men i sure hope pro pvper go to ilum and CRUSH this cause i havent paid 60 $ for a farce obscene like this!
i am rarelly pissed off but this is so bad!we fight for years to get world pvp we finally get it and what happen dum ass stay there like statue etc.sadly not sure they can do something about it,maybe change each group of channel to make sure this doesnt happen .dont know if they have channel within server but i hope bio fix this fast cause this WILL cripple swtor!

Theres not much else they can do... if people are just going to let each faction farm eachother then it doesn't matter what they put in place, they'll just coordinate with the other faction. Players are whats killing the open world PvP.
Duh... why do you think WoW made it so that factions can't understand each other? It wasn't to curb trash talking... that will still happen via emotes and forums. It was to avoid crap like this...
"Don't mistake a fun game for a good game... Checkers is fun to play but its not exactly the highest point of gaming design... and definatly not worth $60 plus $15 a month"
Players will always find loopholes in systems, and they have zero reason to think there is anything wrong with it if the game allows for it. It's up to the developer to design the game so these things can't happen, or to discourage them effectively. Blaming players is the cheap way out.
A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.
it isnt the game allow it,it is like a code ,you use say angry emo it is your turn to attack the other thern use angry emo it is their turn to attack!men this is a very very sad day for mmo!cause itopened a door that can never be closed be it in wow or other game it will open the path to major adoption of this
They should just completely remove all PVP from this game. Most of the complainers are PVPers. Would save them the trouble of having to deal with the issues Wow has as far as balancing. Plus they can focus on other issues like ability queuing, UI customization, class balance, texture quality, LFG tool, Anti aliasing, crafting balance, faction story balance instead. Bioware really hasn't ever made a decent player vs player game. Its not their strong suit. They should have added PVP later once the rest of their issues were fixed.
the issue here is this !they ll do the same in rbg in wow, this open a door
and bring a star wars MMO to the market without pvp?
you do know it's Star WARS right? That would have immediately lost them not only the pvp people but also 99% of the fans of the lore, if they haven't already done that {mod edit}
I for one shall never suffer a Sith to live in my presence.
Neither will my entire guild.
Ahh the MMO genre - the biggest problem these days is the players. An entire generation of weak willed, entitlement seeking children screwing everything up for those of us who remember what it was like while ya'll were still playing Mario Cart.
If both sides are okay with getting killed by the other faction, no game design will be able to stop that, save for random instanced encounters, which is the opposite of what world PvP is.
Take note this is not the case on all servers, I'm sure there are plenty of servers out there with a lot of high level characters fighting it out regardless of what the other faction is doing, but at the end of the day, if they really want to coordinate points for points, they'll do it.
I've seen it in other games too, most recently DCUO where people would create fight clubs, or allow other players to take control of the open world vendor. It only truly works when the players allow it to, design will only go so far, if players choose not to play as intended, its their prerogative and not a choice by the developers.
But if you world pvp, only lag you will find!

major /facepalm ahahahahahaha
As if most of these servers could pull off a legitimate faction v faction battle anyways. There's only like 3 to 4 Imperials per Republic player.
Not really surprising most are opting for the merry go round.
Many saw this coming before the game ever went live. Shouldn't really be surprising at all.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

Absolutely not, the problem is the system design. Specifically, the problem is that you get a reward for CAPTURING a keep (or whatever they are called on Illum). This is exploitable. Players can just keep trading keeps back and worth and rack up points infinitely. Here is how you fix it.
Remove rewards for capturing keeps. Add rewards for HOLDING keeps, and make it essentially a zero-sum game. In other words, you get steady rewards (ticks) for holding a keep. The other team will get the same rewards if they hold the keep. There is absolutely no incentive here to "let" the other team take a keep, because if you do that, you are losing out on your rewards.
Fixed.
Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob?
It is deffinately not players fault. It's like saying, oh, there people who want to cheat, what can we do, it's all them cheaters. Jr for example US goverment would say, there are damn bastards counterfiters, we can't do anything, it's bad people... They don't say so, they invent and implement new levels of security for dollars, so it is too expensive to duplicate them...
I tell you the reason why this is happening, because game developers are bitch-slapping you. What is the world pvp model in this game? Here is what they were thinking: "Lets make a zone, where players should fight, put dalies there" and here you eat it up, It is starwars, so who cares about world pvp, pve or anything, we have THE lable...
World pvp concept in this game is one of the most laziest feature i've ever seen.
I've came to hate this game... I did expect a lot from it, since it had huge budget, experienced company working on it, and I am a huge starwars fan... But when I payed 60 bucks for this avarage MMO... it just made me mad... WTF it's 2012, no world pvp, only instances, never more than 50 players at the same HUGE zone, ghost towns, cheap lazy talent trees, only two type of quests.
All they did was voice over crap...
That's not a swtor problem, WAR had more destros by far, Aion has more asmodians, afaik WoW had more horde early on.
TBH I wasn't surprised to see a 3:1 ratio at all.
That is only part of the problem. Even if you had that in play the populations are so skewed on some servers at that point Republic players on some would probably just stop going there almost altogether. They simply do not have the numbers compared to imperial.
That's a great idea if your numbers playing the factions are relatively close to each other. In this game? Yeah...pretty sure they aren't even remotely in the same ballpark.

keeping the tower wont solve anything cause they ll just trrade the tower this apply to everything ,i havent an idea of a counter that would hurt them without making them lose honor aside from the cost of repair like everytime you die the cost goes up in repair even if your armor isnt broken ,so you die once at level 1 it is one credit , etc so that at end game if you die it cost so much you dont want to die.it is the only way i can see to prevent this.
or in world pvp your repair cost double each time first time it is 1 credit second 2 third time 4 etc (would need to be scaled properly and it reset everytime the daily reset!
They did but not to the extreme I have seen in this game. In those ones least they were able to stay competitive and actually in Aion quite a few servers were rather close in number to each other.
In this game? I never seen anything like it. It's fucking hilarious.

This is game is just one long bad design choice after another.
But design aside... are you kidding me with the lag?
This, for one. For two, they could just as easily have certain times when they would trade caps for a certain period of time, as per my instance above with DCUO. If players want to cheat the design they'll do it.
The only way to not allow this, as I stated, is to not allow for any cross faction coordination.
They only way fix this, is to completely redisign world pvp, not just create new zone and slap dalies on it...
True, but faction imbalance is also caused by the system. Specifically, it's caused by the system having different factions where one is much more appealing . I actually think "server vs. server" is a much better way to get more balanced open-world PvP than faction vs. faction.
In addition, team imbalance is really just part of what makes open-world PvP what it is. You will rarely ever have exactly balanced teams...and you probably wouldn't want anything to force balanced teams (because then it would be essentially a WZ). Minor team imbalance is okay. It only gets bad when one team VASTLY outnumbers the other.
Regardless of imbalance though, I think my idea is still way better than what is currently implemented. It would stop keep trading cold.
Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob?
To not allow coordination would be to completely redesign world PvP.
I dont think you are fully aware of what you are saying. You are practically saying that people deserve a dictator in eg. government because they are weak willed, entitlement seeking children screwing everything up and only an all-knowing authority (read BW) knows what is best for them. I have my own opinion who is childish here.
Read this: It is never peoples fault it is yours (game developer, government, all authorities), world will spin if you exists or not - and talking about entitlement.
BW should have known better. They are a big corporation (including EA backing) and they should invest money and resources to reserch the problem which is not new and debated over and over in podcast, web sites, etc. etc.
