They could give me it for free and even put 10bucks on top of it: if it sucks, it sucks.
I've played a ton of mmorpgs since M59 onward, including TOR, and it ranks as one of my all time worse MMO experiences ever. I could not imagine another game that is more polar opposite to the things that I find cunducive to a great mmorpg experience.
With that said, by all means, I also recoomend trying it and forming your own opinion... as I truly don't expect anybody to share mine. To each their own, and all that

OP, I totally agree with you. Its not a perfect game, but the same people on these forums stating the same ambiguous garbage is being ignored by the more than 1.7M subscribers who don't give a crap what they think. Its a shame though because as I've stated in the past, people who used to be interested in the game came here to discuss. Instead is generally just a sewer of "I hate this game comments" not really helping people understand why those 1.7M subscribers are enjoying themselves. I too am anxiously awaiting GW2, but that isn't stopping me from enjoying the game or even playing it alonside with GW2 when that gets released...and when I don't like the game, I won't hang around forums stating how much I dislike it over and over again. I'll move on to forums of games I am actually interested in..just as I did when I got bored of Age of Conan, LOTRO, EQ2, Warhammer, Vanguard, etc.
Do I wish they took more risks, absolutely, but it is extremely polished and a step in the right direction and I think is set a much higher bar for PVE and questing in general. I can't imagine going back to an older game and continuing to hit accept, grind, and not care about the story. Now I'm able to do a little RPG and enjoy the story.
You hit a very important point here, one which is consistantly being overshadowed I fear. Too many on these forum have the belife that they have a right to do and say whatever they want. And by allowing that attitude to continue as long as it has on this site, it has caused a serious downgrade to the site as a whole. The name MMORPG.COM has become an insult in many circles outside this site. Mention it, that you read it on this site, and your opinion in whatever discussion you are having is instantly ignored. Just the thought that it was posted on these forums makes it 100% trash for most who play games in this genre. I hate to be the one to bring the news and all (not like it wasn't known already by just about everyone now) but you know....

But to many, the way they added the voice acting, cut scenes, RPG element to the questing, etc are not mediocrity. Many are happy with using the same (old I admit) MMO themepark scheme they enjoy with the PVE experienced enhanced..which is what this game did. However, there is a pool of players out there like you who really are dying for the next level where a game like Skyrim is brought into the MMO mix. That will happen one day, just not for a while.

No one is arguing whether there are certain features we all wish were in game, like customizable UI, but comparing the game to Alpha is a bunch of BS and sort of discredits your beta experience...especially when just about every professional reviewing outlet admits how polished it is despite a few gripes or bugs.
The time for trying to convince other to like this game is long gone,most have tried it over the beta weekends or actually bought the game and stayed or left.
mmorpg.com can try to push the game as much as they want with threads about swtor every other day but it won't change anything.
People have already made thier minds up either way.

Sure this game is more of the same from wow, but i think the cinematic quests make ALL the difference in the world. That alone is enough of a reason to check this game out.
You basically give a pretty compelling reason not to try the game, and then say it's a reason to try the game out. Now, people who want WoW in a Star Wars universe should try out SWTOR. But if it's entirely predictable that I'll dislike the game for about the same reasons as WoW, why waste the time? There are other, more promising games to try.
I had fun for awhile leveling up. around level 20ish i got real tired of the voice crap for every single quest space bar became my friend really quick. but i do admit i still listened to the class story because it was interesting and my guy got to kill people alot for darkside points.
but as the game goes on it quickly becomes the same game as all the other themepark games, you pretty much can go the whole game without dieing its really easy, and the maps are so linear you never have to worry about getting lost or exploreing. its the typical hold your hand and make sure your safe all the way to 50 type game.
I played on a pvp server and i think i ran into maybe 3 people from the other faction in 50 levels. personally i like pvp in MMOs so this game was a very big dissapointment for myself, in fact this game is probably the worst pvp i have ever seen in a MMO.
seriously i have played free games with better pvp than this. but if you like pve then give it a shot you will probably have some fun, hell even if you only play a month at least you had fun durring the free month right?

I love how people bashed the game because I even thought to suggest some to try it. Did I ask any of you guys what you DIDNT like about the game?
As for the paying 60 bucks? Well I said the main thing that got me was the cinematics and the story line. So say you enjoyed a game like MASS EFFECT? did you pay 60 bucks for a linear story game and enjoy it? Did you ever pick it up again? (Probably not, I didn't) Star wars could be similar. You play thru the story in your first month and your done with it. That seems to be the most enjoyable part of the game as I pointed out. Most of you haters claim you can get to level 50 in a few weeks anyways. So you'll get thru your story in that first month.

I also want to add this site is a HATERS site they hate every game, no game is reviewed b the posters in a good light.
For every person who likes a game you'll have 10 saying they hate the game.
That is why I only come to this site to see whats new. I find the posters are angry most likely they only have xboxs and very old PC's.

Right now TSW is just a filler if other games fail. I don't really like the PvP changes last year.
