Aside from the awesome musical scoring courtesy of Jeremy Soule, why not include an afficial theme song too? Anyone agrees with me on this? If so, who do you think they should have it sing?
The FF song sounds like a cheesy pop song about love, like the cheap stuff you hear on the radio every day. I would not mind an official song but only if it sounds "heroic"...
I don't think a song like that fits the GW2 theme at all, it feels more like a filler pop song IMHO. Personally, at least in the fantasy genre, if there are lyrics I'd rather them be choral themes and preferably in a language I don't understand (though I'd make exceptions if there's a song that's apropiate for the setting, like the one Pippin sings to Denethor in Return of the King). I wouldn't mind seeing a song like this in a game set on a more modern setting, like TSW will be, for example.
Other than that, I could see songs from (to put an example) groups like Rhapsody of Fire working in a GW style game, but only the more melodic and less metal ones, and also depending on setting. A couple of examples:

Yep the Final Fantasy series does the love theme by far the best.Their games have installed a great amount of emotion in them, which is one reason they were so great. Now a days all games are about a business model that is fast/easy and makes a profit. There is no heart felt game design anymore, but more worries about will it work as a browser based game and where is my hardcore pvp.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Within temptations clipp is by far the best title song of any MMO so far...
I think allowing a big time band like Within Temptation to create a clip with ingame matterial is just an awesome pice of game marketing...
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
I always remember Moonlight shadow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCp57YGiEBU , but cannot remember from what MMO game it may have been a perfect world game ?.
Anyway i would love Evanescence to do a theme tune, would be great
Ps Evanescence over Within Temptation anyday :P
Don't have any direct sources from Arenanet, but I thought the new Norn theme was supposed to be GW2's main theme?

What can men do against such reckless hate?
