Sure.... you're all right....  X-Fire does not represent a statistically relevant sample for a number of reasons, but consider this....    When was the last time you saw someone saying.... 'Told you so.  X-Fire's completely off.  Turns out we're doing AWESOME!!!!!"?,'....   This exact conversation on Warhammer online forums come to mind....  "Age of Conan"...... Older games such as "Aion" and "Lord of the Rings"...  When was the last time you saw someone saying.... "WTH....  According to X-Fire pops should be growing, but it sure seems as though servers are getting more empty"?  Not e-v-e-n f-u-c-k-i-n ONCE has this happened.....   .... X-Fire has proven to be as fair and accurate an indicator of how well a game is doing as we can hope for since some 7 years ago when Turbine quit publishing their server numbers for AC2 and the industry took note.

Yeah... I know statistics as well as the next guy and I wouldnt bet my mortage on SW-TOR tanking any time soon based on X-Fire stats alone, but historically a downward X-Fire trend in conjunction with a company not publishing sub-numbers (remember that a month after the release of WoW Turbine was anouncing sub-growth from all available rooftops to anyone who cared to listen)  has accurately implied that a game's not doing as well as hoped for.  Statistically relevant sub-pop or no...

If you were to ask me right now to put my life's savings on whether I think SW-TOR is gaining or losing subscribers, I'd take that x-fire graph into consideration in lieu of other data, and I'd put my wad on the fact that it's losing subs. Can you honestly say that you'd bet differently?

Thing is...  SW-TOR released to the general public barely a month ago and all tendencies point towards the game losing steam, not gaining it.   Not a mass-exodus perhaps, but not a good sign either.

Some people think xfire isn't a good way to measure the health of an MMO.   I've been using it since AC2 and your'e absolutely right.   Never have we ever and I mean ever seen an MMO title do something different than what was projected on xfire.  Not once.  That is why I am so inclined to use it.   Is it the most accurate?  Of course not.  Is it something that gives us an approximation?  Yep...and it has never failed me yet in projecting the health of an MMO yet.  Not once.

Well the free month is up....looks like the mmorpg.com hate team was wrong yet again.

You claimed that the population would dwindle to nothing after the free month, and that the game would be f2p by summmer.

There are actually more people playing today (on my servers at least) then there was 2 weeks ago.

Maybe now you can stop the hate, move on to over-hypeing the next game, and then pounce on it with your anger and hatred because it didn't meet the astronamical expections you came up with in your own mind.

But I know....the players are wrong, the critics are wrong, and you extremely small (yet very vocal) community of hate breeders are right and this game is epic fail.

Now go photoshop a SWTOR logo on a picture of the titanic or something equally as ludicrus if it makes you feel better.

First off, it's easy for Bioware to control what the population is considered as "Light, Standard, or Heavy". So unless you're seeing numbers it means nothing.

Secondly, just logged onto my nephews account and noticed the major hubs are ghost towns.

Third, how much of a child are you to make a thread like this?

I'm a child for defending a great game, sure.  Everytime someone makes an equally childish thread about how much they hate this game everyone here gives them a virtual pat on the back.  Talk about double standards sheesh.

Haters get hugs, fans get insulted.

Anyone who wants to see just how bad the mass exodus from SWTOR is should look at this massive thread on the official forums:

    http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=136348

These are all people still with active accounts who are reporting their servers are lossing mass numbers of players.

Yeah, it's just 'teh irrational haters' who want to bring this 'amazing' game down by spreading lies about server populations...

Of course there is no mass exodus. People on the forums are just being emotional, thinking with their emotions instead of their heads. Plenty of exaggeration, skewed perspectives etc.

This pretty much sums up everything in a nutshell.  Just wait when gw2 comes this same series of events will play out complete with meanless graphs from xfire :), just enjoy the show.

Anecdotal evidence is worthless in predicting trends. People playing less does not indicate a mass exodus. It indicates the normal progression from "Can't put it down" to "Play almost every day" to "Playing occasionally now" to "Unsubscribed." The timeline on that is known only to Bioware. Keep in  mind most players never post on, much less read, gaming forums.

your logic will not be welcomed here, give in to the hate.

    It does NOT matter.

If someone ENJOY Swtor's gameplay , let's him / her have it.

For me it is enough that Swtor have not 'ended up' as second WoW and next hegemon that would defie genre for next 7 years.

That does not mean that Swtor will crash and burn like Warhammer Online.

I predict that Swtor will lose popularity ,but will be strong enough to survive and earn money for quite a long time ,though not as much as EA wanted him to.

Can any of you point out one MMO that was released here in the US or EU that has performed differently than what xfire has shown?  Not counting WoW.  Show me just one game.   I'll be waiting.

Also only about 20% of a games playerbase will check the forums daily, and out of that 20% only about 5% will tell people whats going on ingame.

i didnt see any sign of hostility in the OP post, maybe you are a bit too sensible? and im sure he didnt mean the mmorpg staff when he said "hate team" i think he meant the mmorpg group of users taht hate the game and cant make a comment without hating. Just like theres a group "team" of haters for every game.

LOL! I don't know...scratch that.  I was thinking of something while typing...plus this wine is really good.  LOL!   Anyway, all I want is someone to point out one MMO that has performed differently than what xfire shows.   Just one.

hate this hate that hater he hater her blah blah blah

If you can't take the critisism you shouldn't really be on a public forum.

