So how fast did you really level so far?

I am curious what people's leveling speed is and what you think about it. In my opinion its right in the middle; not too fast yet not too tedious.

Here's me:

character level: 40 ( + two meaningless level 2 alts)

/played: 95 hours (3 days, 23 hours, 11 minutes)

average time per level: 2.37 hours

activities:

pvp valor rank: 18; average of thee matches a day, mostly losses (republic kicks our ass on my server)

space missions: only around 10 done, did not get much xp from this

flash point activity: only around 4 completed

heroic quests: maybe did a third of those I encountered.

crewskills: arms-tech 364, scavenging 315, investigation 235

playing style: pretty intensive / progress driven but not a complete rusher. Doing most of the side quests. Went out exploring and world pvp'ing for a few hours as well.

Been playing since the day before release (previous Monday).I have an Assasin at 18 and a Mercenary at 16. I work weird hours so my play time fluctuates. But im in no rush. I mostly do all the quests I can and have recently got into the crafting aspect. Loving it :)

    Currently Playing: World of Warcraft

Haven't played much, just have every class in their 20s now and one in the mid 30s, takes about half a day to do one. Not going to carry on playing the game though, I quit a few days ago.

    character level: 25 ( + 1 meaningless level 5 alt)
    /played: 51 hours (2 days, 3 hours, 15 minutes)
average time per level: 2.05 hours

    activities:
    space missions: only 1 done
flash point activity: only 1 completed 3 times (Black Talon)
    heroic quests: 2
crewskills: still low - usually forgetting to start them while questing
playing style: playing most times a group of 2 (BH + Agent) making all our quests there leaving the heroics often out.

Usually playing sessoions of around 2 hours.

    Played since Friday 16th...

    Level 19 Sith Sorcerer - played (42.5 Hours) 1 day 18 hours 30 mins

    Synthweaving 80 - Underworld trading 45 - Investigation 38

1 flashpoint completed - Black Talon

1 Huttball game done - with daily quest  - 16k xp for 15 miutes of play image

So for me its normal weekly play time I usually play about 20 hours per week but if I'd done more Flashpoints and especially PvP I'd be way ahead of level 19. PvP and FP XP is ludicrous at the moment and why players a zooming through the levels IMO.

Are you in a parallel universe where having 8 classes to level 20 and one in the 30's is "haven't played much" my 20 hours a week must super ultra casual and half a day is 12 hours last time I looked. So you've played 8x12 = 96 + say another 12 for the level 30 toon, so you played approx 108 in two weeks 54 hours a week or nearly 8 hours a day and thats not playing much? I'm gobsmacked.

Still cruising around in the late 20's.  Alderaan and Tat, your basic leveling stuff.

Hey, I'm an old guy, can't do those "sit in a chair for 36 hours" marathons any more.  I probably only average a couple of hours a day.

Just hit level 43 on my Fem-Shepard. (Trooper Vanguard).

Just trying to get the class quests done cause dammit, I need to know what happens NEXT!

About 100 hours played so around 2.2ish hours per level.

PVP/Space combat to supplement my lack of grinding.

A lot of the quests (even class ones) have you fight mobs on your way to the objective. I've done my best to be the 'sneaky' trooper and minimize that. Issue is that you are a bit under-leveled if you do and since I didn't do much side quests, yeah.

PVP is more than enough to compensate for that though.

400 slicing (never not slice), 50 Treasure Hunting and 1 Armortech.

I have a level 20, and a few alts between 10 and 12.  One of my favorite things about this game is the fact that I don't feel rushed to level up, I'm really enjoying being part of story after story.

Interesting numbers here now that I look at it.

    Smuggler - Scoundrel

    151 Hours played (and 40 minutes)  - Level 48

    Valor Rank 21

    Social Rank 3

    Cybertech: 400

    Slicing: 400

    Treasure Hunting: 400

Played mostly PvE and group missions as I played a healer and was in pretty high demand.  Played through almost the entire game with 1 other person.  PvP pretty modestly.  Did most space missions.

