I once told my brother call of duty was going to become something special when the first COD game had been out for awhile. If I only would have known just how much, I could have made fan sites maybee and made some cash.
I also nocticed that there was nearly 2.2 million pre orders for the game on vgchartz for xbox. Cant wait to see the reviews etc.. Whos buying it and are you looking forward to it and why?
I had never played any COD game till I got Black Ops and I loved it right away. The fast actioned paced online combat was fun. It was almost like Id been playing it all along since its first game. In my first match It was so easy to pick up and start playing.

I gave up on the COD series long ago, they have become way to scripted and linear for my taste.
yea scriped and linear or not, it makes the internet worth having for many people. Kudos to treyarch and infinityward. Wether or not COD is liked by everyone it makes online gaming a better place with its rich multiplayer combat.
no doubt it's the most successful, but when you're talking about "rich multiplayer combat" you made me snicker. I enjoy CoD, but once I tried battlefield...it was no contest. Battlefield 3 is the best fps of all time. Please do yourself a favor, and try it.
Not to be rude, however Call of Duty was destroyed after CoD4 with CoD6. They tried to go a "consolized" route and destroyed it completely for the PC, and the release for consoles was massively sub-par compared to CoD4.
Overall, CoD has roughly 1.6 million pre-orders LESS than BF3 did prior to release. Unfortunately MW3 will die out in about a month post-release, but BF3 will live on
! Battlefield 3 has already been named the "Best FPS to be released in 5 years"

All about the money with the CoD series now. Every Nov they put out a new one with different skins. I gave up on this franchise. They could at least take thier time and put out something even better.
This isnt a drag race. I love BF3 as much as anyone one else and think its amazing. It hasnt scored in the 90s overall though on gamerankings.com and thats the site they average all the online review sites togather. Like I said weather you like it or not, it makes the gaming industry better with its rich multiplayer. you dont have to buy all there games, pick one you like and stick with it for awhile till something else grabs your attension. Not every game has to be a game of the year in the COD series.
Keyword is that CoD was successful, CoD4 was awesome. Then I think the profit of that got to their heads. The next games released where very glitchy, seemed rushed, and had terrible multiplayer gameplay (mostly on PC) Though It appeals to the masses cause it is very intuitive. My girlfriend who does not understand FPS's at all likes CoD because it is simple ("no I'm not saying it's bad cause it's a girls game - to easy lololol" because If I'm honest I suck and get whomped on my ladies all the time lol.) all you have to do is pull left trigger, aim down scope, shoot and kill. Because of this quick scope - "auto aim" feature this game makes bad players decent and want to buy the game. Simple as that, if your good at the game you'll want it, I truely think that is why people flock to this title.
Also because most console players aren't "super nerds" they most likely won't try out many other shooters or read reviews on other games and just stick to this title.
Just my two cents, but in all seriousness, this is unfortunatly the best selling franchise of any game I believe, which dethrowned my favorite - Halo =[ (START SUPPORTING PC ALREADY).
The single player brings down its ratings. You're talking about the online parts of the game.
For me CoD MW series is worth the money just for the single player campaign alone. I'm not really into it's multiplayer part. MW2 is my fav installment, so i'm quite excited to see it's sequel story.
Well I dont understand your opinion. Black ops was like the most sucessfull online game ever for any game ever, with xbox leading the charge. To say its buggy just dosnt seem right, so many millions of people love it.

As you say if a game is buggy ppl will just not play it. Look at Earthrise and FFXIV, ppl hate those games and they did shit'.
My pc game was even buggy, it took them awhile like a few patches but they fixed it after so long so I know what im talking about when it comes to bugs and COD series or with Black Ops anyway. The game would crash sometimes, and freeze. The only thing I could do would be to alt+tab+del out of the game and restart it. It happened maybee like 20 times or so, but after so many patches they fixed it and all was good.
Hat Fortress 2 will always be more fun!
i was not a pro at cod black opp's but i was ok but then it happen i got BF2 for pc and loved mouse and keybord controls on it but sad to say now i suck at black opp's stuped mouse and keybord lol.
modern warefar multiplayer was amazing fun when it came out. Partially because of timing, but mainly because everything felt so tight in the game, fast paced, and new. But every cod game since then is basically the same game + a clusterf*ck of killstreaks (which is horrible).
mw3 will be sucessful regardless if it's a good game, because like every cod game since cod4, it's riding the coatails of cod4.
Yeah I kinda messed up putting this in words I didn't mean that it WAS successful really, that was just my emotion to the serious, I used to like it. It is immensly successful still. However with the bugs not to sure on black ops I was already burnt out of the series + the maps IMO sucked, but MW2 was littered with I said bugs but meant glitches. Like floating on high rise, or going under maps etc. no fixes that I know of.... ie The game is very easy to abuse. Also the lack of dedicated servers on a game so popular was a terrible idea which lead to a boycott on the PC copy.
CoD is a terrible game. COD4 was kinda good but it seems like all infinityward and Treyarch (sp?) want is cash. between the two its the exact same game released every year with some new skins (with Treyarchs versions of the series being much worse) and the exact same gameplay. Not only that, but their graphics engine barely changes at all. I've seen nothing new from MW2 or CoD BO that tells me that its any better than COD4 at all.
It doesnt even matter if your a fan of BF3 or not, the COD series is simply not worth the money to buy the game. Just like Halo2+, same shit, different title.
Am I the only one who has always felt COD4 MP was a blatant rip-off of BF2's progression system? WIthout the things that made BF2 shine.. Large maps, tanks, apcs, Jets, Helicopters, etc..

