if i answer this one for you would you make me decide more things for yourself? ;(
How many servers SWTOR will launch with on release?
ShredderSE - Umm how many do they need? Maybe 6.
US, EU, Asian, France, German and Russian.
Subs will be so low there is no need for more
Snoocky-How many servers?
The first 3 months a lot...after that 2 i guess, one for PVE and 1 for PVP...
Thorbrand - SWTOR doesn't have longevity at all. Might be one of the shortest lived MMOs.
I promise I won't develop a dependency.
Just judging by the poll you should buy waffles instead.
From your scores you seem to prefure open world PvP typed games. Rift scored very low and SWtoR is in the same model as Rift.
Going on your score's alone I would not recomend this game to you.
(FYI I pre-ordered but I kinda like themeparks as well as sandbox - you however dont seem to like them at all )
I wouldn't say I lean either way. I just like games that are good. Darkfall is a sandbox but I for some reason can't get into it. On the other hand, Shadowbane was a sandbox that totally defined a period of my life.
Guild Wars is fairly themepark in my opinion and I had a lot of fun with that, too.
Voted no. The risk is too high that you get a place in login queue in front off me.
If you can't decide for yourself based on the plethora of information available on the game, then the answer is no.
RIFT and SWTOR, same game just one is in space and the other is high fantasy. Seeing how rift scored so low for you chance are very high SWTOR will score the same.
Waiting for:EQ-Next, ArcheAge (not so much anymore)
Now Playing: N/A
Worst MMO: FFXIV
Favorite MMO: FFXI
Dude...you know you buy them all even if they're junk. We know you're going to buy it no matter what.
PS... nice to see another old AC MMOer here. Those early days...camping chests with 30 minute respawn timers using the honor system to see who got to opem it and getting super-uber loot with weird random stats...ah those were the days

Too the original poster: Do you still live at home with your parents? Are you unable to do anything for yourself?
I don't care what you do.
"Don't corpse-camp that idea. Its never gonna rez"
Bladezz (The Guild)
lol, i agree with the OP rating of games but i would not place rift and swtor in the same context. they may act the same but the experiance is completly diferent.
Based on your ratings of previous titles.. No.
I do however support the campaign for Waffles, tasty waffles.
Hey TSW Players http://www.unfair.co/ for Mission guides, Lore Locations and stuff....
I would say that you have to test the game before buying it.
EVE Online 21Days Trial
Yus. Strong PVP preference, apparently dislikes themeparks.
Enjoy your delicious waffles, and buy a copy of Dominus when it releases.
Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
Judging by your ratings of the games you have played, I would have to say no, but you already knew that, didn't you?
BTW: Pancakes>Waffles...
Based on your mmorpg history, 60 bucks plus 15 a month = a decent amount of waffles.
Oh dear me, gave rift a 2/10 . . this game is simillar in nature as Rift but without rifts and in STar Wars format.
Rift was an amazing experience I dont know how you couldnt have enjoyed that game. maybe it was all the bitchersgot to you ?
rift was vvery good

Except not the same game, as TOR actually has some lore behind it, is launching with more stuff, and is just a deeper, more enjoyable game.
Anyway, back to the OP, your game preferences are kind of all over the place. You actually liked Guild Wars, which I thought was a terrible game, but still a themepark style game and one that is more of a single player experience. So you may like TOR due to the storyline and it being solo-friendly. But you also gave very low scores for Aion and Rift, which are both themepark games as well, although I personally think TOR is much better than both. Seems like you also lean heavily in the PvP area. And TOR has a lot more variety to its PvP than games like Rift, but not as enjoyable as DAoC was.
So I voted Waffles, because who doesn't like waffles?
I get the feeling alot of people are poping into the thread and just hitting *yes* without actually reading the games lists / scores you put up.
Call 'em fanboi's if you want. I stand by my *no* based on the info you've presented us with.
This. I'm going with the waffle folks here. You could even upgrade your syrup with the savings from a game that likely won't fit your profile.
I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil
Pure Vermont maple syrup = win. In fact, this thread has made me reconsider whether to even buy TOR considering all the delicious waffles I could be eating.
i voted No but i say yes! ..meh
do not buy ea products!
looking at your chart..it looks like the only theampark type mmo you liked / played is rift and you gave it a 2/10 the other games you listed has good / great / epic pvp...this will not be a good nor great pvp game nor even a good mmo imo..the char. creation is utterly awful ***every race looks the same with same build with just diff colored skins with random spikes on thier heads or tentacles*** no real choice of playing a "alien" type race or char.... and most will say that this is not but your just kidding yourself if you dont think this isnt an everyday run of the mill cookie cutter mmo wow like theampark
will this game be hawt? yes for about 6 months then everyone will be maxed out lvling and crave for the RAID RAID RAID / GEAR GEAR GEAR runs and wanting / demanding new xpacs that will remind you of umm..wow like features
many will say..its about the story! gah! the story telling!
if i like many wanted to play for the storys / crazy long cut scenes id play a 1player game or read a book...dont be surprised to find out before too long they will plop in a "press to skip here" button for the everyday grinder that wants to max out their theampark accounts..storys are all good but when its forced upon you it really takes away from what YOU want to do in a MMORPG ..sometimes the dramatic cut scene at the begining of a mmo is more than enuff to set the table for story telling in mmo's...and ummm reading text goes along way also when all else fails...but at this day and age of mmorpgs most people want to pop in a game and everything be RIGHT there instant gradifacation..let the game run "it will do it itself"
enuff on my flame but if you rly want to find out how bad / good it is ..try it for yur self..but judgeing on the games you had listed...i dont think you will be satisfied with this title
i like how you listed shadowbane 9/10 play to crush my friend! PLAY TO CRUSH!
+9000 for shadowbane
I voted "Yes", but I really was tempted to put the waffles option. But honestly the games combat mechanics are very similar to that of WoW/Rift, nothing new in that field. I only voted yes because you gave Guildwars an 8, and more often than not when I hear people rave about guild wars it's the epic storyline they talk about--ToR appears to have a great storyline (granted I only played beta for like 10ish hours; didn't want to spoil anything past that). Honestly I would just use better judgement, read about the game if you didn't get a chance at beta--watch videos. See what you think.
