Every server I have looked at is off balance. There is either 2 billion Jedi and 200 Sith, or 2 billion Sith and 200 Jedi. Why, Bioware, why??? It's not hard to count numbers and make servers even!!!

This is an inevitable problem with literally every 2-faction MMO. I doubt Bioware is going to have any better luck fixing it then Blizzard, Mythic, or any other MMO developer who's tried and failed.
lol ya I am not sure why so many of them seem imbalance, dont think it be hard to make it 50/50 unless of course theres that many more people playing one side over the other.
Well, if in every server the empire population outnumbers the republic, then it would be impossible to balance it without filling some servers with only empire players so that other servers can be balanced.
The short answer is no.
This^^
NC tried with Aion by locking out one faction in order for the other faction to catch up, but it failed in the end.

The Empire alway outnumbered the Republic in the movies and it did not matter in the end, so cheer up guys the force is on your side

i dont see the imbalance. my guilds server is pretty evenly split between republic and empire...

Everything I say is my opinion or personal preference. You may or may not find it useful to your cause but regardless I am entitled to it.
Aye, it's nigh unto impossible to make folks choose a faction they may not have intended on playing and it's even more difficult if you have to convince a guild to do it. The only hope they have to balance things out is to offer insane rewards for rolling the underplayed faction. The issue there is always not giving an unfair advantage to 1 side. I've said before and who knows since this is a PvE focused game but I would love to see them down the road, maybe far down the road, add in Mandalorian as a 3rd faction.
Do we know actual server pops or just guild pops? Do we know how big each guild is?
I sit on a man's back, choking him and making him carry me, and yet assure myself and others that I am very sorry for him and wish to ease his lot by all possible means - except by getting off his back.
Also I noticed on pvp servers there are more empires and on PvE servers there are more alliance. But really when you created guild if youo preferred PvP then bioware most likely put you on a pvp server. My server juyo seems to have more alliance than empire but numbers don't seem as unbalanced as some of the pvp servers.
Currently Playing: SSFIV AE, SFxTekken, SWTOR, WoW. Waiting for: GW2, Resident Evil 6.
Not really, you can see which guilds got put on what server and then gauge the server pops based on how many folks the guild had invited before deployment. That said, some of those guilds may grow/shrink depending on if people didn't get their invite in before lockout, or folks cancelled their pre-orders. Not sure if that's making much sense.
edit for fail spelling

How is it a failure on their part? Bioware has no control over what side people will choose. Everything else being equal, it's no surprise empire outnumbers republic seeing as all the cool kids want to be evil.
So basically this is an overreaction based on speculation. I'm sure there will be server imbalances. Its inevitable. But declaring total failure pre launch based on partial info at best....

where exactly can you see server information?
Does server balance even matter when you're gonna spend the overwhelming majority of your gameplay inside an instance? Outlaws Den and Illum will wind up seeing about as much action as Gurubashi arena and Halaa do in WoW right now.

Not sure if you quoted my post and then directed your comment toward mine or not Danny. I agree with you actually, a lot of the information is speculative at this point because things are going to change, and I think change in a big way when the game actually launches. I don't think I would call it 'total fail' at this point because Bioware can't know how things will shake out. Anyway, if that wasn't directed at me then I'm misspeaking. lol
Still spreading misinformation, I see. Keep fighting the good fight.

No it wasn't directed at you, Airwen. Sorry I wasn't clear on that hehe. It was directed at the original post in this thread. I'm in agreement with you as well.

To give exact numbers now that I have them, my server has:
Republic: 484
Empire: 2224
Really?

Many guilds (On the EU side anyway) Are not even rolling on the assigned server due to language issues and imbalance issues. So we will balance out on our own.. My guild got placed on the same server as RusCorp and about 8 other Russian guilds.. That just aint gona work LOL So we are moving
How do you know each guild has equal pop? What if the Republic guilds average 4x larger than Empire guilds? The answer is that you do not know either way. So chill.

Thats players, not guilds. 134 guilds on my server and 2708 players total. The website could be hiding some Republic guilds or my Excel skills suck. However I am seeing complaints on multiple guild forums about how screwed up deployment is.
Deployment is not set in stone, you can play any server you wish, but its a simple numbers game. Why couldn't Bioware do it right?
