Oh, my mistake, the servers are back up in about half the time they had scheduled for.

I remember wow servers being down for 2+ Days for Maintenance. That game turnd out just fine. The fact that you are so mad that the servers are down must mean u like the game other wise it would not upset u so much. The servers being down for 8 hours in the early morning and your QQing about it? If you can't find anything else to do with ur time untill the servers come back up you may want to quit the game all together and re-evaluate your life. If you can only play twice a week then why are u playing an mmo at all?

The servers are up, they are almost always down for considerably less time than they say they will be. They are also down every Tuesday, if youd been paying attention uptill now im sure youd have noticed this.

Probably because the way they have the servers set up to update off of a sinlge server someplace. If all the servers are only "verifying" with one server, you have a much smaller chance of random glitches showing up.

You guys dont get it because you dont understand that they take down the servers in the middle of the day for us Europeans. If they did it in US there would be riot in the streets. This is inspite of SW:TOR arena showing that around 35% of players are from Europe so Bioware are basically saying a big **** you to 35% of their customers.
Oh, right, I don't get it, since I'm from Sweden... Which is in Europe... And I'm home from work since I'm ill and actually had a chance to play... For once.. Yeah, sure, I don't get it. And yes, Saturdays downtime sucked immensly, after a week of not playing a single evening due to work I finally had the possability to but were denied it. It sucked. It was frustrating. But guess what? These things happen. And it's not a regular occourance (as opposed to weekly maintenance).
Is it frustrating? Yes. Is it part of MMOs? Yes. Do I get the downtime? Yes. Do I get why people are so bloody surprised there is downtime during what is school/work hours for most people in Europe once every week ? No, not really. Especially not since it's Regular Maintenance. It's not something new.

I know you are not, at least not here. But the OP said that he was quitting because BW is actively trying to make this game better on a weekly basis with the occasional unscheduled downtime that ALL MMO's have had to do at launch + few months. To him that is unacceptable behavior for a responsible company that if they did not do this would lose even more players.

I am very happy playing lightsabers but i am also sick of GW rabid fanboys who just can not resist turning every topic of SWTOR into SWTOR vs GW2. GW was as easy as it gets but had options for those who want hard content. Same goes for SWTOR, options are there.

Wow, people are complaining for issues getting fixed now.
If you want to play, there are enough games to play for the duration of the downtime.
I couldnt play on the Saturday and now i cant play on my day off today either, 8AM - 4PM
