well, was unimpressed with the video personally, but.. that was mostly because he picked a boring class type.. not sure why but his narrative at times was more than a little cringeworthy, it sounded a bit 'forced' maybe his heart really wasnt in it?

Move your fingers a few inches and hit "S" and "Space" Not that hard. Don't expect Bioware to make you do all the stunts, thats your job.

Yes because moving around actually does what again? Hits and misses are decided by dice rolls. The only thing they added to the formula is summonable cover that gives you an advantage in the hit/miss roll. Staying out of melee range is the only reason to move around.

    Agreed

Ripper's voice sounds like Zaphod Beeblebrox in the old BBC TV version.

Or in other words, a non-American person trying to do a sterotypical American accent and just managing to sound goofy.

This was one of three games in the running for me and a local group that I'm helping put together (the other two were Secret World and Guild Wars 2) and I'm glad we went with Guild Wars 2 (and I am DEFINITELY not a fantasy genre kind of guy).

I admit, Ripper's voice is a little strange. Kind of wannabe game show host-ish. But I ignore that normally and just look at the gameplay. I can say with all sincerity, there's not much here that's making me go, "Ooo!" and "Ahhh!" I actually got more out of watching the videos at the website so nothing too new here.

I won't be playing the game because I'm not into Star Wars all like that and I was young when it came out. Plus the P2P business model is played out for me. I don't want multiple subscriptions to "Ehh" games and the game is looking "Ehh"  to me.

That being said, there are some good things about it. Love the companions. Vehicles are cool. The RP interaction with NPCs and PC groups is interesting.  Cut scenes are off the chizzain. If it was F2P, I would give it a try...but I probably would never pay for it.

Same, the voice really grates. But he does tend to bring some good insight so still worth watching.

Unlike a few other people here, I'm not going to apologize for my opinion in thinking this game looks really boring and rehashed.  I'll still reserve final judgement until I play it - that is, if something more impressive hasn't come along by the time this game goes on sale.  I'm not paying full price for what I just watched, not in my financial situation.

I played the game this weekend and enjoyed myself immensely.  The turning point for me was when I got access to my skill tree, crafting ablities, and spaceship.  At that point it was a blast.  The game certainly isn't perfect.  Just like any other game, it has its flaws.  I imagine it's just a matter of taste and expectations when it comes to this game.  I'll be playing.  I'll also be expecting improvement as the game develops.  When I get bored with it, I'll stop and move on.  Simple.

Gaming is a hobby of mine, not an obsession.  And I suspect there will never be a game that meets all of my personal prefrences. So, warts and all, I'm going to make the best of it.  Just the fact that there is going to be such a large community I have access to makes it appealing.  Hopefully it's a friendly community.  That is a big priority for me.  If I start running into a jaded and unhelpful player base, I'll be gone.

Basing your opinion on videos like RipperX's would be a mistake for sure. Had I not actually played in beta, based on most of the videos, I would consider the game 'WoW in Space'.
