It is not really pointless, sometimes it just feels good to tell others your feelings no matter if they are good or bad. That is why people write and tells us if they found a new game they really love or if they ragequit Wow once again.

Of course threads like this do get annoying right now because they get so plentiful the first day a new game been out a month but noone is forcing us to read or post in them.
The same argument can be used for any posting in any forum: "Why did you post that? I don't care what you did or think!"
Why would anyone post that they are having fun, or graphics issues, or problems with finding players to group with, or that they like X or Y feature?
If you don't want to read about something, don't read it. That goes for pro or con or neutral posts.

I understand your feelings, but I don't share them completely. I would agree with most about no end game, but I knew what I was getting into when I signed on i.e. a "pay to beta" situation. I think most people that have been in MMO's from day one knew what to expect and purchased the game with guarded enthusiasm. Where I feel a little duped is the PvP. Supposedly there are three "BG's" available, but I've only played one.
After 50 queues, I've only played Huttball. I liked it at first, but I'd like to try something else. Also, the world PvP is close to non-existent. I saw Republicans and PvP'd on three planets, Tatooine, Voss, and Ilum. On Tatooine there was really very little but it was early in the game, and I think most people were just trying to quest. When the questlines crossed there was a little PvP... but afterwards there was no reward. Ilum's PvP is a joke that amounts to win trading. However, I don't have an issue with the cool downs in PvP like most. The CD's make you think about what spells to use instead of just spamming keys. I also like that there's no auto attack. One keypress, one action. I can't attack a mob then go eat a sandwich.
Also, I was a little let down that my class quest ended before I got to the final planet.... I wanted more. Maybe that's not such a bad thing, but it made Ilum seem anti-climatic.
All that being said, I believe this game has a chance to be very good. I really enjoyed the questing, and the PvE content. I felt a part of the story. I've rerolled another Imperial and so far the story is completely different. So I'll keep rerolling until I can't anymore. Hopefully they'll have all the little bugs, and big bugs fixed by then.

I canceled as well and went back to wow. Playing wow last night felt so unrestricted i ran around for about 20 minutes in any direction and then straight into another zone, jumped on my mount and flew over 4 others, FREEEEEEDOM!
Even though i canceled I'll re-sub to this game again one day, i certainly don't hate it. The tunnel running gets to you after awhile, and finally when you think you hit a great big open zone, you know get some freedom to explore, wtf? "exhaustion zone run back" you have got to be kidding me.

Another discrepency was (and I actually had to read it twice) that you considered WoW, historically the first on-rails-linear-led-by-the-developers-hand MMO emulator ever made to allow freedom.
Man, I'd never felt THAT penned in, suffocated and guided in any MMO pre-WoW. To see someone describe WoW as posessing the qualities of open ended exploration is mind blowing. It was a zero risk on rails tunnel from start to end, with 'dungeons'(linear hallways) and 'raids'(linear hallways) that played out exactly the same *every* time you ran them. Where was this so called freedom?
You mean freedom to go slightly off the path as you jogged from task-hub to task-hub?
Some of you people would have clearly loved the pre-WoW MMO world if *that's* what you think of as freedom in an MMO.

I know right. This is how bad things have gotten in mmo's that i consider wow more of an mmo than 90% of the recent valid choices. I guess i could always go back and play swg oh yeah, forgot. EQ, AC, UO can't do the graphics anymore, EQ2 after 6 years since launch I'm done with SOE (for awhile anyway), and the rest of the open world sands are so buggy i can't stand that anymore either.
Stuck now wanting decent polish, decent graphics, but want the open world, what other choice is there?

For the EXACT same reasons he posted this ( the title of the post is the only thing i can fault him for personally ) i see 4 pages of people posting attacking him for his opinion of the game??? Why read a thread you dont care about, then take the time to post saying you dont care, when you clearly cared enough to read and POST nothing meaningful behind it? Unless the goal is to "bump" the thread.
Might I make a suggestion that the devs make one thread for people to post that they cancelled their account today. That way we don't have all these different threads of people saying how and why they felt the need to that open up the floor for all the haters to have a pop.
If people don't like TOR then they're welcome to their opinions, but they have to sound them at every beck and call, and there's plenty of them with threads like this popping up hourly. I used to do the same on the Rift forums and got warned for it. I now realise how bitter I looked.

I left because I heard Bioware's developmental plans for the next 3 months.I read nothing that showed me Bioware has any understanding, or intent to initiate great 24/7 faction conflict.
I love to develope characters...multiple crafters...housing all driven by a focus on faction vs faction warfare.Like TRION and Rift , Bioware doesn't have a clue when it comes to providing this key feature for me.So I'm playing........nothing.
Why not post on SWTOR forums? I've concluded Biowars doesn't want to hear what I and players like me have to say.

Just because you seem to be a SWTOR hater doesn't mean everyone is. There are a lot of people like myself that actually like this game and won't be joining the people that seem to be leaving SWTOR. The servers are still going pretty strong and even though haters post they don't like this game or they are leaving and that others will be joining them soon it just isn't the case no matter how hard they want it to be so.
WoW had amazing storylines, great character and companion development, rich environments, finely tuned combat, sweet crafting mechanics, and amazing, perfect PVP at launch which needed not one bit of fixing or tweaking, ever. I'd rather spent my time copy/pasting my Farewell Letter to Bioware to every forum I can find than playing this piece of crap!

Yeah the exhaustion thing on Tat when I first experienced it was a bummer. Especially since I could hop on a taxi and auto route right through the "prohibited" area.
Im getting my moneys worth out of this game. The wife and I are still leveling up and having a lot of fun. Once I hit 50, Im gonna make the best gear I can craft for myself without pvp, raids, or flashpoints. Im gonna deck out my ship and do a full clear on all space missions. Im gonna gear out all my companions with the best crafted gear and max out their affection. Then I think I will be ready for TSW hehe.