Yes. I found BF2 to be much more fun than COD4, but when the masses have decided, they dont care about anything else.
BF2 had teamwork, goals, and more than just spray and pray. Its awesome.
Over the years call of duty has just gone down the tubes, im sorry but in terms of MULTIPLAYER, the battlefield franchise is spanking cod 6 ways to sunday...
Infinity Ward isn't Infinity Ward. The vast magority of the people that were activision have since quit or been fired, and activision has completely restructured the studio. It's only Infinity Ward in name now.
CoD 3, World at War, and Black Ops weren't very good. All Treyarch. Don't know anything about the single player aspect, I only played them online, and the control was just not as tight as all the ones made by Infinity Ward.
CoD 1 and 2, as well as both MW games were really good. At least online was for both MW games, I never played the campaign. The first two CoD games had an incredible single player campaign, and ok online play.
I'm not really expecting MW3 to be that great. The people that made all the good CoD games are working for EA and suing Activision.
It doesn't make sense to me that people like to compare CoD and the BF series. They aren't the same kind of game. BF wasn't about story, it was all online; the originals didn't even have a single player option. CoD was always about the story; the single player part was the most important aspect of the game. I remember playing through the original CoD with my jaw on the floor through most of it, but when I wanted to go online and shoot people I would load up BF1942? or Day of Defeat. I played the original CoD online some, but it wasn't as good as other shooters designed specifically for online play.
People should be buying the new MW game for the story; it's the final chapter in a trilogy.
Even now, online play isn't the same with between either game; it's funny that the BF series has actually been trying to build a bigger single player experience, and the CoD series has shifted heavily towards the online play.
I'm curious to see what Respawn, basically everyone that was Infinity Ward, and EA come up with. That is if Activision doesn't get their way and are able to kill them in court.
I have and will probably still buy all the CoD games. But it has grown tired. BF3 is such a better game than any that has been before it. Not denying any of its faults, but the run and gun has been played to death. Hacks auto aim etc etc is the reason you can pick up CoD and go. CoD is a great series of games there is no doubt about it, but they are money grabbers and its becoming more and more apparent. Elite, refurbished maps for map packs, same game engine for all of their games, etc etc. The way you win me over CoD , is to make every map I have ever bought , be it from CoD4 to MWF3, available to play in my map rotation. We all know its from the same game engine and same coding so why deny us? You throw in that kind of variety and it will net you so much clout with gamers across platforms. What do I know though, I am not some nerd who works for you guys and has the same ideas over and over and over an...

i will buy it but not right after release... i liked and enjoyed black ops although crazy fast paced shooters with small maps sux a little bit for my taste (battlefield maps ftw)... Im sure MW3 is gonna be way better than MW2 (i didnt even buy mw2, played a friends disk and couldnt finish it because it was really bad. I dont like mw2 at all)... ill get MW3 when the price drops a bit or they make a special deal somewhere for xbox 360...

I played the original in Gamestop when it was on the original xbox I believe...might have been CoD 2, not sure. I thought it was pretty sweet...never knew it would destroy medal of honor though...since that game was the shit back then. Later on I played MW and a few others, but now they all feel the same to me and I just cannot for the life of me get into them, so I am NOT planning on buying this one. I'm having plenty enough fun with Gears 3 and will have more then enough with Skyrim. I honestly do not have enough time in my life to play every game, so I'm just going for the ones I think are worth my time the most.