    Trooper - Commando

    42 Hours played (1 minute) - Level 24

    Valor Rank 24

    Social Rank 1

    Armstech - 140

    Scavenging - 163

    Investigations - 94

I played mostly PvP.. and its unfortunate valor rank caps at your level in the early game.   I have skipped all PvE group content save for 1 heroic and anything prior to level 10.  After level 10 I have completed only my class quests.  I have skipped all of the content on Coruscant, Taris and Nar Shaddaa.   I am currently on Tatooine running my class quests with about 2 PvP matches away from level 25.

    Jedi - Sentinel

    15 Hours played - level 15

    Valor rank 8

    Social  Rank 1

All crew skills in the mid 50s low 60s.

I created this character the first day I logged in and haven't played him since.  He was my filler character until others were let into early access.

I'm level 29 on my main toon and I feel like I've been playing a lot.  To be honest, I had to look up what level I was since I haven't been watching my xp bar at all.

not to change the subject, but your xfire sig says you haven't played any game this week.  I'm wondering if it's not tracking SWTOR correctly

I no longer use Xfire.  I keep the sig because I can pull my posts out of a lineup easier, and I'm too lazy to make my own sig.

I would definitely boost those xfire numbers with how much I've been playing though,  but I just have no use for it anymore.

You sound like someone who basically skipped every single cut scene and ran around like mad trying to level as quickly as possible. No wonder you don't want to play anymore, you completely missed the point of the game.

I've been playing steadily at maybe 3 hours a day since 15th Dec and have three characters at 16/17/18 and another at 10th. I'm not a slow player but I have watched 100% of the story cutscenes and maybe 80% of the others. Having a great time, really immersive.

I super levelled to 50 in Rift three times over and ruined the game for myself. Not doing it this time.

To be honest, who cares how long it takes to level and how many hours anyone plays? I don't use xfire btw.

I have 6 characters at different points in their starting areas, 1 character on Coruscant at level 12-ish, and one at 32nd level.  Crew skills are a little ahead on the main, around 300 or so.  I'd bet I have some 80-ish hours into the game.

It seems to me that advancement is a little faster than most games, but I think one of the main reasons it seems that way is that there are so many instances of there being "more than one way to skin a cat".  Space yields significant XP, as does PvP... I could be wrong but I think mission based crew skills do, too.  Not to mention Bonus Series missions.  Whenever I fall behind where I should be in level, there are tons of ways to get caught up.

And the same goes for crafting.  If you're low on materials, and behind your character in craftable items for your level, you can send your crew out to get what you need, as opposed to having to go out to underlevel areas hunting for nodes.  For me, this saves alot of time and thus, I level a good bit faster.

I understand the advantages of the system, but I hate having to stop during a quest and micromanage the crew members.  Hate popups while you're in the middle of combat, etc.  "Not now Wookie, daddy's busy and I don't care that you brought home another metal".

On the other hand, nights when I'm feeling pretty lazy, can just sit in the ship and watch TV while your crew's doing something productive.

    Edited:

    /played 1 day, 0 hours, 28 min

Took a couple of days and ran a trooper to 11. Didn't like him so I started over.

Current Main: Commando Trooper combat medic

    Level 19

    Armortech: 110

    Salvaging: 139

    Underworld trading: 79

Was originally doing Armstech and investigation(?), didn't like it so I went to Armortech.

Ran space missions enough that I gained 2+ levels doing it. Probably close to a dozen times in each of the ones available to me.

Ran the Esseles once so my social is probably not real high.

I did all of the heroics on Ord, but none on Corusant yet. Going to try to hit them up tonight.

Alt: Sith Inquisitor Assasin (mother of my Trooper)

    Level 11

Just got my crafting so I haven't worked it up yet.

Just hit level 18 on Taris...

Started playing on Dec 23, so basically a week to hit 18.  Leveling seems appropriate... I'm not ahead of my zone or way behind it.  I haven't done any Flashpoints or Heroics or PVP.  Just purely the questlines that don't require groups atm.