Labeling any critic on a game as HATE is getting very tiring and disolves any possibility of a proper conversation.

"Oh how can he possibly not like this absolutely amazing piece of game software!!?!?! HE MUST BE A HATER!!! NO OTHER POZZIBLE EXXXPLANATION!!!"

for every single person who's said that they don't like this game, there's been others that label him as a hater... so so tiring...

Though you are excused to call the trolls that open up negative threads just to stir shit up, haters... since a constructive conversation is out of ze question. But please don't steamroll over any nevative thread just to protect your own illusion that SWTOR is a good game ;)

(....I'm teasing I'm teasing.. calm down)

Well I know Patch 1.1 which came out right before subscription resub time did not go smoothly and pissed a lot of people, including myself.  I did unsub earlier than the patch but did have quite a bit of fun with PvP and was thinking of resubbing.  I found a good group of premades and was playing with them and having fun, I was looking foward to premade vs premade and ranked games.  The patch 1.1 diaster ruined the fun I had with PvP in the game for me and all my friends on the Iron Citadel server.  A lot of us quit because of it and I know the out cry was huge across alot of servers.

My problem with the game is that the PvE is just bad in SWTOR.  Its boring and grindy.  The storyline is excellent but its to far and between.  SWTOR has its flaws but if people like it then good for them I myself will not be resubbing and am instead looking foward to Diablo 3.

XFire would only need to be defened if it was showing something contrary to all or most of the rest the available evidence. But it has been showing exactly what everything else we know shows. The game is bleeding players like mad.

Both offical server status page and XFire show the same continual drop over the past month.

Anyone watching the official forums has seen the mass numbers of threads about:

    * I was the only person on planet X today

    * There were only X number of people in fleet tonight, last week there were 2*X, and two weeks ago there were 4*X

    * I couldn't find a group for 4 hours last night because my server is dead

    * Please merge servers, I have no one to play with

    * Please allow transfers, my server is dead

Screenshots of completely dead main game hubs at peak hours that were packed with players just a couple weeks ago.

    Bioware's complete silence about sales,subscriptions.

Sure, Bioware could be adjusting the server capacities in such a way that it just happens to mirror XFire's decline in player activity, all these people on the offical forums are lying about their servers being dead, people are going through the effort to fabricate screenshots of dead and empty zones at prime gaming times, and Bioware has choosen to remain completely silent about the population of their game because it is doing so well they don't want brag.

    LOL...

Juding form your comment and your syntax, I'd say you you represent everything that is wrong with racism in this country.  Could it possibly be that I'm so comfortable with myself and my interaction with people of other ethnicities that I just don't give a fuck how I come across?  Do I sound too "white" for you?  Fuck you.

My best friend of over 15 years is from the Caribbean.  I grew up in prodominatly black neighborhoods for most of my childhood.  The biggest Star Wars nerd I know is Jamaican (he seriously put up star wars wallpaper all over his apartment).

I'll high five who ever the fuck I want regardless of their skin color.  Maybe your 60 year old boss just doesn't hi-five you because your a racist douche bag,

You will also (as it seems) creat an account and thread (when moderation is low) just to troll. Hope you are well fed by Monday morninig fuck stick.

lol yea because if I'm banned I'm going to care.  I'm having fun :)

Haters still trying, still failing :D

Probably going to get in trouble for this in some way, but that might just be one of the "whitest" comments I've ever seen.

A guy who at 3 AM in the morning on a Star Wars gaming forum talking about "haters" with an unmistakable Eastern European syntax, using smileys, and somehow getting it all wrong in an a way that's kind of just uncomfortable for the reader.

Oh, but it was "insultive" and "kinda" racist.  "Your" right...  and yes...  I am dumb enough to think that "hater" was originally a "black people term" (much like "bling", "homeboy", and women calling eachother "girlfriend" for what it's worth.  I'm just horrible...).  Perhaps I got that wrong and it originated out of some coastal town in upstate Maine somewhere.  'My apologies.  Didn't mean to be hatin'.

Either way.... Also didn't mean any insult to you, Jamaican people, or for that matter Caribbean's of any kind.  Point conceded.  U's right.  Hater's be haitin', and failer's be a failin'.  Or whatever the fuck nonsense you said to pretend to make a point.

You also seem to be predjudice against women, the elderly, people form new jersey and hi-fives.

If you think that slang orgininated or is somehow all-inclusive to the black community you are sorely wrong.  Yes I spelled "you're" wrong.

My point was made, you responded with another deragatory and insultive post, proving you are a racist douche who lives with your head up your ass.

No wonder you don't get any high fives.

Dude.... You spell everything wrong for what it's worth, but good job on picking up on the "you're".

Whatever...  I just always find it funny and like to call people out on it when they use "net-bonics" to try to make some kind of statement.  As though calling people "haters" is going to somehow drive home whatever lack of a point you were pretending to convey, but either way...  For shits and giggles.... Since I obviously failed to pick up on it....  When you so eloquently stated that  "Haters still trying, still faililng:.  What exactly were you trying to say?, and while we're on the subject....  Since you seem to konw...  Please educate me....  If not out of black hip-hop, where do you think the term "hater" originated?  I'm seriously curious here.

Also... if you find it racist that I think it's sheer comedy that net-gangsta's such as yourself like to throw 90's black slang around on Star Wars forums at 3 PM at night then that's on you man.  My concience is pretty clear....
