I honestly don't understand what's bad about having Pandaren in the game...
... Pandas = awesome...
... Kung Fu = awesome...
Awesome + Awesome = 2(awesome) = twice the value of awesome. It's simple mathematics, folks.
Besides, comparing kung fu pandas with ugly shadowcasting midgets? I'd go with kung fu panda any day of the week. Also, this allows them to explore another cultural template, and can lead to some creative game elements. Amazingly enough, I'm as bad as they come when speaking of WoW naysayers. But how is it I find myself defending WoW with their new design choices for Mists of Pandaria? I'll no doubt be playing Guild Wars 2 if it's released by then, but I might hop on WoW and try out the new pet battles system, dungeons challenges and, of course, the pandas!
When did Pandas become awesome ? they sit around most of the day eating bamboo . they are endangered partly because they have very little maternal instinct . I'll give you one thing they are pretty cute and unlike other bears they are not going to see you as lunch .
Maybe its time to look up the definition of the word awsome instead of using it without really knowing what it means ???

Rofl, how can you tell someone else what is or is not awesome... not like it's an opinion right?
I'll quote what I wrote in another forum about you people who obviously have no idea about Pandaran lore:
"They were in WC3, they were part of the story"...
LOL...
The ACTUAL history was they were ORIGINALLY created as one of Blizz's EPIC April Fool's Pranks. BECAUSE of the public reaction they were added to WC3.
So get that straight.. they started as a JOKE. Now Blizz is adding them in all seriousness. Why not add the permadeath wisp? That was intriguing atleast.
The other issue I have is that if they would have been added during B.C. like they were originally thought to have, they wouldn't have been ridiculed as much. Kung Fu Panda was not released until 2008, B.C. released in 2007. It would have been a SAFE choice.
Releasing it AFTER 2 Kung Fu Panda movies makes it subject to ALL the possible ridicule it deserves.
It doesn't matter one bit. We know. Pandaren have become quite popular in demand since then. Hell, I wanted one. Like I said before, comparing it to kungfu panda (Which is awesomesauce) is just a cheapshot from people that simply hate WoW and felt compelled to ONCE AGAIN voice their disgust.
This is getting tiring.
Note that I'm not subscribed to WoW. But I'm mature enough to see the next expansion adding a lot of fun things (Because that's what games are about?). Although, things are still vague on most of the announced features.
Blizzard has been a solid game developer for almost 2 decades(?). They seem to be able to make good, polished games. There isn't much information about Titan, other than it's a SciFi centered game.
Who knows, maybe they'll redefine the MMO genre twice and zombify all the Blizzard haters, who mostly hate them for being top dog.
I like pandas in zoological gardens but well, i dont play WoW so i only wonder if they be that desperate, or if the WoW playerbase really has..."this taste"...and will like it.
"Torquemada... do not implore him for compassion. Torquemada... do not beg him for forgiveness. Torquemada... do not ask him for mercy. Let's face it, you can't Torquemada anything!"
The only ones leaving WoW because they (finally) add the Pandaren, are the ones that have no idea about Warcraft Lore.
I'm serious, read it up. I'lle hint: Warcraft III, Frozen throne.
Yea I dont care.
Batman is one of my favorite super heros. Lots of people seem to dig that stuff. There are characters in the batman universe like Bat Mite. And even Bat Dog. But that doesnt mean Im going to buy a comic book, watch a movie, or play a game featuring such rediculous characters.
Sometimes canon can get a little goofy. Just like in this case. It doesnt mean the IP is bad, but this idea was a bad one, and if the Pandarians were just so darn cool I really think we would have seen them in vanilla WoW. There's been three expansions now and at any time they could have added them. But didnt. Which tells me at this point they are grasping for ideas. Any idea. And yes, Kung Fu Pandas that are walking talking bi pedal creatures is incredibly lame.
And for those of you thinking WoW is pandering (pun intended) to kids, think again. Kids have more sense than this, and anyone over the age of 10 is going to think this is equelly lame. Most kids younger than that, who would actually like this idea, dont typically play mmorpgs. At least to my knowledge. I have an 8 year old son, and a 7 year old daughter, and neither one have really dived into mmos at all yet.
I could actually see people leaving WoW because of this. Just due to the cheese factor. I dont think that might have been the case if released a year or two ago, but with a Star Wars based mmorpg lurking right around the corner that shares a lot of WoW mechanics, I see an exodus. It might not be mass, but this sure wont help retain players. For those of you saying, " Not everyone likes Star Wars. ", thats actually true. Not everyone does. All 12 of them. They nit and make small sweaters for their grand kids and complain about all that darn noise the neighbors make, and their idea of a wild night is to mix the real coffee in with the decaff.
Seriously, this is a really cheesy move. WoW is a fantasy game. I dont see them adding walking talking Kung Fu pandas to D&D for instance, and if they did, I figure the players would pretty much ignore it and laugh pretty hard at even the idea.
It was Col. Blizzard with the Panda in the Thrown room..... Many of us have said it before, the only WoW killer would be Blizzard it's self. Now we have the evidence.
As for Titan, That is no problem, just control 5 Silo's and camp the roof with mines and RDX and it will go away too. Blizzard is melting and starting to fall into the sea. Mark the day the Panda's came marching in as the end.

