What's the bad things about TERA?

So far the only really bad thing I've heard about TERA was the fast leveling curve and that, despite the change to combat mechanics from other MMOs, everything else was pretty standard. I don't think that's going to be an issue in the West, though. People here prefer faster leveling curves. They'll come to the forum and complain they don't have anymore content to eat through, yes, but they'd still take that problem over grinding for a year to get to cap. Personally I'm find with a fast cap providing the content continues to grow and be interesting.

People have been level cap in CoH for years, and by now even new players get there within hours. But people keep playing anyway because leveling up isn't the "meat" of the game, it's just the result of playing through it.

"Forums aren't for intelligent discussion; they're for blow-hards with unwavering opinions."

Well if you feel perverted about computer game i feel sorry for you... ;( its only bunch of pixels i don't have any sexual feeling for pixels...

You are aware that absolutely everything you're looking at right now... down.. to.... this... very...     word

is made of pixels, right? jpgs... .avis... tube sites.... all pixels

If you're looking at someone's drawing of a sexualized child with animal ears, I'd rather be the guy that says "hey - there's something a little wrong about that" than the guy who tries to pretend he's not looking at someone's drawing of a sexualized child with animal ears. Only one party brought up "sexual feelings" too... So hey - no sense in trying to insult someone's tastes, eh?

It won't keep me from playing though. Aim based combat in a AAA world with a political system seems like a positive step in MMO-land.

One of the reasons why it didn't do very well there was because of the fast lvl'ing speed. TERA has a lvl'ing speed just like RIFT's or TOR, and for some reason Koreans love long grinds.

to lvl to 50 in Tera it takes way longer then in SwTOR  or rift,  but is easier then Aion,  the reason Korean gamers quit Tera is it's shorter then what they like it to be for the lvling and grind, they like the grind of Aion and not saying the NA release of Aion but the Korean release of Aion.

idk maybe the naming of it? seems like it's some sort of chicks name from final fantasy or something.

Tera- (symbol: T) is a prefix in the metric system denoting 1012 or 1000000000000. Terabyte for example.

    Terra in lating means earth.

SOME people quit because there was nothing to do once you hit max level since the game was released too early, it's not because they 'like' the grind. TERA is still in the top 4 MMOs played in Korea.

You're not really much good at logical analysis and common sense are you.

Well the game does not INNOVATE anywhere except in combat (which is also up to debate since Blade & Soul is doing more with that than TERA does...). It doesnt have any of the forward-looking features of GW2.

Crap. Please don't tell me Tera is next on the GW2 fanboi hitlist. Calm down and go back to the SWTOR threads. We all like GW2 around here and will probably play it too. We're not the droids you're looking for.

Too late, on videos and 4chan TERA is already under constant heat from GW2. :[

I don't know much about Tera. I have basically read stuff and seen a couple of videos. Yesterday though, I saw a EU beta video, before it got shut down I guess. And the small hype I had for this game went south fast. The problem I have with this game is that it reminds me sooo much of Aion....

It's not the gameplay of course, but the scenery, the ambient, sounds, art style. Its the eastern style, that while it's beautiful it not my favorate and grows on me in a wrong way :(

Besides that, the opening cinematic video had very bad voice overs and reminded me a lot of the single player Final Fantasy games with all of their melodrama and stereotypical characters. I guess Tera is not for me....

I'd say you should atleast give the BETA a try, I know the eastern art style leaves a bad taste in many peoples mouths for reasons such as Aion, but this game is not like Aion and has some really unique features, i'd say it's worth a try before you just disregard it, even if it's just for the combat system alone.

The combat system is the one thing that draws my attention and I want to try it out just to know how it feels. The political system is very interesting also but its not for me, it will still be intersting to see how that plays out. The classes seem VERY generic which is another draw back...