In Rift I was level 50 inside of 3 weeks doing what I am doing in TOR.  In WoW, you'd be level 20 inside of 2 days max.  Sure you can force the game to powerlevel you, but then I paid for 30 days of engaged playtime, not 2 weeks of rush rush rush to end game.  Some people like to waste their money, I on the other hand try to get the most out of it.

  • LidaneLidane Member CommonPosts: 2,300

Created my main character on the first day of Early Access, so she's been around since the 13th.

    Smuggler/Scoundrel -- Level 28

    Time played: 71 hours

Social Rank: 3, since I've been grouped from the start

Light Side rank: 2 (nearing 3 -- I've only got another 150 LS points to go)

    Armstech: 120

    Scavenging: 177

    Investigation: 110

I've played the entire game with one other person in a duo. We've done every Heroic mission available to us so far, and the Hammer Station and Esseles flashpoints, which we did on our own. Completed every quest on Ord Mantell, Coruscant, Taris (yes, even the bonus series!), and Nar Shadda, and now we're on Tattooine. I've watched every story cutscene so far for both my Smuggler and my partner's Trooper.

I haven't done any PvP because my new desktop PC hasn't been delivered yet and I'm playing the game on a crappy laptop.  Trying to PvP now would be a death sentence. Same goes for space combat, though I played some of it in beta.

In general, we are questing and playing our way through the story. I need to work on my crafting more, but so far, I'm just enjoying the game.

  • findaratofindarato Member Posts: 74

Took me about 5 days to get to 50 and I have all my crew skills maxed.

Most of them happened after I hit 50 though, but only by like 100 points for underworld.

character level: 31 Jedi Consular Sage (also have 11 Trooper Vanguard and some random <10's)

/played: just over 3 days total play time between all toons

    average time per level: N/A

    activities:

pvp valor rank:  4, only done about 4-5 warfronts, also have done some open world PvP on Tatooine.

space missions: Have done probably a dozen, get good XP for the dailies for the higher level (upgrade 1-3) ones.

flash point activity: I've done the first... 4? Esselles, Hammer, Athiss, Mandalorians

heroic quests: Done all the tython, coruscant, nar shaddaa, skipped Taris heroics, done a couple Tatooine ones

crewskills: biochem about 230, bioanalysis about 230, diplomacy about 150

playing style: pretty intensive / progress driven but not a complete rusher. Doing most of the side quests. Went out exploring and world pvp'ing for a few hours as well.

Doing some space missions and PvP for fun and aid leveling, try to do all the heroics and flashpoints as they become available, have done all the side quests on every planet I have thus far found except tatooine, still working on those before I move on to Aldreaan.

I hate that, too, but oddly enough it doesn't happen all the time.  It's like they intend it to go to the pending queue, but sometimes it doesn't.  Somehow it always seems to happen at the worst possible time...

character level: 25 Trooper Vanguard (shield)

/played: no clue on total, not at home to look (started after regular launch day)

    average time per level: N/A

    activities:

pvp valor rank:  25 Valor Rank (just finished my merc commendation stack - all gravy from here)

space missions: none yet, have one or two just haven't done yet.

flash point activity: I've done the first 4 - several times each -  Esselles, Hammer, Athiss, Mandalorians

heroic quests: done every heroic I get, several multiple times to get the orange rewards for my companions so we look the same (uniforms)

crewskills: biochem about 200, bioanalysis about 210, diplomacy about 250

playing style: pretty layed back, spending time to do every mission I can find going up, even if its green. Some I turn in at grey to get companion favor and/or light/dark. I like to see it all, never in a rush. Mostly enjoy the PvP, but it really isnt my main focus, living the character is. However long that takes me to get to where ever I'm headed, well thats fine with me.

Also have a 17 Jedi Guardian, use her for slicing and Glactic market resource buying and selling / my money and sell junk mule basically.

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot, going back and finding all the Datacrons and Matrix Shards now, so anticipate a slow down in leveling while I jump around in hard to reach places for a while.
