Everyone acts like RMT is a new thing for Diablo. What some of you don't seem to realize or remember is that there has been RMT in Diablo games since before Diablo 2. Just because it wasn't regulated by Blizzard doesn't mean it didn't exist. The only difference now is that Blizzard controls it instead of third parties and of course people will have a chance to make a few bucks off of it without risking their accounts.
If you enjoyed Diablo 2, then you will probably enjoy Diablo 3 as well despite the RMT being in your face rather than outsourced. Quit whining and just play the game the same way you always have.

These things are here because of people like you. Why should someone who spends more time in the game be equal to the rich kid who has better equipment because of the RMT?

Why should some one who lives the their moms basement playing games 24/7 be entitled to the best equipment to those who work for a living, have families and real life commitments?
Look D3 is not an MMO, you're not going to be questing and then get ganked by some one who was lucky enough to find items on the player driven money auction house.

Exactly. What does it matter if others have equivalent or better gear than you in less time because they bought it? It doesn't, because other than the pvp part of Diablo 3 (which is hit or miss at this point) the game isn't about competition. Just play the game alone or with friends the way you always have and enjoy it. Don't let a feature of the game that you can avoid 100% of the time ruin your experience.

While I am not a fan of the RMT it does not effect me in any way. If I dont want to use it then I do not have to and it wont have any effect on my gameplay.
I could care less if someone spends 100's of $ pimping out their toon in a game like D3. I am in no competition with anyone. Me and my friends will play it just like we always do and never worry about RMT or who is using it.
We played D2 for many years and never used the websites out there that were doing RMT for D2. If blizzard didnt do RMT then someone else would. Like it or not there is a huge market for it, whats the difference in a 3rd party site selling stuff and blizzard doing it ?
^This^ They charge for Prima guides which used to be free in the instruction manual. They charge for DLC which used to be part of the game. They have item shops. Now they have RMT auctions. Who is out there buying this garbage? STOP!

It's the way games are going, we either get involved so we can lend out voice to the direction it tries to move in or we burrie our heads in sand and complain when something happens we don't agree with.... but those that burrie their heads have no right to complain because they chose not to get involved in the first place.
I hate cash shops in competative games, someone buying their way to the top is no fun for anyone, but talking specificly about D3, D3 is not a competative game so who cares if someone buys their way to the top? Also D3 does not have a cash shop, it has a an auction house populated by items players find and choose to put up for sale, so when one top teir item appears on the AH only one person can buy it, in comparison a cash shop will have unlimited copies of this item to sell. D3's RMAH is not a traditional cashshop.

ONLY way is to avoid games with that business models (Zynga, Bigpoint , many of EA and Acti-Blizz titles).
No matter how hyped game is.
It is not only reason that is keeping me from buying D3 ,but it is one of main reasons. Simply cause bigger success D3 and RMAH will have , more chance / faster / more games will have RMAH in future. I don't want it so I will not help it ,even if my personal choice does not matter in 'biger picture'. I will feel better.
+ support companies that have straight honest business models and treat consumer with care ( f.e. CDProjekt Red amonst few others).
You need to support companies like Arena.Net. They make good money without being greedy bastids. They're one of the few development houses left that are interested in making good products and making good money as a result. Unlike the majority now who are scheming to drain your wallet for as little effort and with the lowest quality product they can get away with.

There are plenty of others as well.
But yeah, I try to avoid games that seems too greedy, particularly monthly fees and micro transactions (in the same game) grind my gears.
I think in the long run greed will punish itself as long as good games where you get what you pay for exists.
Among the none greedy MMO companies you should keep your eyes out for Undead labs, they will become huge in a few years.

Get involved? That sounds crazy. If you "get involved", you are showing them that you approve of those business practices. The best way to halt them in their tracks is to speak with your wallet by not buying their crap.
For Diablo 3, it was being marketed as having the most competitive PVP in the series a while back. After they announced RMT AH, my updates on the game dwindled down quite a bit though. If you buy anything in Blizzard's item shop or you buy Diablo 3 at all, you are telling the industry that you support B2WIN gaming, in a very big way.

Fun fact: RMT has existed on D2 for a long time, its just not 'official'. This just lets Blizzard get some cash out of it and gives some chance at least for normal players to do something. Like it or not, buying goods has been something that has floorished in every game already. Its an evil that will exist, no matter how much you try to kill it.

I dont see what the big deal is honestly.

Last thing i want to do in any game is having to fork out even more cash for items.
( i know you can sell stuff too but trust me when i say bliz will make big bucs and you wont. )
Clicked on the linky and it was undergoing maintenance. Not really surprising but made me smile none the less.
It will be intresting to see how this works in practice.
