead. I play US EST time. You can run city to city and literally count the amount of people playing. There are more people playing in a 64 man FPS Server. Just saying, if you don't agree go around and count the people do the math. Even IRC numbers are rediculously low.
The problem with MO is the management of that company. Whoever is calling the shots is pretty bad (henrik). They spend their time coding in cooking, butchery, alchemy but leave out the most basic features of any MMO.
On top of that their poor direction they seem to lack good quality and efficiency because we see the same bugs reapear or with each patch they introduce new gamebreaking bugs like the one where people were able to steal your house. (i never did get my stuff back from the chest, thanks SV )
Bottom line is Mortal Online had potential and they never capitolized on that potential. They went down the wrong paths, went after things they shouldn't have all while failing to maintain good customer service policies. The population is dwindling, the people you see that join the game will be out of the game within a month because of the lack of basic thing to do and the massive amount of bugs. I would be really surprised if Mortal Online can survive for another year. They for sure wont be getting any more money from me unless they make a complete turnaround.

Starvault should be out of money by November based on their historic monthly loss.

I never bought into the methodology for a number of reasons, but if you follow the same line of reasoning... MO's paid population is now at the lowest point in the last year (maybe all-time)
There were 2168 payments made between my payment on September 5th and my payment on October 5th. So I hypothesize that there are approximately 2168 subscriptions at this time.