The "hate" is coming from a general distaste for the consistant dumbing down and 'kiddification' that the game has been experiencing over the years.
Warcraft has always been serious lore with dark undertones, and a few jokes and pop culture references thrown in. Yes, Pandaren existed in Warcraft 3, but they existed merely as a joke. Even the addition of Pandaren into WoW was once considered a joke by Blizzard for an April Fools joke, because Pandaren were never meant to be considered serious lore. Which is why people are bothered, when what was lore that was serious, now spotlights on a joke race.
Aside from all of that, the game is being dumbed down even further. Even fewer talent choices -- why even have talent points at this rate? Then there's the Pokemon pet battle system... seriously? I can see how some people might find these things good, but I just see these things as pandering (hah) to people who don't care about any sense of depth to their gamplay.
Which is Blizzard's intent I suppose, because I get the feeling that the majority of people who do care about deep and serious story, character development, etc, will probably be moving on to SWTOR.

Blizzard 2007 and before I salute you. R.I.P.
P.S. Say hello to Steve Jobs for us.
2007 blizzard had already made Pandaren back in 2003...
AHHHHH
Why are so many of you guys acting this way?
Old school wow WAS NOT Dark high fantasy.
WoW is a SATIRE of High Fantasy.
If you are taking this game seriously and just now got the joke, sorry the joke was on you, laugh it off its ok.
The rest of us got the joke years ago, probably back in 2002 with WC3
pandas are a smart move, really. why? from the 10+ million subscribers blizzard claim to have around the world only 1 million are in NA & EU, the rest are located in china, korea and rest of asia. in asia pandas are the masses darling, a sanctuary, the holy grail. its just a marketing move. and for the people in the western part of the world whom find pandas as a race in a mmorpg ridiculous, well, your addiction to WoW should be deep enough to easily get along with it.
Westerners don't care about Pandas, except for PETA lovers. The only bears we care about are Grizzlies, Black, Brown, and Polar bears. Koalas and Pandas are not the North American continent thing. Shoulda launched an expansion with Pandas just for the Far East if that's the case (I'm half Chinese). The bamboo eaters are just too cutesy for most of our liking here especially in the U.S. When we think of bears we think of meat eating (with berries and fruits as appetizers) mammals that will maul the heck out of you if you are in their comfort zone.

Look we can already play skeletons, wolves, cows, owls and soon pandas. Seriously: can't wait for frogs!

Pandas are awesome anyway. Stop hating.
World of muppets online?
LOL OWNED too funny
Hey, Pandas are awesome. Don't knock the panda.
I don't know why Blizzard would tread on it's own territory with Titan.

Wouldn't be as bad as CCP's "Vampires in SPAAAAAAAAAACE!"... ^^ Besides, the Panda's win the cute contest, hands down. ^^
I'm not really worried about it.

I'm just waiting for Bioware to counter this bold Blizzard move by announcing the first SWTOR expansion will be Pigs in Space.

World of Facebook, aka Titan, is going to make Pandarens look like a classy move
All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.
I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.
I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.
I don't hate much, but I hate Apple© with a passion. If Steve Jobs was alive, I would punch him in the face.

And all of that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the '+' operator the person you quoted uses.
