I lost a lot of excitement for this game when their Secret War fizzled out.  Either that or it was too secret and I missed it.

Still, I hope its good.  I believe it when I see it.

Because FUncom has never done anything to warrant that hate?  We should all just jump blindly onto their newest project despite their previous actions?  Despite all the lies?  Despite all the unfinished games and expansions that released with empty zones and key features missing?  Despite the endless delays and broken promises?  I'm just not that naive.

Will it be different this time?  Will they actually provide what they say?  You can hope so.  But, you can't expect it based on their track record.

TSW What is this? Ah who cares with SW:tor, Diablo 3, Skyrim, GW2 all out or coming soon got no time.

Remember the first 6 months of Ao the game was so bug ridden as to be basically unplayable. One of the worst launches in gaming history.

Even if buggy, my memories of AoC are so fond that I will not miss this one when it comes out.

I still think there biggest problem come launch will be that the game crashes when you atl tab out. That will ruin those search on the internet quests which also sound like a horrible idea to me i was excited for this game till they started talking about those types of quests.

by the time the game comes out it will be out dated... and everyone will know every single detail about it.... making it last for about 6 months before starting its major decline.

If you want a taste of The Secret World, just play Age of Conan, it's the same engine, same graphics and the system.  This is reported even in the age of conan forums that both games are very similar with minor differences.

First AoC didn't have a bad release. The game client was stable if you followed the suggested requirements. There were graphic acards issues yes and they eventually got resolved This happens in every launch. Never seen a launch that didn't. Second Anarchy Online (AO) had a bad release....but

OMG did anyone remember Blizzards 2 weeks of LAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

in the starter areas. You couldn't loot a mob you just took 10 mintues to kill because of the Loot lag on all servers at release...NO. Oh what about the Falling through the world only to lose a level 60 Character....Permanently? yes this happened in WOW the Holy grail of all MMORPGS. But no one talks about that .

I do however. And because of that  2 weeks of BS I went and played EQ2 for the next 2 weeks while Blizzard ignored the issue and was not up front to the gaming community about the problem. Oh and Yes I lost a level 60 Character to the falling earth bug.

I am tired of gamers taking umbrage with Funcom for 1 bad launch 10 Years ago. Give it a break. Sure be skeptical. Thats cool but at least wait and see.

Since its launch AO has gone on to meet player expectations and has improved considerably. It has had numerous expansions and has a loyal fan base that takes its community seriously and its lore seriously. Frankly its one of the best SCI based MMORPG's games from its era thats still around, which speaks for itself.

Sounds more like you want a WOW...where you don't have to think, or get involved in the game lore. Thats a valid play style and perhaps TSW won't be for you because of that. It doesn't mean that there aren't players in the community that do not want this. Frankly I am excited about the depth with which the developers are placing on the Lore of the game. I am excited about having to read every quest for clues to advance myself. It is a mix of MMORPG with RPG story line that demands the player pay attention.

Otehrwise its gonna be level to 60 again and and do end game content grind BS. And whats the point of another Rift?

Incorrect.  AoC's launch fail was well documented.

Also, seems you forgot a few moments in AO.  Tower wars lagging to death and crashing that would end in loops of zone crowd control(You are entering an overcrowded area. You will be moved back) until you gave up.  How about the 180 of design goals of SL, endless "banding", and how it launched with Pande completely empty/incomplete.  How about players shops on the box for AI and it wasn't in game for months later.  How long did they have disapearing and floating AI cities?  How about that new game engine?  How about that re-balance?  I could go on and on.  Even down to little things like how Daniel Sato(FC_Karma) dealt with customers over the extruder bars and Trader profession.

Lastly, I don't like Blizzard for what they've done to WoW either.  But, you can't use their mistakes to say that FUncom's mistakes are ok.

I place AoC's launch right behind Hellgate: London on the "worst launches ever" list.  And the subs crashed hard after 30 days, one of the steepest account base dropoffs anyone's ever seen in an MMO.

Calling that a good launch would be...disingenuous.

Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.

I edited my post to make sure it was clear on what I meant.  I was very much disaggreeing with them.

Funcom is a dishonest company.  They hyped the hell out of AOC but didn't deliver. Later...much later, the game was improved and actually was not bad.  But that took awhile and Funcom is almost as bad as SOE with the lying.
